Can’t give a good review for this place. The food was decent however, my gripe is that my son ordered(off menu) 2 crabstick rolls. These rolls consisted of imitation crab, nori and rice. Because this was an unofficial menu item, they charged $ 26. The waitress consulted with manager to see if they could adjust the price and he evidently told her no. He did not come speak with us or attempt to soften the blow. He allowed us to leave feeling like we were taken advantage of. Any other place we have ever gone has charged no more than $ 6 for this roll. It’s imitation crab and rice! I realize we run a risk ordering off menu but $ 26 for imitation crab is outright obnoxious! Can not return here. In addition to this unpleasantry, one of the bartenders was heard in the main dining room yelling and cursing, in front of small children. Decent food, unprofessional staff.

What a nice experience from the excellent meal to the friendly staff. I just went to here with my family for a weeknight dinner. We had cocktails and appetizers at the bar(hello blood orange margarita, rock shrimp and the weird sounding edamame dumplings — they are so good you have to try!!!) We shared rolls including the Forbidden, Sunshine, and a variety of standard rolls and my Grandma had the red snapper. We were all trying to steal the risotto off her plate — I’d like to order that as an entrée…yum yums!

I’ve been here several times and have never been disappointed. I even here for a late night dinner with cocktails, and also for lunch. Night time is definitely more fun, when we came, there was a live dj mixing calm cool house music. It went very well with the ambience– it was quiet enough to hear your dinning partner in conversation. The drinks were to die for– well crafted… The sushi was equally as wonderful. I love that they feature black rice in their sushi creations. Delicious! During the lunch hours, it is less crowded. Usually several tables of local lawyers and business men and women. It is quiet and bright, with natural lighting. One of my favorite lunching spots when I drive to red bank to visit friends that work down town.

Another RB place going downhill. Good bar but after ordering my sushi I couldn’t help but notice the hair in my soy sauce bowl. Plus, we sat with dirty dishes on our table for a really really long time and empty drinks. I have patience if the place is busy by not when there are 3 busboys standing around checking their phones and a waitress with 3 tables. Plus, the bench in the back room has a ripped cover which is sort of trashy for an upscale place.

Decent food, good ambiance, good service. No complaints. I do like the fusion concept but I think the preparation quality of the sushi could be improved. The pieces were oversized(for some could be a good thing) but harder to eat and had couple dismantle… No big deal, still fun to hang.

I Have only had lunch here on many occasions for business, and its always a consistent, staple turnout every-time. atmosphere really is perfect for the area, rolls and sushi fresher than fresh. Every client says the same and wants to return when in redbank. So I will return and keep smiling when we do.

Had sushi. Two types of rice, both Forbidden black and regular. The sushi rice was hard and poorly done. Would not recommend this place. The ambiance was nice though. … Now I am home and got food poisoning. Not sure if it’s the rice or the fish but I am not surprised. Ugh.

The staff is super accommodating. When I came here, one of the people I was with had just had surgery so they needed so much extra space and an extra chair but the staff didn’t even blink. They were quick to give us a few seating options, and very attentive through out the dinner. Get the rock shrimp!

Always fabulous. Sat in the bar area this time. Server was absolutely wonderful. I’m sorry I forget her name now. She was on top of us, recommended a great drink(it goes down like water! !). Our sushi was spot on. My date was perfect, the drink, perfect, sushi, perfect. I just love it here. The pricing? A tad pricey, but.. sometimes you have to give a teeny but more in life for awesomeness.

Now who doesn’t love half price sushi! Sushi was really good. Mixed drinks were spot on. Service was good. Place is very trendy and vibrant. It had a good vibe to it and I was totally happy with this spot. I would recommend this to anyone.

Teak has such great food from appetizers to shush I rolls it is all great. Half price Monday’s is the best part about teak. I’m pretty sure it is everything on the menu but booze and desserts are half off in Monday’s which is great considering how high class and expensive teak is. The staff is always welcoming and it is very upscale. Great Asian American fusion food

More like a solid 3.5 Went in for the ½ priced Monday special after years of skipping Teak and were pleasantly surprised. Their house wines by the glass are $ 5 and it was a super weak pour. The lows: We started with the«crazy monkey» sushi role which was described as a sweet potato tempura role topped with banana and crème fraîche. It was pretty good, but a horrible mushy texture. The sweet potato tempura was just mashed sweet potato. We also had the calamari which was not good. Kind of soggy and had a weird intense spice. The highs: I had the edamame dumplings which were in a rum cream sauce. They were divine. I could have eaten like 6 of them. My husband had the salmon entrée that was very well cooked, a nice portion, and DELICIOUS. We would return and pay full price for that salmon!

Decent food and service. Difficult to get good fresh seafood anywhere this far from the ocean. Service good and quick.

Really disappointed… Food. Poor. was looking forward to trying the red bank location. There was so much rice on all the rolls it was more like a burrito than a sushi roll. When you walk past the sushi line you will realize as there were absolutely no Japanese or Asian cooks for that matter. Maybe they are cutting costs by hiring Chipotle workers coming off shift? The freshness of the catch was average and far from the freshness the pricing deserves. Service. Decent.the hostess and bartenders were good but the servers were not attentive or give us any suggestions. Didn’t give us water. Had to ask for ice. The service was robotic in nature as passing through a drive thru instead of a fine dining experience. Overall Wasn’t worth the trip or the bill, I was really confused as they have all the right plates… but missing key ingredients. Alternatives I recommend: U yee in woodbridge(excellent price and freshest catch), fushimi in Staten Island(good vibe„ bay ridge sushi in bay ridge brooklyn(always fresh and delish), umi in Midtown east(great lunch spot for under 10 bucka), koi in trump soho(probably my favorite next to Nobo)

If you’re looking for a lively atmosphere this is a great place. There is a large bar in front and it always seems to be busy… not my scene though! The restaurant is very beautiful but other than that food is ok and service isn’t the best. If you are really into sushi this is absolutely NOT the place for you. Personally this is an ok option if other nearby places are busy. Otherwise I would go elsewhere. If I do go I stick to the Asian fusion menu… not the sushi.

Red bank is a nice affluent area with downtown shopping and restaurants. Like many other restaurants in the area, Teak fails to impress. I’ve eaten here many times before and left uninspired. I haven’t been here in a while so I gave it another shot but with take out though. Teak is an Asian fusion restaurant with dishes and entrees inspired by many pan asian influences. It’s trendy and modernly decorated. There’s also sushi, rolls, and sashimi. There’s wine and liquor bar there. I haven’t been to Teak about 5 years and ordered the Korean beef tacos, short rib beef wrap, pork belly lotus bun, and pineapple fried rice. The beef taco shell was corn soft taco shell. The beef were tiny bits of hard chewiness. It also had napa slaw kimchi and Korean bbq sauce. I don’t usually care for corn taco shells, but the slaw and kimchi was decent. I couldn’t taste the bbq sauce much. I probably wouldn’t order this again because of the hard flavorless beef bits(overcooked). Would been better if they were larger cubes. The beef wrap was ok but in the sweet side with rice, lettuce, cucumbers and bbq hot sauce. The shell is flour. The flavors could have been better. Definitely was not spicy. Was better after Sriracha. The Lotus buns i actually thought was good, the flavors weren’t overwhelming but with pork belly fattyness along with the good bun, it’s a nice app. Pineapple fried rice is to be avoided. It’s a soggy gingery flavored mess. Any more liquid and it would be a thick congee. As far as i know there isn’t any other fusion restaurant in the area so if your craving that, there’s Teak.

I have always heard really rave reviews about Teak from friends in the area. I had been here twice before: 1) Happy Hour 2) Take-out. This time I came in with a friend for a cocktail and to share small plates. We arrived around 7:00 on a Saturday night. We were going to just sit at the bar, but there were no seats available. We ended up at a bar stool table by the window. The waitress came over to greet us and we told her we were just getting some drinks and probably going to share some appetizers. After she returned with our drinks, it took some time for her to actually come back for our food order. And when our food did arrive, she never came back to check on us. We shared the Edamame and the Thai Chicken Lettuce Cups. I was not a fan of the lime on the Edamame and it felt like they just dumped the salt on a few spots, not sprinkled across. The Thai Chicken Lettuce Cups were disappointing. I did not realize they were cold, not hot, which was a disappointment from the start. The flavor was bland and there wasn’t much sauce mixed in. I would not get either of those dishes again. We were still picking at our plates when a busboy came over and tried to clear our table. We explained we weren’t done yet, but feeling rushed, we asked for them wrapped to-go. The restaurant does have a nice atmosphere with a front room, bar room, back room and outdoor seating. Especially on a night summer night, I can see the appeal of dining outside. The front room does get very loud. Based on the disappointing service we received, less than stellar food and overall experience, I will most likely not return.

I always have a good experience here. The quality of the food, service, and atmostphere is awesome. It’s a great place for lunch or dinner whenever especially mondays and wednesdays during happy hour! My favorite food items on the menu were the edamame dumplings drizzled in this creamy coconut sauce. I don’t know what that sauce is made of, but I was literally dipping all my sushi in there as well. Also, if you love raw sushi, you should definitely try the Jersey girl roll which was my favorite. It has a strong smoked salmon taste which I love.
