Driveline was created to reduce your stress and frustration, eliminate the hidden unknowns, and save you time and money on your next vehicle acquisition. Rob takes a consultative approach to helping you select the right vehicle for your needs, including its option content; he will locate the vehicle, negotiate the «best deal» assuring the lowest price on your next car as well as the highest trade-​in value on your old one, and help with all financing and lease options. Robert Forbes, CPA founded Driveline after a career in High-​Tech software sales and public accounting to pursue a life long passion for all things automotive and a desire to change the dynamics of the typical automotive acquisition process. Noting many people do not enjoy the hassle and headaches of car shopping and negotiation, and that many dealers are prone to make buying a vehicle into an adversarial process: Rob felt the entire unpleasantness could be eliminated, and car buying could be fun!

Rob is a certified car guy: he is a member of many car clubs, actively campaigns two Vintage Race cars, restores cars, and is a true automotive aficionado. He will make your car buying experience the easiest and most pleasant he can.

I had never purchased a car through a broker before and was a bit skeptical. After reading the reviews, I decided to call Rob and it was a FANTASTIC decision. Rob makes the process simple, and his understanding of cars makes him a great consultant and partner in the process. I think Rob was even more excited than I was in getting the right car, with the right options, at the right price.
I, for one, am never going back to a dealer. As long as Rob’s in business, I know where I’ll be buying my next car.

I like looking for used cars, and enjoy the hunt. I was looking for a M3 with a manual transmission, but those are hard to come by. I searched for weeks. I couldn’t find one that matched the criteria I was looking for. I called Rob based on a recommendation from my manager. Rob was very honest and courteous. He told me up front that with the criteria I’m looking for, may take some time to set my expectations up front. With Rob’s dealer auction access, we were able to find a car quickly. He negotiated the price, was up front with all costs involved, and arranged transport of the car. The only snag was with the shipping company, but that was out of Rob’s hands. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase, and found the exact options I was looking for.
The only reason I left the one star out, was that Rob can only provide a written PO. Therefore, if you plan on financing your car, be sure to check with your bank and see if they accept hand written PO’s. Mine did not. Otherwise, you’ll have to pay cash up front, then finance later after the title is transferred. That was the only sticking point for me. Other than that, I would use Rob again.

I couldn’t recommend Rob and Driveline more highly. I live out of state and purchased a car consigned through Driveline sight unseen. Rob made the entire transaction very easy. When I arrived to pick up the car it was waiting outside for me in pristine condition. The other cars in the shop at the time were equally beautiful. While I am not a big car guy, the experience and the excellent condition and fair price of the cars made me wonder whether I really shouldn’t have two. I have since recommended Rob to others in the hunt for a great car and, were I to purchase another, I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

I bought a car from Rob on ebay that, unknown to him, had some issues with the title. Rob worked through the issue and provided a good title. He is an honest guy and was a pleasure to work with. He answered every question directly and even helped with transporting the vehicle. I would buy another car from Rob without hesitation.

I have never purchased a non-​certified used car that is not in warranty before. So, when I saw Driveline’s ad for a 6-​speed manual 2006 Porsche Cayman S with very low mileage on Rob’s advertisement I was both excited and a bit apprehensive. After some email and phone interactions with Rob I felt a lot more comfortable. Rob is very professional and very up front with providing relevant information. He quickly sent me the Carfax I requested and made arrangements that I could take the car to a Porsche mechanic for pre-​purchase inspection. Rob had the car smog-​checked and quickly prepared all the paperwork. He is a pleasure to do business with. I am very happy with the purchase. I know whom to go to now the next time I am on the market for another car.

I’ve bought three cars with Rob’s help. My wife wishes I would stop, but it’s hard because Rob makes it effortless to find exactly what I’m looking for. If you’d prefer to have better access to better cars, less contact with car salesmen and don’t mind having someone take care of all the negotiating and paperwork, Rob’s your man.

I met Rob thru my mechanic when I shared I wanted to sell my Boxster. I was relieved to know I could work with someone trustworthy and that would handle all the details around selling my car including taking care of the paperwork, advertising, negotiating, etc. Rob answered all my questions and was available and responsive on email and phone.
I was especially happy with the selling price he negotiated for the car. It was more than I expected. He has alot of abundance for everyone involved.

I was referred to Rob by a friend. I was working with a dealership over a period of weeks, but was unsuccessful in locating a car with all the options I wanted. After I connected with Rob, he found the car of my dreams in no time. He was able to negotiate the best deal for me and he made all the arrangements for me to accept delivery of the vehicle. He in fact picked me up and drove me to the dealership and provided good guidance for the financial side of the lease. He is trustworthly and lovely to work with. I plan to use his services in selling my old car. I would refer him to my friends and I plan to give him a call when this lease is up! I wouldn’t buy or sell another car without him.

I met Rob years ago through friends after he purchased cars for them. I recently had him sell my 2003 Accord. I didn’t want to go through the selling process of meeting strangers in a parking lot and going with them on test drives so I called Rob. It could not have been easier! He explained his fees, had the car detailed, checked out by a reputable mechanic (which just happened to be the same one I use!) and took care of all the paper work. He is honest and I trust him. Not easy to find these days. I would use him again.

I worked with Rob to purchase a used BMW via wholesale auction. I found him to be very pleasurable to work with and very patient. He is responsive both on email and by phone. It took a few months to find the right car, but I am extremely happy with the one he found.
Rob provides a detailed breakout of all the fees so the process is completely transparent. He also provides comparable data from recent auctions so that you can make your own judgement about what the fair value of your car should be.
Most importantly, Rob is honest. When I asked him to sell my old car at auction he gave me some tips and suggested that I could get more by selling it myself without too much effort. He was right and I came out ahead. He may have forfeited a fee by giving me that advice, but he has earned a customer for life.
