Rehoboth Auto Repair

I used to use a different shop for work on my Mercedes and Volvo’s and a dealer in Lewes to service my GMC pick-​up. I can honestly say, without a doubt, Mary and the crew at Rehoboth Auto have been beyond professional. Repairs and maintenance have been done timely and at fair prices. The dealer did a brake line repair that cost me over $ 1,500 then refused to honor the work just over a year and 1,500 miles later when the same brake line collapsed. Their location is convenient, they are professional and I never second guess the pricing or recommendation. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I have a Porsche Boxster that was leaking water from the air conditioner into the passenger side of the car. The car also needed a new thermostat and a oil change. Several people recommended Rehoboth Auto Repair, and I went to talk to them about what needed to be done. The owner said that the AC hose needed to be blown out, and it would not be problem to replace the thermostat. I was in Rehoboth for an extra 4 days while the car was getting fixed.
After driving home, I noticed the rug on the passenger side was completely soaked and the temperature of the car was higher than it should be for a new thermostat. I called Rehoboth Auto Repair and talked to a technician (Steve) who worked on the car. He told me he blew the AC hose out and nothing came out. He thought it was strange. It never occurred to him that there might be a problem somewhere else. He said he would talk to the Porsche dealership about the thermostat and would call me back. They changed the oil — but, I’m afraid they did not use the synthetic oil. I never received a return phone call. I had to take the car to the Porsche dealership in MD to get it fixed. They told me that one of the pipes was completely clogged at the elbow, and did not think the thermostat was made for Porsche. I do not recommend this auto repair place for foreign cars.

Unfortunately they were so high with an estimate that i will never go back or recommend. Offered no options, wanted $ 1800 for brakes on a $ 3000 car. Then wanted to charge me for estimate when their office staff was too busy talking to a «friend «customer to even have me sign a form for an estimate when i dropped of car.
They were highly recommended by a local business, but i won’t go back. Owner has written me to revise my review… So, this is the revision. I would look at other places, and compare estimates in the future.

I recently was traveling from Alexandria, VA to Rehoboth Beach, DE in my Honda s2000. About 30 miles out on forlorn Rt. 404, I had a flat tire. I jacked up the car and installed the donut, and immediately called the local Honda dealer (Price Honda in Dover) — who did NOTHING to help the situation, who kept me on hold forever, and finally played a recording asking me to leave my cell number for a call back. A week later, I am still waiting. When I got to Rehoboth, my host recommended Rehoboth Beach Auto Repair (RBAR) — a godsend for sure! They were able to locate a replacement tire in Wilmington, get it shipped to Rehoboth quickly. My car went into RBAR late on Saturday night with a key drop, and I got it back on Monday morning. Perfect. Very reasonable cost. Friendly and professional service — complete with mounting and balancing. No haggling. I was thoroughly satisfied with this company and could not have asked for anything more. FIVE STARS!

What a terrific find. Flashing engine light came on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend at the beach! First of all, they were open on Sunday (yeah!) but would be closed Monday. However they said they’d order parts and do their best to get us on the road early Tuesday. They quoted a reasonable price and delivered as promised. We are tempted to bring our car here for routine maintenance even though we live 150 miles away-​honest, hard working, good people are good to find anywhere!

I took my 2003 Mazda Miata for a routine oil and coolant change. I returned a few hours later because the coolant was low. Then I noticed oil on my driveway and drove back again to get the drain plug and oil filter were tightened up… long story short, they weren’t very conscientious about 2 very simple, very routine maintenance procedures.

My 1995 Toyota Corolla broke down on my way home from the Delaware Beaches to Annapolis. I was so worried that the repair shop where the car was towed would rip me off, because I really had no choices. But the price of the repair (a new radiator) was reasonable and the mechanics and office help were courteous and professional. They came in at the price promised and within the timeline predicted. The whole thing could have been a huge headache, but it wasn’t.
