Description

Specialties

I’m an artist selling limited edition fine art prints to discerning collectors around the world.

I photograph whales at sea from a fine art perspective. My work might best be understood as a cross between the sensually evocative work of space and light artist James Turrell and the documentary /conservation work of oceanographer Jacques Cousteau. It is further informed by the minimalist philosophy and aesthetic of Zen Buddhism. I capture the otherworldly presence of these majestic creatures and their mysterious environment of the waters of Santa Monica Bay

Business Owner

William’s photography has been exhibited at Bergamont Station in Santa Monica, Downtown Los Angeles, Culver City Affair of the Arts, Beverly Hills Art Show, Sausalito Fine Art Festival, Southwest Art Festival and more. He has had photographic projects commissioned by California Polytechnic Institute, Pomona. His Fate is the Hunter photograph was awarded 2nd Place at the 2015 Sausalito Art Festival. His most recent project, Leviathan, began in 2013 and centers on documenting the power, beauty and vulnerability of migrating whales in the Santa Monica Bay. He works from his 30-foot sailboat Little Ahi, which is berthed in Redondo Beach. The project has yielded a series of extraordinary images that has been called the finest creative work William has ever produced. He continues to explore the primordial playground that is the sea, photographing until no new perspective remains unseen.
