Description

Specialties

Our mission is to improve the bodies, minds, and spirits of children and adults with disabilities through equine-assisted therapies, and to be an inspiration and educational resource to the therapeutic riding profession, both regionally and nationally.

History

Established in 1976.

Little Bit was founded in 1976 by Margaret Dunlap, an equestrian who realized that time on her horse delayed the progression of her Multiple Sclerosis. Beginning with just 4 riders and one horse (named Little Bit), the organization has since grown into a national leader in the field of therapeutic horsemanship.

In 2013 Little Bit moved from their longtime Woodinville facility into their new home in Redmond, Little Bit Dunmire Stables. With this expansion the organization will be growing their community in order to provide services to more individuals with disabilities and to decrease their current waiting list.
