Specialties

I am an expert seamstress specializing in custom designs for the home. I have been sewing custom work for interiors in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 25 years. My clients have included interior designer and custom design shops. I also have 20 years as a workroom for Calico Corners.

I fabricate anything that’s needed for the home including bedding, window treatments, cushions, lampshades, tablecloths, etc. I specialize in fine detail, and can work from a picture, your ideas or my own extensive portfolio.

I offer help and advise in your home, by appointment.

History

Established in 1985.

I started as a workroom for Calico Corners in Redwood City in 1985, and continued with them when they moved to Burlingame until 2005. I developed my own clientele over the years, and have gotten much of my business through referrals. I work with many high end designers, who use my service because of my attention to detail. I enjoy the challenge of helping to create unique designs.

Cindy’s work is perfection. As an interior designer, I was thrilled to find Cindy. She has mastery knowledge of all things sewn, creative vision when helping you solve a problem, and enthusiasm for the quality of her work. She provides excellent and personal service, delivers without fail, and provides good value in her pricing compared to the few other seamstresses in the Bay Area who work at her level of accomplishment.

Making custom pillows with Cindy is FUN. I had ideas, and she coached me through the pros and cons of my choices – and together we came up with truly unique pillows to decorate my living room. If you are at a loss for ideas – don’t worry, you are in experienced sensible hands.
Her work, in a word, is exquisite, and absolutely on time (in fact a day early). Custom pillows are a luxury – but as they are in my home 24/​7, 365 days a year, for probabaly the next 10 years, this is less than pennies a day.
I may be moving out of the Bay Area, but I will not be giving up Cindy, as she has worked with other clients long distance.

Cindy’s work is exceptional. Her attention to every detail and knowledge of design makes her one of the best in the industry. She has completed a number of projects for me throughout the years and each project turned out beautiful. I am a stickler for perfection and Cindy delivers. Her attention to details is what makes her so good. If you want exceptional custom work Cindy Siegel is it. I’ve used many workrooms throughout the years, but now I use Cindy’s workroom exclusively. She takes the time to partner with you in review your design, concept and color selections. She has an excellent eye for color and for assisting with reviewing different ways to incorporate patterns, prints and solids into the overall look. Cindy has a great personality she’s easy to work with and she listens to understand what you are trying to achieve. Even if the design is a complicated (I’ve given her plenty of complicated designs) she will work with you to review the concepts and come up with a workable solution. I would recommend her work without hesitation.
