Seeing Anne was a really a great experience. She was not only detailed in her process and her explanations to me she was also very kind and pleasant. Would recommend her not only for children but for young adults like myself as it was a real pleasure to be seen by Anne. 5 stars all around from the office to the staff to the doctor.

Dr. Simon graduated and did her residency and fellowship in the best American schools/​hospitals. She obviously is very competent in her field: pediatric ophthalmology. And she is very nice with children and their parents. Best of all she cares and is very honest. I highly recommend her.

We waited for one hour in the waiting room after arriving early for my 11 yr old sons appointment, then when inquiring about the wait time and office policy i had my questions rudely answered by the office staff and the Dr. herself.
Finally, my son was given a basic exam and the Dr. spent approx 20 min with him in total. The Dr. suggested a slight prescription for eyeglasses would be appropriate. One week later we received a explanation of benefits from our insurance carrier and the practice billed for almost $ 500.00. We never got the glasses prescription filled obviously, and immediately sought a second opinion. Subsequently the second opinion practice prescribed some Claritin eye drops that has solved my sons vision issues.
He now has no vision problems.

She is short tempered, moody, and eccentric… and one of the best eye doctors in southern California!.. diagnosed my child as a baby. No child eye doctor can compete, the rest are all posers. My child smiles at every new prescription she applies. Client for life…

Dr. Simon always make our visits fun and quick. The office is very welcoming and clean. Dr Simon is a class act professional. Our 3yr old daughter has been a patient since she was born. Lots of entertainment for the kiddos in the waiting room. Plenty of parking.

Dr. Simon is AMAZING! She is a perfect fit for both of my daughters. She is on time, exams are thorough and she is compassionate. I couldn’t ask for more in pediatric Opthamologist! The office is beautiful and kid friendly. Parking is easy. Basically, Dr. Simon rocks!

I went in to see about strabismus (lazy eye) surgery. Dr Simon told me that she could do it but I should get my cataract removed first.
Apparently I had an undiagnosed traumatic cataract for 10+ years that we traced back to a baseball injury from school. My yearly visits with my optometrist proved to be asinine. They knew something was wrong with my eye but we’re too lazy to see what it was. Dr Simon saw it within minutes.
A year after getting the cataract removed I went back to Dr Simon and she performed the surgery.
Needless to say, I look and feel better than I ever have. New confidence, new me. My eyes are perfectly straight and you can’t tell that I ever had surgery.

Dr. Simon is excellent! We’ve been seeing for a year now, and she is consistently knowledgeable, patient and friendly — she’s great with kids (and parents!). She takes the time to explain the options and answer questions. When we drive around her office, our child asks to see her! We really appreciate her compassion and expertise.

My son has been seeing Dr. Simon since he was born almost 11 years ago. He was born with blocked tear ducts which she monitored closely then eventually had to perform surgery on both eyes right before his first birthday. Dr. Simon has a very pleasant bed side manner, has a nice calmness about her, is so knowledgable, and has such a way with kids that you just love her. Dr. Simon will always be our only eye doctor /​specialist for our family and highly recommend her to family, friends, and whomever stumbles upon here on Unilocal

We’ve been going to Dr. Simon since my daughter was born, 12 years ago, on a referral by our pediatrician. She is extremely intelligent, professional, and friendly. Her office is usually a well-​oiled machine — so be on-​time — although occasionally, like any medical office where a patient’s unique needs can’t be limited to a 10 minute appointment, things run behind. My daughter has a lot of health issues and Dr. Simon takes the time to check-​in on the whole picture during the visit. She also speaks directly to my daughter, not through her to me, and encourages her to take responsibility for her own medical history. I appreciate that and agree wholeheartedly. She also seems to remember our last conversation and picks up where we left off, even though it has often been several months since we visited. I don’t know any other medical provider with this kind of memory or personalized level of engagement!
We have learned that children’s eye care is not the same as adult eye care in terms of treatment and insurance coverage. Many of the reviews on this site are unrelated to Dr. Simon and are instead either frustration about insurance or the realities of children’s eye care. Sure, your adult glasses are probably covered and a routine check-​up is a hundred bucks but this is different. I very much appreciate how much all of the high-​tech diagnostic equipment, specialized schooling, and even the extensive inventory of child-​sized glasses must have cost. And the results for my daughter have been spectacular.

Dr Simon is great. I wanted to write an honest review after reading some other reviews on here that commented on the strictness of her office.
My daughter has been her patient for 2 years and just recently had surgery for strabismus. Dr Simon worked her hardest and exhausted every possible option before recommending surgery. I always felt like she was very thorough. During the whole surgery procedure Dr Simon cared for my daughter so well, but she also went above and beyond by giving me words of encouragement. She noticed when I looked stressed and would talk to me about it, even though I’m not the patient. This helped me feel more comfortable with the whole procedure. She understands how much parents care about their kids.
Yes, her office is strict. If your kid is messing around she will correct them. Anyone that has an office full of expensive, custom, children’s medical equipment had the right to keep kids in line. Kids should not be climbing around during their appointment. She will also move on to the next patient if you are unavailable when she calls your name (bathroom trips included). But, she’s the doctor and she can run her practice without gaps if that’s what she prefers. If you know that this is how she operates then you can be prepared and be available when she calls you back.
Some of her office staff can be unfriendly at times, but at other times they have been great. I’m not sure what comment to make on them other than to say it’s hit or miss, it’s nothing personal.
I will continue to use Dr Simon for my daughter because she’s the best around. She is highly specialized for treating children and she is very thoughtful, thorough, and caring. She can be strict but that’s how she keeps her BUSY office running as smoothly as possible. Her meticulous nature makes her an amazing surgeon. I will always recommend her services.

Our sweet baby girl was born last Friday with a bump in the corner of her left eye. We were immediately in love but also worried as to what this bump was, if it would affect her vision and if she would need surgery.
We were referred to Dr. Simon by our pediatrician in the hospital. Our baby was born on Friday and Dr. Simon was able to see us Monday — such a huge relief as new parents to have this sort of immediacy and feedback.
On Monday afternoon we went in so nervous. Dr. Simon immediately diagnosed our daughter with a blocked tear duct filled with amniotic fluid. She was so calm and professional about the diagnosis we were immediately more at ease. Then she told us the solution was simple and that she could likely just push the fluid from the tear duct and it would come through our daughter’s sinus cavity, problem solved
Well, less than two minutes later the fluid was out, our daughter’s bump was gone and we saw her face unblemished for the first time. Dr. Simon then made sure her vision and nerves were intact before sending us on our way. We literally cried tears of relief and happiness on the way home.

Loved Dr Simon. She saw my son at one year and was amazing with him. If all pediatric doctors could be like her. She really took the time. She’s not pushing patients in and out so some could take longer.
I gave a four star instead of a five as there was a ton of paperwork that could have easily been emailed to us and brought in completed. I did sense a bit of a tone from the office lady waiting on me. Not sure why, it seemed like a great place to work and not terribly busy.
Waiting room was unique with a great sensory vibe and plenty of toys for little and older.

Dr Anne Simon is the BEST!!! My 4−½ year old son has been going to her for the past few years and I’ve always had nothing less than a great experience with her and her staff. Dr Simon is so great with my son, and never makes me feel like she’s rushing through our appt. She always takes as much time as needed to answer my questions and hear my concerns. Even if my son may have been acting up on one or 2 appts, she was always very patient. What I find most amazing for a doctor’s office, is that I NEVER have to wait for my appt… it’s unbelievable how she manages to take care of her patients as well as she does, yet never keeps you waiting. Her staff is always friendly and helpful, and I love her new office! My son would play with the toys in the waiting room for hours if he could. I would highly recommend Dr. Simon to anyone looking for a great eye doctor and experience!

Dr. Simon is a wonderful and caring doctor. She genuinely cares for her patients and wants nothing but the best for them. Her office is beautiful and the staff is friendly and great!

Sadly this was not a happy experience for us. Dr. Simon has a brand new clean and well stocked office with lots of toys for the kids. She seems to have a gentle touch and was calm with the baby. We won’t be going back. Aside from the constant condescending tone that seems to be the office party line we had some issues with our billing that put me off from ever doing business here again.
When we called to make the appointment and check to see if they were in our insurance network as a first time patient we were quoted a office visits of $ 125. We had multiple and frustrating billing issues (I will spare you the details) that landed us with a total bill for $ 425 when all said and done. We were charged for an office visit, eye exam & refraction. That’s standard, the baby received a clear bill of health from the doctor.
Cons: Miss quoted cost, condescending tone, bull dog billing tactics, unnecessary headache, overall negative experience.
Pros: New & clean office space. (p.s. FYI, there are no changing tables in the restroom for the little ones. Plan accordingly.)

Dr. Simon is FANTASTIC and has been the only eye doctor for my 3 children, for over 18 years. If you need a Pediatric Ophthalmologist, Anne Simon is the best! She is extremely caring, conscientious, observant, and conservative to her approach. Her medical expertise and calm soothing speaking tone, makes her a great fit for parent and child. She engages and connects with your child in a comforting way explaining each step of the exam. Dr. Simon will not hesitate to send your child to a specialist if she sees anything slightly out of the ordinary.
The office wait time has always been reasonable and the office staff very professional. If an unscheduled eye concern comes up, Dr. Simon and her staff always make time for us to be seen. Parking is easy.
During a routine eye exam for my daughter when she was10 yrs., she noticed my son 3 yrs. at the time, had a lazy eye, and immediately checked his eyes after my daughter’s appointment. After a short duration wearing an eye patch, his eye situation was resolved. If Dr. Simon had not connected with my son, while sitting at his sister’s appointment, been observant and caring, his amblyopia might have been discovered too late to require such an easy fix!
I highly recommend Dr. Simon!

Dr Simon sees my 3 year old son and has helped him achieve ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision. We overall we like her and she knows what she is doing.
The gum ball toy treat dispenser is such a great idea!
The Lego table in the waiting room is super dirty and gross.

Doctor Simon is a great doctor. She has been taking care of my daughter for over a year now. She is very patient with children and has a great attitude. The waiting area is very modern and has book and toys for kids to play. Great looking office and staff is very polite.
The person who handles the glasses is very professional. She recommended special frames for my daughter that look great on her. I won’t go to anyone else besides her.

Front desk always messes up your copays as if they don’t have a computer, and check-​in check-​out takes eternity.
The office is all about MONEY MONEY MONEY. kids exams and glasses cost more than adult’s exams and transitional lenses.
Dr. Simon displays attitudes when you’re only 10 minutes late to the appointment (sorry but «last minute baby crisis» happens!!) yet it’s perfectly okay for her patients to wait almost an hour. She’ll spend 2 – 3 minutes with you each visit and recommends some outrageously overpriced add-​ons for eye care, on top of unnecessary treatments/​eye drops that costs us more than $ 50 each visit.
I regret twisting my ped’s arms to change his referral to this office, when he didn’t even recommend her. Dr. Simon’s friends and family may rave about her, but we’re not fans…
