We rented the Cascade houseboat the weekend prior to July 4^th. Our entire experience was fantastic. The staff was fabulous, making themselves avail at any time, for anything we might need. Crew member Taz was especially kind, polite & helpful. Our stovetop worked but oven did not. Def a inconvienience on our boat for baking but were able to use the grill. We let Taz know, he was incredibly apologetic & we recd $ 100 off our rental. The boat itself was a bit on the older side, but clean. Their rental prices were the most reasonable. We got a deal in May thru Travelzoo for $ 950 – 3 nights 4 days.
It would be nice if they could get some newer updated boats but other than that the mariana was terrific in every way. The lake was clean, fantastic & beautiful as well. The staff helped us find some terrific waterfalls & hidden coves too :)

My family has been using this marina for years. The customer service this year has been absolutely horrendous. Very unprofessional for a resort. Looking to relocate after that experience.

This place is the best place to stay super affordable room rates and so close to water. This business is run the way a successful business should be run. I have never felt so pleased with a experience from the employees to the accommodation I will keep coming back year after year. Great job to the owners you have a customer for life!

Had 8:000 reservations for New Years Eve dinner. Finally got seated at 9:15. At 10 pm we had not ordered and they had already run out of prime rib! So we had to leave HUNGRY! They usually have good food but the service sucks! Never enough servers and apparently not good planning by the chef either! Very dissatisfied, disappointed!

This review is for the restaurant/​bar, had a horrible experience with customer service from server Andrenia on 12−4−15 at noon, her social skills were so bad and unprofessional we walked out without ordering. Being local residents we have been coming here for years, need to hire a mature customer service orientated servers, not just young girls that do not realize we pay their salaries. if we could have given a lower score we would !
To be fair Larry and Dan are the best !

Exceeded my expectations
Supermoon, rain induced nap, fantastic weather, great friends and a houseboat! This was an unforgettable weekend. The staff at Bridge Bay Resort is very helpful. Rescuing not once, but at least three times. Always patient with us, giving us tips to maneuver our temporary home. The Grand Sierra was comfortable for 10 people. It didn’t feel like a frat house. Definitely glad we had 2 bathrooms. The upstairs deck was a big plus for sun bathing. The kitchen was well equipped for gourmet adventures. Bring a lot of ice with you to keep the large cooler (provided) cold for your drinks. Hopefully we’ll be back on the boat next year, and the next.

I just checked in and what a disappointment! The view room is mostly blocked by trees. They do not currently have WIFI which I was not told at check in. The phone in the room does not work. The TV works sporadically. There are giant spider webs in the corner of the room.
I will say that the view from the campus itself is lovely and it is easily accessible from I 5. Dinner in the restaurant was OK.
I left a message for the General Manager 3 days ago and have yet to hear from him.

Just returned home from our trip on a Grand Sierra houseboat on Lake Shasta. This really was 4.8 in stars. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because we had a couple issues. That being said, each issue was taken care of as soon as they knew about it. The staff were incredible running this way and that helping out all the renters making sure that everyone was taken care of. We rented a ski boat also, and they delivered that out to us on the lake where we had the houseboat parked. Three staff workers who stood out in the customer service area are Bryer and Nicholas on the docks and Regina in the office. Great trip where lifetime memories were made!

BB… the one marina we had not ever rented a houseboat from on the lake. Picked up the travelzoo discount for one of the small houseboats. I’ve seen these small boats on the lake for years so our expectations were aligned with a small /​older houseboat. We were very pleasantly surprised. Keep in mind that if you are expecting a «Titan-​like luxury houseboat experience» you will be disappointed. But that not what these older smaller boats are trying to be. Although on the older side, everything was clean and functional… a great economical way to get out on that fabulous lake. Even though it seemed to be a busy time at the marina, everybody from the front desk folks, to the dock crew, and the gas guy were very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Chris, the guy that runs the dock area, did us a solid that helped make our weekend enjoyable. All in all a very good experience, would definitely recommend to a friend.

This place was nice. I have to admit when we pulled up it was late and I was thinking it was a run down old lake motel, so not the case. It’s older but well kept, very comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly. The best of all was getting to wake up to a beautiful Lake Shasta view. I highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Bridge Bay Resort/​Marina offers everything you need: houseboats, small boats, sea doos, and a hotel with pool & restaurant. I recommend going there or planning your next vacation with Bridge Bay! Being on Lake Shasta is extremely fun for you & the entire family. All staff were nice & I can’t wait to return in August!

Had a reservation for a boat on 4^th oh July weekend. When I came to the office the attendant told me my reservation was for the Marina in Stockton — almost 5 hours away!!! They said the own other marinas and when you call and lines are busy, call gets transferred to other offices. We showed them the number we called to which they confirmed it was the Shasta Lake marina… How do you transferred a customer 300+ miles away without telling them??? Well, they didn’t have others boats available and attendant was completely useless and blamed us for not knowing the call was transferred to the other side of the country! NEVER COMING BACK!!!

Came up to Shasta for the 4^th of July weekend. Had a reservation for a boat. We showed up and our reservation was not honored. We were one of 3 family’s that had this problem. So much for a fun 4^th of July weekend.

This was the worst experience of my life. They left me on an island without food or water for a day and told my party we should go the 20+ miles back to the dock on foot. Which didn’t make sense but the water level was probably low enough to do so. Never ever ever again. I think we will be using Jones Valley next time. Their boats are much nicer and have water slides.

I will attempt to put this as gently as possible. Inept managers, shoddy boats and tweeker employees. That about sums up the little gem that could be Bridge Bay Resort. If you are the owner and you are reading this. Please… take it all to heart. If you do decide to vacation here try not to use any words containing more than one or two syllables. A manager by the name of Karen (I believe) has the intellectual capacity of a paint brush.

Nothing makes me you feel fancier than saying «I’m spending a weekend on a houseboat!» We found a Travelzoo deal for $ 810 for two nights on the Summit, and called early enough to take advantage of this deal during Labor Day weekend. While the houseboats here are a bit older, they serve their purpose well. They had beds, a full kitchen, and a decent sized bathroom. Keep in mind that the price you pay does not include gas, so after you return your boat you’ll have to fill it up again and pay for the gas usage.
Being that we were all newbies, there were a few key things we learned from this trip that I think everyone must know when they are going to try houseboating:
1. Beware of going into shallow water, especially with the drought California is going through right now. The map may show that there is a ton of water, but it’s deceiving since the water has receded greatly. At one point we got our houseboat stuck, and it took a group effort to slowly push the boat back and forth to wiggle it free.
2. You will have to dock and tie off your boat every night. The water levels may rise or fall during the night, so there is a chance that the water will be lower in the morning and your houseboat will be a bit beached. There can be a bit of pushing involved.
3. THE MUD WILL EAT YOUR SHOES! No joke, the mud is pretty bad in some areas that you dock, so your legs will instantly sink just below your knees, and when you try to pull your leg out, your flip flop will not come with you. Once the mud has taken your flip flop, there is no finding it again. I have never found Crocs or Tevas too attractive, but this would have been a great time to have been wearing them.
4. The mud may eat your shoes and it may sound better to go barefoot, but the rocks will also cut your foot. This goes back to the wonderful world of Crocs and Tevas — ugly, but they will protect your foot AND stay on.
5. The water used to shower and wash dishes is actually filtered lake water. They have a storage of fresh water as well for cooking and drinking purposes, but you should still bring some of your own water.
6. The refrigerator is weak. It takes a long time for it to get cool, and for every 30 seconds you keep the door open, it takes an hour for it to regain it’s coolness. Be strategic with where you place things, and know exactly what you want before opening the fridge.
Once you have all of those in the back of your mind, you can rest easy and enjoy your trip. This was one of the most fun outdoor trips we’ve had, but we also never felt so dirty or dry (the lake water really dries out your skin). Floating and swimming in the water is an amazing feeling since it’s so warm up there, and the night sky is absolutely amazing since there is very little light pollution in the area. Happy boating!

My husband and I tried to stay there the Sunday after Labor Day. We arrived to find the place deserted, run down, and in total disrepair. We approached the woman who was running the front desk and asked if we could have an upgrade room for one night at the same price of the regular room rate and she replied, «No, it is a 2 night minimum» after Labor Day??? in a dump??? a 2 night minimum??? she would not budge. If you want to stay in a rundown marginal motel experience with NO WIFI, I recommend you stay there.

They have changed owners and it is going so down hill. They use to be one of the best resorts on the lake. From having great boats to a great gift shop to a great restaurant.
BUT NOT SINCE THEY CHANGED OWNERS. The gift shop is worse that the chevron gas station a few miles up. I use to spend 50+ dollars on gifts/​food and drinks. But last time I was there I did not spend a penny. YOU CAN TELL THERE NEW OWNERS. the store is awful.
I have been coming to this lake for 20+ years. My family use to love the wale restaurant. But now the new owners changed it to COOK HOUSE. Way to be creative. It use to have this amazing ascetic of a boat. But they took everything down and now it has no ascetic. But that is just the appearance. The Wale restaurant had amazing food and drinks. That’s is why I always came back
BUT NOW THEIR FOOD IS WORSE THAN APPLEBEES. The food was so disgusting.
THE NEW OWNERSHIP REALLY NEEDS TO STOP DISAPPOINTING THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS.
They stopped taking such good care of their boats. They are dirty and not taken care of.
MY HOUSEBOAT HAD MICE IN IT!!!
This was never a problem with the new owners.
I really hope this review can help change some things because what they are doing is not working.

We go to Bridge Bay every Father’s Day weekend and we have never had a bad stay yet. The scenery is amazing. The restaurant staff – top notch! If you get a chance– the salmon is amazing. The rooms are quaint, and functional. Even at it’s horrifyingly low level, the lake is just perfect for the boat, and launching is a breeze. (If you don’t mind getting dirty) :). Great place. Wonderful people.

My boyfriend and I decided to stop in for dinner after a drive around the lake. Glad we did if you haven’t been here or if its been awhile you should check it out. The view is amazing and David our waiter was great. We will be back to try the bar had a cool vibe and again there is no better view in Redding. Thanks again for a great time David.

We returned to Bridge Bay Marina for our second house boating trip Sept 2013. We will be loyal customers to Bridge Bay always. They treated us SO good. Mandy the gal who did our reservation was able to upgrade us to their largest houseboat for a little more $$. Everyone was so nice. Rene who checked us in, the guys on the docks – everyone! We had a blast – and you can take your dogs. Perfect vacation!
Oh and we came home to a handwritten thank you note from the general manager. Now that’s customer service!

We had a FABULOUS time houseboating on a boat from Seven Crowns. As houseboating newbies, they took good care of us, especially when we had a problem with a loose wire on our generator. They could have treated us like the clueless people that we were, but were extremely helpful.
The boat had so many great amenities, and plenty of space for us and our stuff, it was so easy and fun to just cruise around and play in the water. I can’t wait to go back!
