As far as fast food goes Pollo regio is definitely my number one pick in the South Dallas area. Not many fast food places offer such a variety of food that is consistently great to eat. Their specialty is definitely the chicken(pollo duh?). On my last visit I ordered the lunch special for $ 8 which included 4 pieces of chicken(breast, thigh, wing, and drumstick) a bowl of rice, tortillas, and a bowl of beans that were fantastic. The beans were lightly spiced so I found them to be way better than your standard fair of retried beans. The chicken appears to be smoked or baked(baked I believe) in a multitude of spices that makes it crispy on the edges and flavorful throughout. The offer a salsa bar for you to choose your pain level and also include small chips for you to eat with your meal. Some meals include fries so it’s up to you if you want it. The location is clean and here is plenty of parking even at lunch and the staff is polite and prompt with their service. Will return for sure.

I love El Pollo Regio. Their chicken is so good! Fast food, but authentic Mexican flavor! Sauces are great as well!

This is a toughie to review… I want to like this place really bad, but there are too many«issues» to give it more stars. First off: the chicken does not taste as good as the smoke smell outside would indicate. From the smell that emanates from the place and wafts over Ovilla road and I-35, you’re expecting really, really flavorful, wood fire charbroiled chicken. What you usually get is somewhat dry(sometimes very dry) chicken that has a hint of «outdoor cooking» flavor to it. It’s ok… but far from great. I think they have some special«smell formula» that they pump into the air to generate business… sort of like deer hunting with a feeder. The sides are ok, but nothing to have a fiesta about. I do like that green sauce they have; it’s kind of a green chili concoction. They call it guacamole, but it damned sure ain’t «guacamole» as I think of it. They make an interesting hamburger… it’s huge and has a thin slice of ham on it. It is actually quite good. When I say it’s huge, believe it… it’s about the size of a small hubcap, so it’s plenty to split with somebody. The burger comes with a large side of pretty tasty fries. That’s the only reason I ever go there; well that, and for the chicken quesadillas my daughter likes(but she likes pink Pop Tarts washed down with Mountain Dew, so…). The other thing to remember… they run out of stuff pretty early. Do not go there 15 minutes prior to closing(sometimes even 30 minutes) expecting to have the full menu available… if you do, you’re gonna be shit outta luck. The«atmosphere» is ok, but often, it’s not very enjoyable. The place just seems to attract a lot of unsophisticated people with really unpleasant kids(don’t get me wrong… I know we’re not talking about Le Bernardin here, so I don’t expect to run into George Will). These inattentive, sometimes dull-normal people with their atrocious, ill-mannered spawn running amok can make you want to order«to go,» to wit: I recently watched these two fat guys who were slow pitch softball teammates with their equally fat wives as they sat and casually observed their fire team of brats destroy the gumball machines that sit along the back wall. Nary a damn was given. Since it’s a Mexican food establishment, the televisions are tuned to either soccer or to those ridiculous soap operas that you always see on Univision(this makes me happy about 50% of the time, because while I hate soccer, like most guys, I am rather fond of boobs).

If you love spicy you will love this place! The habanero creamy sauce is amazing and hot!!! The green jalapeño sauce is good too, tastes like the Dona sauce in Austin’s taco deli. Tasty sides! Soooo good!

I love pollo regio but this one needs to take care of being CLEAN and learn how to properly handle and cook food. My whole family got SALMONELLA from this place, we are currently in the process of filing a lawsuit against this place. Go somewhere else. PLEASE! You DONOT want food poisoning, much less salmonella. Worst experience ever.

We love the chicken, and generous portions of it, at Pollo Regio. This location has a small salsa bar and chips available. My favorite here is the half chicken with rice and beans. The chicken is fire grilled and juicy. The tortillas are nice and soft to.

First time trying this, it actually is decent. The chicken is moist and tender, actually very flavorful. With the salsa and some rice, this makes a very nice meal — not too heavy, not too salty… and not fried! Would certainly come back again, I haven’t tried the other menu items yet so will update once I gt a chance…

This chain of restaurant’s is one of my faves! The chicken is fantastic and I love, love, love their salsa verde. You must try it, they have several locations in Austin, San Antonio & quickly spreading throughout the Dallas area. I highly recommend everyone get a little Pollo Regio in their lives at least once…

Worst food ever the chicken taste gimme the hamburgers you ask for well done and it’s raw. The employees are very stupid they don’t understand English you have to repeat your self at least 10 times.

This place is sooooooo yummy. The green salsa is spicy but oh so good! The red salsa is really tasty too. The only downside is that you have to pay extra for more than 1 cup of salsa if you’re getting it to go(the only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars.) The chicken is delicious. But be sure to also try their beef fajita tacos(and ask for extra cilantro.) These are delicious. The rice is good too. If you order the right thing, you can even leave knowing that you ate healthy despite having Mexican food!

I really don’t know where to start with this review. Never tried or even heard of the restaurant until about 3 wks ago & have had it almost a dozen times since. The beans are to die for. It’s like fast food that’s not fast. The staff was very nice & the establishment clean. I must admit that I was skeptical at first. The managers greet you& introduce themselves. I pray they keep this level of service & quality of food. If so I will be a customer for life.

WORST Experience EVER!!! Food was cold and my order was wrong and my torta had chicken bones all in it, complained and never got an «I’m Sorry». The workers sat around at a bench by the register with the«Manager» and laughed and talking about there personal lives very loudly! Go there if you want a shitty experience and shitty food! I wish i could give them –stars
