Edgewater Inn

The staff here is amazing, especially Veronica. She helped us get checked in quickly after arriving in a tow truck. We broke down on the 180 coming down from Sequoia National Park. The staff was all so nice. We hung out at the pool waiting for the car to get fixed. They held a room for us in case our car wasn’t fixed the next day. Great basic breakfast. Rooms were very nice and updated and clean. Pool was awesome and a small hot tub. No complaints from us. It was perfect. Thank you again for all the kindness and help!

CLEAN & FRIENDLY: A little better than a Motel 6. Basic décor, fridge, standard def cable, pool, harsh white fluorescent lights, clean and really hard bed and loveseat.
Fair price for an overnight crash on the way to somewhere else.

We have absolutely zero complaints about the Edgewater Inn. It’s just what we asked for at just the right price. We enjoyed talking with all the friendly staff, and they made our stay a very pleasant. The room was clean with all the amenities advertised. And the AC kept us cool in the summer heat!

Stayed here rooms are clean not much from the outside but not ugly. Rooms were nice I wasn’t sure what to expect stayed in some places for more that were less qualifying. The beds are comfortable, room was clean, the TV’s are big flats. The A/​C works fine, didn’t have a chance to try the Breakfast. Wifi is free and the price I paid was fair for the quality. Once again surprised to find this Little spot just outside of Fresno and deserves all three stars solid. I couldn’t say it’s more than that justifiably, but I definitely would stay here again.

My husband and I traveled from Yosemite Park to Kings Canyon. We arrived after dark in Reedley and decided to find a hotel/​motel for the night. After asking a pedestrian we found out that the Edge Water Inn was the only place besides a Bed and Breakfast in town. Having stayed the night before at the Hilton (5 Stars) in Down Town San Francisco I was a little worried what I would find. Driving up to the Edge Water Inn it looked to be very plain.
I went to the reception where I was greeted in a very professional way by the owner who insured me that they had just remodeled there rooms with new beds, carpet, paint etc. After paying a very reasonable rate we were pleasantly surprised how clean, comfortable and nice our accommodation were. My husband and I felt that the bathroom was cleaner then at the Hilton. I am a very picky person, bring my own pillow and blankets with me when I travel and I have to say this place was super clean.

I was working down in Reedly and surrounding areas for work last year. Most of the guys on my crew were staying here, and when the temperatures were getting too uncomfortable for my other accomodations, I got a room here. Having traveled alot for work, I have gotten use to dingy, sub standard rooms. I realize you often get what you pay for, but this place took me back to when I was a kid, and motels were a business not run by corporations, but family run where there is an obvious pride their establishment.
I was impressed with how clean and the ammenities they offered by the price! The rooms were spotless, the beds comfortable, and the bathrooms modern, and a free continental breakfast was the perfect start to my mornings. After work, the pool was very nice and even had towels out at the pool for guests. Even though I would turn off my air before leaving in the morning, the hotel staff would have my room made up and the air with the room nice and cool. I felt like I had a wife taking good care of me! I tipped the girls with the gratuity envelope, and wrote a marriage proposal to one of them! My ONLY ding I would have to give them is the lighting; them light ‘temperature’ of their CFL’s was whitish blue and very sterile looking, like an old mercury vapor street light! But that is the only criticism I can muster. If they changed to 3200 kelvin CFL’s, they’d get 5 STARS from me!

The rooms are nice enough and supposedly they’re getting renovated soon. When I checked in, the manager upgraded us to a king size bed at no extra cost, just because he felt like being nice. So that was neat. The wifi is pretty spotty, but works. Everything else was clean, though our room seemed pretty worn out and outdated. I’m sure this place sees a lot of interesting people come and go, so for what it is, this hotel is all right.

I booked a motel room here through AAA while using their vacation planning service. I chose this motel because it was very reasonably priced, and it was the closest thing I could get to Sequoia National Park.
The room itself was clean, although two of the lamps didn’t work the first night because they needed new bulbs. However, the maids promptly changed them the next day because they were working when we returned the following evening. Also, when we turned the lights out to go to sleep, someone had written with invisible fluorescent ink on the wall above the bed that someone loves someone else, pretty low class.
The complimentary breakfasts were minimal, consisting of Little Debby style danishes and muffins with coffee and orange juice. That was all I really expected for the price we were paying, however.
The thing that would keep me from coming back, however, is the Wi-​Fi, or the lack thereof. I was told by AAA that the motel would have free Wi-​Fi. I called the motel myself the day before we left and verified this fact. And, in fact, the first night we did have Wi-​Fi. However, when we came back from the park the second night there was no Wi-​Fi signal available, so I called the office and asked them why the Wi-​Fi wasn’t working, and the night-​time manager said she had no idea, but that it was working because she’d had «several other people log on tonight.» However, I know it wasn’t working because my smartphone also has Wi-​Fi capability, and it also did not pick up any signal. The situation was the same the third night, so I’m giving this motel a 2 instead of 3 for service.

Who wants to drive to Fresno if they don’t have to? We stayed here even though we usually drive 38 miles to Fresno if we have to stay overnight in the area and can’t get to the mountains to camp.
We got a lot more at the Edgewater Inn than were trepidaciously expecting. After sizing up the riverside area and noticing many single men using the hotel I was cautious but the clerk let me look at the room first & we decided it was ok for crashing while traveling. Our room was in the non smoking section on the first floor. The bathroom was newly redone: clean & fresh with roomy shower over tub. What I thought was a spot of dirt on the floor was a small drop of paint– it was that recently painted. The place was surprisingly quiet– despite having seen the kid in the room next door hauling in a party quantity of beer we heard not a word all night. When the people above left at 5 am it woke me up but hey it could have been much noisier than it was. The king bed was comfortable. The air worked for us just fine & I am really picky.
Overall it was fine.
I almost want to give it four stars because the management was soo accommodating with my many questions and concerns but this is a good 3 star hotel. I will stay here again but I will ask for the same room.
ps I got wifi easily but the clerk said some rooms are better than others.
