History

Established in 1950.

H & K was established in 1950 by James E. Parks and Robert Hall; both veterans of war. It was a supplemental income to their full time careers in the auto industry and working for the United States Postal Service. They were both entrepreneurial at heart; dedicated to the dream of owning their own business. They achieved their success and have survived the many twists and turns of owning a business. They have also achieved a reputation for being dependable, committed, loyal and efficient while providing the quality that their clients seek.

Today, as James and Robert have retired, the company is owned and operated by James’ daughter, Patricia Takeda. She brings with her over 35 years of experience in the family business and the same entrepreneurial heart as her father; committed to her clients and maintaining the same level of dependability, loyalty, efficiency and quality.

Meet the Business Owner

Patricia T.

Business Owner

Patricia started working for the family business when she was 15 (1978) along with two other jobs in retail. Her father taught her early on how to save for the things that she wanted. She continued working part time for H & K over the next 35 years; cleaning at night and/or doing administrative duties. Her focus in school was business management and the path that she chose outside of the family business was in office administration. In 2002, she began working closely with her father only this time in the field doing sales as the administrative positions were filled. Patricia soon learned that she truly enjoyed sales. She learned that there was much more to it than just considering square footage; every building is unique, every need is unique and every client is unique. Today, she is continuing to learn through the day to day business and the myriad of opportunities offered to small businesses along with the many business mentors that she is so blessed to have in her life.
