History
Established in 2012.
Prior to becoming a doula and childbirth educator, I studied music (earning a Bachelor’s of Music Performance in 2003). I went on to work in a wellness clinic working with individuals, empowering them to lead a healthy lifestyle. After giving birth to my two children in an empowered way, with a great care provider and loving support, I began hearing stories from friends and family about their own births. I heard repeated stories of women who had not felt heard or listened to during their births, felt unsupported and generally had a bad experience during such a sacred time. I felt a calling to help women and partners find a better way: To teach them prenatally about their options, support them through labor/birth, encourage them and treat each mom/partner/birth individually. One size fits all does not work in birth.
Thus…Embraced Beginnings was born!
Meet the Business Owner
Tasha B.
Business Owner
I am a DONA Trained Birth Doula and ICEA Trained Childbirth Educator. I have additional training in acupressure for pregnancy/labor, reflexology and reiki. I support moms and their partner before, during and after birth. Empowering and supporting each mother’s birthing desires is my goal. I attend births in hospital, birth center, or at home. I want each mother to feel supported, cared for and empowered when birthing her baby.
I have been drawn to women’s health, nutrition and the power of healing touch for as long as I can remember. I thought about becoming a birth doula before getting pregnant with my first child. Once I was pregnant I decided to wait until my baby was born and a little older. Four years later as the happy mom to two children, I still felt a deep desire to serve women during labor and childbirth. I became a birth doula in September 2012 and a Childbirth Educator in May 2013. Additionally I hold a Bachelor’s in Music Performance from Florida State University.
