My mom and I always stop at their booth at the Del Mar Fair in San Diego. This was our first time actually getting jewelry with our pearl and they are beautiful. They are super nice employees and everything is very reasonably price. As a kid I loved being able to pick out my own clam and getting a beautiful pearl(or two) to keep. I still stop by to pick a clam. This year I got a ring with my pearl and my mom got her pearl in a necklace. We both love it and they were able to make the jewelry on the spot which was even better, just a short 45 minute wait time for such beautiful jewelry. My mom and I ha e decided to take all my pearls I’ve gotten from them over the years and go to their store to get them all made into jewelry. I love the employees and the beautiful work they do making the pearls into jewelry and how they let you have fun by picking your own clam.

Polite employees. Reasonable prices for the settings. Pretty pearls, but after watching several oysters opened, all were basic and common.

While we were at the beach we decided to do some touristy stuff. They happen to have a bunch of these pick your own oyster and get a guaranteed pearl. It’s a flat cost of $ 11 per oyster. This place has the prime spot of the first as you arrive, but his set up is the most welcoming. There are some more as you come in, but just seemed a bit more shady. It’s kind of like a mini lottery, as you don’t know what you’re going to get. After he cracks open the shell, he cleans it and values it for you. Now, I doubt you’ll ever get that valuation, but you do get a pretty keepsake.

Love this place! Been coming here for years and it never disappoints! I got another blue/grey pearl that’s just gorgeous! Will continue to come here for years to come. Miss the original owner Tommy. Hope he’s enjoying his retirement. :-)

Nice little shop on the pier. Very friendly and informative service. I ended up fetching an oyster with dark twin pearls. They were equal size too, so we made a pair of earrings. $ 11.50 for the oyster and I think $ 14.99 for the stud earrings.

Had a great experience at this store. A pearl in every oyster. First oyster picked, got a black pearl, second oyster picked had double white pearls. The jeweler on duty crafted a beautiful ring with my new pearls. I love it and every time I wear the ring I think about my trip to CA.

My sister and I did this when she came to visit it. It was fun and a super cute souvenir to remember her visit. The woman working there was really friendly and knowledgeable about where everything came from.

Went there today to get my first oyster and I got two pearls, a beautiful gold cream. They were so pretty and the selection for different ring, earring, and necklace settings is great. The quality is awesome too. The staff is very knowledgeable, Craig, was amazing he was able to answer all my questions and very friendly! I will definitely be back soon.

I love this place! The excitement of seeing what your gem will look like is so exciting! You get to choose what clam you’d like and you get whatever pearl is inside($ 11 but your guaranteed a pearl).

I got some pearls from here and they are beautiful. An oyster gave me a blue/grey pearl, another gave me a yellow pearl, and the last oyster gave me twins! I made the twins into earings and making the other two pearls into a necklace. I’m excited! :)

Kobe Pearls is an amazing place to get affordable, unique and beautiful jewelry, not to mention it’s just a really neat experience to watch a beautiful gemstone be extracted from a farm-raised shellfish right before your very eyes! I’ve been to other«pick-your-oyster» companies, but this one’s the best, not only due to the great prices but also the wonderful costumer service :) Most recently I went here to get my bridesmaids some unique and special gifts – a pearl with a simple necklace loop – and was pleasantly surprised to see that I spent under $ 30 per woman: what a GREAT price for a totally unique and wearable gift… these are pieces of jewelry that will NOT be collecting dust, that I can assure you Special shout out to Craig(no relation to the Kobe’s, but just as nice!) who helped me put together 5 great unforgettable gifts for some very special ladies. THANKS!

The finish on my ring started to fade and had a grainy feeling to it. I found the booth at the LA County Fair and asked them about this and they told me not to worry; that all I needed to do was have the ring polished and the silver underneath the plating would shine again. Thanks for the tip!

I have always visited and purchased pearls from them at the LA co fair. They have always been quick, nice and professional. After so many years of outstanding service, I decided to bring in a set of fresh water pearls to see if they could repair them. Peggy at Kobe was so wondering she told me that although they specialize in saltwater pearls, they could repair my freshwater pearls. She told me she would have to drop them off at the shop and pick them up the following week. Well I guess the guys were able to repair it quicker than first thought the because they were ready 5 days later and she brought them back to the fair so that I didn’t have to drive down to Redondo. They cleaned and polished them and the resting was 1000 Xs better than the original job. They looked so pretty that it made me cry! I truly wish I could give them more stars !!

When an owner is directly involved in his business its always a plus, but when he is one of the nicest people on Redondo and loves to see people smile and have a good time. Well that’s just a great place, we have bought over a dozen pearls here and I will keep coming back!

This year is the 2nd time I’ve visited their booth @ the LA County Fair — and have now started a tradition with my mother and will continue with my daughter once she’s born w/i the week. I love the patience and the friendliness of the couple who run the booth(almost scared the lady when I told her how soon I was going to deliver) but she was really nice and wished me luck. I can’t wait to go back sooner than next year to have my pearls set as earrings/pendant/ring… and to show them my newborn daughter!

Kobe Pearl comes around to the San Diego Fair every year and it’s my pearl stand of choice! The couple that runs it are always sweet and patient. I love how they size and price the pearls for you. The pearl and settings are affordable(definitely cheaper than the Pearl Factory).
