Help 2 Move

These guys were amazing! After realizing that my new apartment was too small for all of my stuff I decided to get a storage unit. They arrived at my apartment on time, took everything to the moving truck, and drove to the storage place in an hour. At the storage place, the elevator broke down with one of the guys in it. I thought for sure they were going to call it quits. Nope. They carried all of my stuff up three flights of stairs and it still took them almost no time to do so. They were amazing, nice, and accommodating. If I ever move again, they will be the first people I call! I cannot thank them enough!

Antonio and his crew were great. I moved across country using a POD. When I needed to change the start time they were very accommodating. They arrived on time and got the job done on time. They were professional, respectful, and friendly. All in all I’d say this was the easiest move I’ve ever had!

I’m surprised people didn’t mention that Help 2 Move are by far the best bargain in the South Bay. The first Redondo Beach mover I called had a 3 hour minimum at $ 94 per hour for 2 people. The second had a 2 hour minimum at $ 95 per hour. The third had a 3 hour minimum at $ 95 per hour. After getting quotes from 3 companies, I assumed the standard was a 2 – 3 hour minimum at $ 94-​$ 95 per hour. I called Help 2 Move next and they quoted 2 hour minimum at $ 65 per hour because I lived close by. I was shocked at the quote and assumed the service would be so-​so, but I was willing to hire a so-​so company since the price was significantly less. Turns out, they were more professional than all previous movers I hired. I can’t imagine ANYONE wanting to hire other movers that are much more expensive particularly when Help 2 Move was so professional. They were on time and were very cautious about not hitting walls and not damaging my furniture. For the price, they deserve to get ALL South Bay business.

My boyfriend and I were planning on moving most of our belongings on our own. However, we were given the keys to our new place a couple days later than originally planned. So, the day before our move, we decided to hire some help. But, after paying our security deposit and rent, we were really looking to keep additional moving costs down.
We talked to a couple companies, and then decided on Help 2 Move. Antonio went over the pricing with us, which seemed reasonable. I have hired movers in Chicago before, and they were amazing. I was expecting the same from these guys– at least a similar experience considering the cost, but I was slightly disappointed. Here are the reasons why…
1. The Help 2 Move guys lacked a sense of urgency. If you are a patient person, this might not bother you much, since they really take the time to make sure nothing gets damaged. But, we told them our things are not valuable, and that we just wanted to keep things moving. Time’s-a-ticking, they charge by the hour, and we had a ton of stuff to do before the day was over. Minus one star here.
2. This next reason might be slightly more our fault– we kept adding pieces of furniture for them to move. But, they were taking their sweet time to assess and reassess how they were going to load furniture into the truck. And, they took the bed in and out of the truck a couple times. Even after we decided they were going to need to make 2 trips, they were talking, assessing, planning, talking, assessing. Wtf.
3. So, I think most moving companies might do something like this– Antonio rounds up to another hour, 10 minutes after the hour. Meaning, if they are there for 3 hours and 10 minutes, they charge you for 4 hours. No problem, right? They happened to have perfect timing at 5 hours and 12 minutes. Huh, that’s weird. Let’s go back…
Before Antonio and his 2 movers left for our new apartment, I asked him if he knew where he was going. He said yes, but then got lost supposedly. My bf was already at the other place. I called him when the movers left, and he called me back when they showed up. They took 43 minutes to drive there, but it’s a 13 minute trip. 20 minutes maximum if you’re driving reeeeeallly slow. (Actually, my bf has walked from one place to the other in about 50 minutes). Maybe it’s the no sense of urgency thing again.
What really upset us about this is that Antonio ACTUALLY TRIED TO BILL 6 HOURS, for 5 hours and 12 minutes including drive time and SLOW WORK. When my bf reminded him of the extended time it took for the first trip, he still insisted on trying to charge us for the extra hour. Of course, my bf refused to pay for the extra time they wasted driving around.
Overall, I say they were OK. The actual movers did a pretty good job. But, there was too much dragging and assessing, and not enough action. The next time we move, we’ll probably rent our own uhaul (which is what they used), and hire some guys looking for work outside of 7-​eleven. My bf has done this, and says they are motivated at a flat rate to get the work done fast!

We moved several times. These guys were by far the best. They were very professional. Antonio and his partner moved our stuff with great care. They reached on time. Their service was exceptional. They were reasonable too. I would highly recommend them.

These guys are fantastic. They quoted 3 – 4 hours and got it done in 3! Not only were there stairs involved but narrow doorways as well. They were very professional and Antonio was incredibly helpful. None of our items were damaged and they moved all of our big/​awkward sized heavy furniture easily. I felt comfortable letting them work without worrying about where items were being placed. Not to mention they have very reasonable pricing considering they have contracted employees doing the work. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I am very pleased with the services I received from Help 2 Move. Very professional and on time, they took care of my personal belongings with the most care. I highly recommend them and would use their services again.
