Fairwinds-Redmond Retirement Community

Nice place.

When I was looking for a place to settle my 86 year old mother, I visited many retirement/​assisted living facilities and they all seemed to be quiet, with piped in music and dozing seniors in the lobby. Then I walked into Fairwinds Redmond. The lobby was noisy and bright and filled with lively, vibrant seniors — chatting, drinking coffee, eating cookies, laughing, checking the internet and reading the newspapers. Every resident has a concierge they are linked to. The concierge looks in on your parent, runs errands, problem solves and makes Fairwinds a warm, welcoming place. The food is ample and good, although a little bland. The carrot cake is fantastic. They accept small pets. There are lots of scheduled trips and many, many events. Sing-​alongs in the lobby. Parties. Craft sales. Regular transportation to shopping. Help carrying groceries. Lovely facility. Comfortable apartments. I never regretted settling my Mom there and she was very happy too.
