History

Established in 2005.

We’ve already given private musical instrument lessons to hundreds of kids in the area. We’ve taught a couple dozen up-​and-​coming bands how to get their act together and take it on the road. We’ve helped them take it on the road at our highly-​attended Rockcitals. We’ve taught many of them to stand up and sing beautifully even after so many people in their lives had told them that they couldn’t hit a single note correctly. We’ve given a lot of shy, introverted kids the power and self-​esteem to get up in front of large crowds and express themselves. At the same time, we’ve given outgoing, hyperactive kids a positive, safe, and fun way to use their extra energy. Simply stated, Dace’s Rock ‘n’ More Music Academy has already given hundreds of kids –and a few dozen adults too– in the Maple Valley area musical experiences and opportunities that did not even exist anywhere just a few years ago.

Dace found out that playing Van Halen guitar solos is fun and pretty cool at the age of 14.

By 15 he realized that being able to strum a chord or two while entertaining everyone around the campfire was just as cool.

An affinity for music theory and the ergonomic approach to technique inherent in classical guitar training took hold during his college years; which –I’m sure you’d agree– is a good thing for his students.

Musical retail sales and management happened during and soon after college until electronic guitar pedagogy came around.

Dace edited music transcripts while working for a company that produces guitar teaching software.

After several years as a private guitar teacher, Dace decided a group approach to teaching would be a good idea. Rock ‘n’ More was born.
