Redondo Shores Veterinary Center

Dr. Cheng is so smart and super reasonable. Melody at the front desk coordinator is so sweet and always comes out to greet the dogs even my beefy Stafford terrier! You can tell Dr. Cheng knows her stuff and is very personable. I brought my foster dogs in and she so kindly took the time to write up a statement explaining her Cranial Cruciate Ligament Disease to give to potential adopters so I really appreciated the time she took on that! She is amazing I’m bringing all my future fosters and my own dogs to her from now on! She is amazing I suggest you switch to her or keep her as your primary because she is the upmost knowledgeable and reasonable vet in the South Bay! Trust me I’ve been around;)

I am so happy with everything about this office. The staff is amazing and Dr Cheng has been fantastic! I am a first time pet owner and I brought in my tiny and sick rescue kitten and Dr. Cheng took great care of her. My favorite thing is the amount of time she is willing to spend with me to answer all my questions and give me advice to make sure I am getting it all right. I have just rescued you a second kitten and am bringing in my little Journey to get looked at today. When I called about the struggle in introducing my kittens to each other, Jordan was so helpful with some advice and even sent me an email with some additional tips and information to help with the transition (talk about excellent customer service!). My sister took my new kitten to another vet in the South Bay for his initial visit when she first found him and when I went for his follow up I was reminded of why I love Redondo Shores. The other vet didn’t let me come back with him, it was a bit chaotic and the wait time was long, all things I have never experienced here. I would absolutely recommend this place!

Everyone here makes my girl feel happy and healthy, even when she’s at her worst. Whether she’s in need of booster shots, a plain old check up, some meds, or if she’s sick and having seizures, the staff here make the both of us feel comfortable in caring hands.

I have been to a few vets here in Redondo but this center is the only one that truly listens and is not rushed. Dr. Yelinek and Dr. Chang always take as much time as needed with us and treat us with care and compassion. I just had surgery for my 12 yr old dog and it’s the first time he recovered so quickly. He usually takes days to come out of anesthesia. They offer new remedies and the reception area is always stress free. Melodee and Jordan are front office staff and are so professional and nice. They know us without having to go through extra questions or even give them my phone number. They always respond quickly to requests and follow through with phone calls and emails. No stress, expert care, great staff, giving and compassionate.

So happy to find RSVC. I never have a long wait and when I get in the doctor really takes time to answer all questions. i never feel «rushed». I LOVEEEE that they offer sedation free teeth cleaning. The front staff is also fabulous! I will be a long time client.

Dr. Yelinek and his team provide excellent care for pets and are kind and compassionate. Dr. Yelinek will also make housecalls, which is a service that few vets offer. This can be so helpful if you have multiple pets or an animal that is difficult to transport. I have been his customer since long before he opened the Redondo Shores clinic. He is someone I can recommend without reservation.

Kind, friendly, and patient staff. Took care of my kitty even though she can be a handful during nail trimmings. The staff didn’t mind and helped me with every question I had.

I’ll start off by saying that I’ve moved a lot and moved vets a LOT. If I don’t get the right vibe, I won’t go back.
From the very first phone call to every visit I’ve had, I love everything about Redondo Shores.
My 7yo dachshund Delilah is my baaaby. (Aside from my human baby) I discovered one Saturday morning that she had an ear infection and after scrolling through some Unilocal reviews, and after calling a different vet and getting a rude receptionist, I fatefully landed on the number to Redondo Shores.
Not only were they super nice and warm, they were able to see Delilah RIGHT away. On a Saturday. For no emergency weekend fee. Gladly.
I went again today because my doxie seems to be having an issue with her back and left feeling SO much better and the visit didn’t break the bank.
What I love most about this place:
1. It doesn’t matter which veterinarian you get, they’re both AWESOME.
2. They’re very real with you. They don’t try to upsell you on things you don’t need. They’re honest and will tell you what your options are and what they think you really do need or not. This is huge for me because I’ve been to a few vets who were obviously trying to up their invoice amounts any way possible.
3. They have a personal touch. They are great about not making you feel like you’re just another face in the crowd. The girls in the front have excellent customer service and sent out a few welcome notes that were really cute and definitely made me feel good about going back.
Overall, I highly recommend them! And Ive never recommended any vet :-)

Love Redondo Shores Veterinary Center ! They treated my two kittens that ended up having ear mites and have saved the life of my moms dog when she was bleeding to death and diagnosed her condition. They fixed one of our cats and we have taken all of our animals here for the past 9 years. Nothing but good things to say about Redondo shores ! (: plus staff is very very very nice !!

I seriously can not think of one bad thing to say. I am a crazy puppy mom and a they totally make me feel like I’m normal. I can’t bring myself to take my pets anywhere else. I recently had to neuter a dog due to his aggression towards my other dog (not to mention the marking.) They took such good care of the 6 pound toy poodle, I really think he thought he was on a play date. They also called me to let me know what that the Elizabethan hard collar scared him so they had put a soft collar on him, the boy is very clumsy and I think the soft collar save him from breaking his next a few times. I don’t think the dog had much pain, the incision was tiny, and he was ready to run around and play when I picked him up in the afternoon. They took such great care of him, even making sure to call me the next day to ask how he was doing. (Of course he was fine, but it was nice to be able to ask them my plethora of questions the next day as I thought of them.) I really don’t think the dog needed any pain meds after the surgery, but I fed him his prescribed meds and he seems fine today on Post-​op day 4. Thank you for always taking care of my pets and putting me at ease. SImply the best!

I honestly feel that there is nothing I can do to truly thank Dr. Yelnik, Melodee, Angel, Dr. Cheng and the rest of the staff of Redondo Shores Veterinary hospital for their loving and attentive care throughout the years.
It’s been a lot of years, very good years filled with check ups and nail clipping, teeth cleaning and extractions, advice and guidance. Somewhere along the line friendships we’re forged and I would look forward to seeing my friends at the office, and Scotty would too. It’s that kind of environment. One of sincere caring and overwhelming love of animals.
Last week I wasnt lookong forward to visitng the office, my little loves health had been declining over time and my recent discovery of a tumor had me freaking out. Last week I had to face something I had been fearing for several months and somewhat in denial about, last week my little love left my side to continue his journey in the afterlife. I have to say that in our darkest, most vulnerable and bleak hour my Scott and I were enveloped in love and treated with the upmost respect and dignity. I will never forget this and will forever be grateful.
Thank you for all of the love and care over the years, and for the tenderness and sincere concern. Thank you for your friendship and for holding my hand and for holding space to process and grieve.

I’ve been going to Redondo Shores since I first brought my little Yorkie home. They are awesome, very caring and personable. They always remember me & Pia (the dog.) You can’t go wrong taking your pet here!

I brought my cat here for the first time a month ago. The facilities are bright, clean and welcoming with a few resident pets (which I always like to see). The support staff is very helpful and friendly, willing to respond to my followup questions and call in a repeat prescription to the compounding pharmacy they use down the street. Dr. Yelinek seemed quite knowledgeable as he, unfortunately, told me that Luke probably has a chronic condition that would require hydrating subcutaneously. That moment srrived today, and 2 very kind staff members taught me how to do this at home and provided the bag & needles, which I understand not every vet is willing to do. Thank you, Redondo Shores!!!

Everyone loves Oliver at Redondo Shores! That is what I want when I take my ailing cat Oliver for his claws clipped, routine check-​ups and his serious medical problems. He is always treated so kindly by Dr. Cheng and Dr. Yelinek and all the staff. Plus… they make house calls… so worth it when both my cats need treatment! I am very grateful for their dedication to the profession…

I cannot say enough good things about Redondo Shores, from the staff who answers the phone or greets you in the office (always the same people! Low turnover!) to the doctors themselves. Our pets, which have included a mouse with an infected eye, a Guinea Pig with a wood chip semi-​stuck into his soft palate, a Rhodesian Ridgeback (who required end-​of-​life care and a house call for humane euthanasia because he was unable to get in a car), a Black Lab mix with a cancer diagnosis and subsequent care, and a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog puppy who requires seemingly endless puppy-related…stuff.
Dr. Yelenik and his staff have provided care that was not only kind, gentle and loving with our beloved pets (how in the heck can somebody be so gentle with a squirmy little mouse? Or with a guinea pig that has those LONG teeth — and then not charge because it took just a second to dislodge the woodchip? EVERYBODY charges, and they didn’t!) but they’ve provided care for our pets that was kind, gentle and HONEST with us, as well.
Dr. Yelenik and staff have been so honest when things are likely to get expensive, they’ve let us know what isn’t as necessary to help save a bit of money and, most importantly, they have been BEYOND kind — in a lovely, non-​patronizing way — when our pets aren’t going to make it and need humane, loving treatment at the end of their lives. They make sure to stay a few minutes longer so I can make it there to grab a needed prescription or fit in a quick visit. They charge much less for the same services than their competitors while still maintaining a beautifully clean office. In short: They. Are. Awesome.
I live in Manhattan Beach and would so much rather go to a local vet; there are at least 3 in town that are highly recommended. That said, I will HAPPILY drive down to Redondo so they can care for our pooches. These people rock.

The entire staff at Redondo Shores is excellent. I have two cats and have been taking them there for almost five years. While my cats may not appreciate the vet visits I sure do. Every person who works there is nice and cares about your animals. I always get a follow up call (for anything other than a check up) to see how my pets are doing. They are super accommodating with your schedule too. If I need to bring them in but can’t wait because of work, I can drop them off for the visit and pick them up later. Plus, I have one of my cats groomed there because she can get anesthesia (I mentioned they didn’t like vet visits right…) But like I said, great staff and great care. I couldn’t recommend them more.

Everyone at RSVC is great. They are always friendly and helpful. The doctors are terrific with my doc and treat him special. They don’t over treat or recommend unnecessary treatments and they are fair with pricing. I hightly recommend Redondo Shores if you need a vet for your pet.

Dr. Yelinek and his whole staff are awesome. Since I have an older dog, I have been there a lot for various things. Recently my dog needed surgery to have a toe amputation. Dr. Yelinek broke down all the facts in a very kind way; you can tell he loves his job and just wants to help animals. And the entire office was in awe when my dog was able to walk in the door!
Most importantly, he is willing to listen and help you work thru the financial part of it. He came up with a plan that addressed the most immediate concerns first. I love that!

I was referred to Redondo Shores by our dog trainer. Our dog is difficult to take to the vet since he is extremely reactive to other dogs and also gets car sick very easily. Redondo Shores accommodates us by giving him the first appointment after lunch and also helping me be sure there are no other dogs when he comes and goes. I appreciate this SOOO much as it reduces stress for both me and my dog!
As far as the care goes, I’ve been twice and so far the care has been good, they seem to spend a good amount of time with our dog and to take detailed notes and understand our concerns and needs. We see Doctor Cheng, our dog likes her and the other staff very much, which also helps it to be a good experience for him.

Location Is Perfect!
Our cats were rescues and extremely skittish of strangers and panicky about going in the car. Redondo Shores Veterinary Center is conveniently located so that the trip is not too stressful. They have treated Max and Sam for everything from regular checkups to melanoma and the care has always been excellent at every level. The staff is extremely professional and very nice people. They have even been able to trim Max’s nails which is something I’ve been bloodied trying! We feel very comfortable with Dr. Yelinek and his entire staff.
