Avis Rent A Car

Showed up with a reservation confirmation, and her response was «no you don’t». I quickly stopped and made a scene that apparently awoke her from her state of stupidity, because she was quite cordial afterwards. Incompetent, but cordial. After twenty minutes of rifling through what looked to be an old decrepit cardboard box full of keys, she said, «nope, we don’t the car you reserved». She put me in a larger SUV and stated, there’s no additional charge, but lo and behold, when I received my final bill upon returning the car, they charged me an additional $ 200! I called Budget corporate and they refused to do anything about it (since they are all individually owned). These guys are crooks.

Avis does not honor the USAA discount. The guy asked for a USAA ID which does not exist, only a member number. He insisted on seeing a non existent ID card even when the reservations were made through the USAA website which requires membership. Employees are apparantly incapable of using their brains and simple logic. DON’T USE AVIS. Of course no manager present. The employee lost Avis $ 800. worth of business.

Avoid this place at all costs. It’s a pain in the ass. My boyfriend and I had a difficult renting a car. For legal reasons, my boyfriend couldn’t rent a car with my credit card, even though I was there to verify that he was the one renting it (he only had his french bank account card with him). So we used that, along with the fees of using his card internationally. I was promised, by the manager, that my card would not be charged. However, it was. I had to go through several people over the phone to get this resolved. I’m very grateful that Derek was able to return my funds to me. This was very stressful and a pain in the ass to deal with. They made such a big deal about using the right card with the correct name, and did not send a receipt to me saying the charge would not go through, nor did they cancel the charge. I will never rent from this place again.

I rented a car for specific hour. When I came to pick it up the car was not available. I had to wait 2h for it to arrive from SeaTac airport…

I experienced terrible customer service at the Redmond, WA location. They tried to overcharge me for a subcompact (tiny) compact car. I complained to corporate and did not receive a reasonable resolution. I avoid this place!

They will try to charge you as much as they can. They will try to rent to you a SUV. If you insist that you want a compact car, then you will get a subcompact car for the price of a compact car. If you arrive 5 minutes before your reservation, they will charge you half hour extra (that’s like 35 dollars extra). Avis Redmond and Avis Bellevue employees know enough tricks to get your money.

We rented a car through Avis in Los Cabos. When I checked my credit card I saw I had an overcharge of $ 160 and the Avis customer service has no explanation for it.
The car we got was a disaster also. I cant wait to see how will they help out in solving the dispute.

This place is hit or miss with rentals. I go here because I am living in Factoria over the summer, and it is the only location nearby (other than the SeaTac airport) that my employer will rent cars from. The selection is non-​existant — it seems you get what is returned here from others. This usually means a poor choice of Camry, Yaris, or Gran Marquis. Not only is the selection bad, the cars are always dirty inside, the Yaris I had was missing buttons and half the electronics didn’t work, and my current rental only came with half a tank of gas and smells strongly of fish.
All in all, this place is significantly worse than when I picked up my rental from the airport, which had a great selection and clean/​working cars. Of the 5 cars I’ve rented in Seattle, two came from the airport which were great (even upgraded to luxury models for free) while three came from this dump of an Avis which were dirty, low on gas, or broken. If you need a car in Seattle, pay the extra to avoid this dump of an Avis.

If I could give negative stars I would. This place is a JOKE and a total scam. They are currently trying to charge me for a supposed scratch on the front bumper that is sooo minor it would take 3 seconds and a squirt of wax to rub out. The problem is I am all the way in Michigan now so there is little or nothing I can do about the scratch. They keep telling me I need to come in and inspect the scratch and fill out an accident report… Let me repeat I AM IN MICHIGAN!!! This smells of scam big time! They will not close out the contract until the matter is resolved only thing is I cannot spend another $ 500.00 to fly to WA for a bumper scratch! What does it mean when the contract is not closed? It means they still have $ 400.00 on my debit card tied up that’s what it means! I am getting raked over the coals by this place DO NOT RENT HERE!
