Since starting at PhD Martial Arts, I have seen a lot of growth in my son. I am truly grateful that Master Jim talks to his students about bullying/​self defense and how to handle themselves. He teaches them how to be confident when facing a variety of situations. The students and parents know he genuinely cares and makes himself available to them.

PHD Martial Arts has changed my families life forever! When we started at PHD my daughter had social problems and severe ADHD. Today she thrives at school, gets good grades, can focus, has good character and values health and fitness. AND she can protect herself! I personally, have grown as a person, have changed my personal goals AND my career to revolve around martial arts, and helping teens avoid abuse. Master James Matthews sometimes has overflowing classes, but he will always find room to get you or your student in, and he has excellent upper belt adults as assistant instructors. If it was possible to give no stars, I would. They gave my son two free classes, awsome, right? NO! First off, they told me that my son had to learn a salute to earn his belt. We worked for three hours straight so he knew it, when he arrived to class, Master Jim never asked him to do his salute and just gave him a belt. Then, they scheduled me a meeting to sign him up. I got a babysitter,(I am a single mother trying to provide for my kids, getting time away is hard.) I waited for Master Jim for half an hour in my Honda (in 90degree wether) and he NEVER SHOWED, How does a master in Kung Foo give such little respect??? I truely had high hopes for them, as did my son. I’ll get over it, but you allowed my son to lose respect, which is inexcusable.
