As most of us know, it is awful when one of our appliances goes out. We start imagining having to buy a new appliance or having to pay for costly repairs. I was told a years ago by one repairman that most people choose to just buy a new appliance rather than fix their old one, and that’s why he had to charge $ 80 for a service call. So when my old dryer stopped heating, I was torn between calling a repairman or just buying a new washer and dryer.
Since I don’t know of any appliance repair places off hand, I decided to look on Unilocal for businesses in my area. I narrowed it down to two places based on the reviews. Both places had good and bad reviews so I wasn’t completely sold on either place. I called and one place told me $ 85 to come out and the other place was $ 120. I had a feeling that was the going rate, but the thought of paying around $ 100 when I might decide against the repair made me hesitate.
As I pondered my dilemma, my friend tells me that her dishwasher went out and that she called Edward because she had called around too and he had the lowest service call price of $ 35. Wow $ 35??? That’s like ¹⁄₃ of everyone else’s price! It was totally worth paying $ 35 to find out if my dryer was trash or not!
So I make an appointment with Edward and he gives me a window of time of between 10 and 12. That morning I called just to see if he had a better idea if it would be closer to 10 or 12, and he says 12 which was great because i had other things to do.
Edward showed up just before noon as promised. Within a couple of minutes he says he knows what’s wrong, has the part, and can fix it for $ 140, and that’s including the service call! He says my dryer is an oldie but a goodie and is totally worth fixing! Yay!
Before fixing my dryer, Edward explained that the heating mechanism probably went out because my dryer vent is clogged. He turned on my dryer and took me outside to show me that no air was blowing through the vent like it’s supposed to. He told me that I needed to have someone come and clean the vent otherwise the drying mechanism will go out again. Who knew! Within half an hour Edward was finished and my dryer was working!
I’m not sure if Edward travels out of the area, but if you live in the South Bay, and need a good appliance repairman, call Edward!

Had to have two appliances repaired. They were prompt very informative and was a pleasure to work with them. They have a new fan!

I did not end up using Edward for repair due to warranty and recall from the manufacturer but am so impressed by the time he spent with me on the phone and his level of knowledge regarding the appliance (Bosch dishwasher in this instance). I will certainly keep him on speed dial for any future issues. I called around to several repair businesses and got nothing like the level of service Edward gave me over the phone. He’s a gentleman and has earned my future business and referrals hands down.

My dishwasher suddenly died after a recent power outage so I called Edward’s to come out and diagnose the problem. They were supposed to come between 11am — 1pm but showed up around 10am when I was at the gym. My son happened to be home so they looked at the dishwasher anyway. I guess I should say they looked under the sink, not bothering to do any type of testing or inspection of the electrical components of the dishwasher itself. For this we were charged $ 35 (which I had been told would be applied to any labor costs incurred) and given a quote for $ 428 to replace both the keypad and internal electrical components. I do not understand how they could possibly know that both needed to be replaced simply by looking under the sink. But then again, I wasn’t there to ask any questions. Since this was almost half the cost of a new dishwasher we opted to buy a new one. When I called Edward’s to ask how much they would charge to install the new dishwasher I was told between $ 120 – 150, but since they would have to make a second trip out to our house they refused to give us credit for the $ 35 we had already paid them. Hmm… wouldn’t they have had to come back anyway had we decided to have them fix the old one?

I LOVE THIS PLACE! My GE refrigerator went down and they came out quickly, charged a fair price, and repaired it promptly. (After I had tried 2 other places that wanted to either rip me off or take 5 days to get here.) The guy on the phone gave me his assessment, and then Jerry the repair guy was lovely and did a thorough job.

I called Edwards when our fridge defrosted really quickly and came home to a huge puddle of water on the floor. He came out soon after I called and fixed it all within 30 minutes for a very good price. He was very nice & I had good conversation with him while he was there. He explained to me what he was doing and showed me exactly what was wrong with the fridge. I thought it was very nice of him to take the time to do that. I would DEFINITELY call on him again. Edward was thorough and price reasonable. Very pleased with his service.

My dishwasher stopped working and had an error code. I called another place who sais that they would «research and look into the error code and would give me a call to come out and fix it». 2 days later and still did not hear back.
So I looked up Unilocal and found Edward. Called Edward on Fri afternoon and he was able to come check the appliance Monday afternoon. Within 30 seconds, he knew exactly what the problem was, what he needs to do to fix it. Upon my agreement on the cost, he fixed it and got it working within 30 min.
I also had an oven that hasnt been working for months and Edward was able to fix it as well.
All in all, Edward is knowledgeble, provided great customer service, promptly.

Called late one night and got ahold of Edward. Said he could be at our home the next morning to fix our refrigerator Was prompt and able to repair our appliance that day. Would definitely use his services for my next appliance repair.

I called Edward at 5:06pm on a Friday desperate to get our 10 year old washer fixed. He agreed to come over on his way home, fixed the washer in 20 mins! Nice, professional and honest. He’s our go to guy for now on.

Great service. Called Edward’s Appliances Sunday and they were out Monday morning. Ended up I didn’t need a repair, just needed the washer to reset itself. They had a real opportunity to make some money off of me, because I’m clueless about that sort of thing, but they shot me straight and even gave me some pointers on how to increase the life of the machine. They are now in my contacts list.

Easy appointment booking and all expectations are made clear on the initial phone call. Edward showed up right on time and was polite, professional and very fair. He quickly found the problem with my range vent hood and had it repaired within the hour. He also gave some great advice for issues I was having with my dishwasher and solved the problem. Sears quoted almost $ 400 to performed the repair. They were ½ the cost! Best value.

I couldn’t be any happier with the Service I got from Edward. I called on a Sunday, and by Monday evening he was at the house to work on my oven. He had all the parts in stock just like he said he would, and I got it fixed and out real quickly. Plus he’s really clean, and very, very pleasant to work with.
The cost was no more than I would’ve paid anybody else, but I didn’t have the long wait followed by I’ll need to order a part, followed by I’ll be back next week.
I would highly recommend afterward!

Edward’s Appliances was great! I called and setup an appointment for the next day. They showed up at the beginning of the appointment window, diagnosed the problem and had my ice maker working again within 45 minutes.
Definitely would use them again and definitely would recommend them to anyone needing appliance repairs!

Edward is fantastic! I called him on a Friday, and he came out right away. He picked up the part for my Kenmore Fridge and replaced the housing filter the same day.
He took the time to answer my questions and even took photos of the work for my insurance company. Five star service all the way. From now on, I will be calling him to repair ANY of my appliances. Highly recommended and HONEST.

Edward was amazing. The buzzer kept turning on on our stove, and I was always able to turn it off, except this time. It wouldn’t stop buzzing no matter what I did. As you can imagine, this was extremely annoying, especially as I work from home. Edward came over within the hour and had it fixed in 15 minutes — despite the over 20 screws he had to take out to get to it!
Very nice, funny and super helpful with tips on how best to use and clean the oven — he went above and beyond to help me keep my sanity! :)
I will definitely keep his number handy should anything go wrong with any of the other appliances in our house — he definitely knows his stuff!

Needed a repair person for my Bosch dishwasher. Bosch’s soonest appt was Wed but Edwards was the same day. Plus his initial call rate was $ 35 vs Bosch’s $ 99.
Edward came out and fixed the dishwasher in about 20 minutes. It was more than I wanted to pay considering it was a faulty cord ground wire but he did run within his 2 hour time frame. Due to the Unilocal reviews about timeliness, I did continue to call each 45 minutes to ensure he was still heading my way. As a tip that’s all I would suggest: If he’s running a lil late just give him a call.

My microwave broke and I found Edward on Unilocal.He came to my home the next day. Edward was very honest with me in telling me it would cost more to fix it than to just purchase a new one. He was very helpful in guiding me towards a new oven and where to get one. I highly recommend Edward’s Appliances and would definitely use him again, if ever needed.
