the worse Chinese food I’ve ever had !!! The miso soup was so disgusting that I almost vomited !!! I ordered shrimp and broccoli and it was the saltiest thing EVER that I couldn’t eat it. We also ordered the orange chicken and there was a little baby piece of chicken in it, it was nothing but breading and threw that out too. Complete waste of money. NEVER WILL GO THERE AGAIN.

This is the most reasonably priced, fresh, not over «gooey» Chinese food. The base ingredients are so much better and lighter than ANY other Asian restaurant around.
I really like it – light, Chinese food. I haven’t found decent Chinese Food since Empire Sichuan closed (the one near the KMart that closed) in Hazlet.

Heathy general Tso chicken I have waited a lifetime to eat this. Great service and did I say not deep fried. I happened on this little treasure in Read Bank this is a place to come for dinner or lunch.

In a saturated food city such as Red Bank, take out options are a dime a dozen. Oriental Empire has managed to carve out a niche for themselves in just over a year that has made even the finest dining establishments in the local area jealous. With an extensive offering of Asian cuisine ranging from Hibachi to traditional Chinese offerings, O.E. not only fills out their menu with quantity, but the quality of their food is second to none.
The small, spotless restaurant isn’t the most exciting on the inside but it does the trick if your dining in. As a BYOB, you can manage to get in and out in under an hour for just under $ 40 with appetizers and entrè’s for two. I typically customize my Pad See Ew order to be extra spicy with some extra Chinese broccoli to make me feel as if it’s a healthier option,… when in reality it still probably has a bit more sodium than I’d care to know about.
Although the In Between Café next door has been a breakfast standout since I can remember, the English Plaza has never tasted this good. Check-​In at Oriental Empire on your next casual Thursday night out, it’s a new staple not to be missed.

Delivery was on the money. Fresh vegetables. Not greasy at all. Very good. Vegetable fried rice, sesame chicken. Louis mein.

Everything I’ve ordered from here tastes so delicious and not super greasy (like most american-​chinese food). I love that they make their food so fresh and fast. A little input on my favorite food on the menu:
shrimp/​scallop hibachi: this was good for hibachi! It wasn’t too oily like I was expecting it to be. It’s not the best quality shrimp or scallop, but it’s still pretty flavorful. The rice isn’t too buttery or oily, which I like (but I do ask them to go light on the butter). If you don’t like fried rice or noodles, you can ask them to substitude your meal with brown or white rice.
penang/​red/​green curry: they definitely use a lot of coconut milk! It’s savory yet pretty sweet… it almost seems like it’s half a meal/​half dessert. Theres tons of vegetables in this so I’m a huge fan (it doesn’t taste like spicy curry which I prefer).
Steamed vegetarian dumplings: my favorite! I always order this with my lunch because it’s THAT good. it does seem to fall apart easily though (maybe they steam it a little too long) but it tastes great with the light salad that they give you.
Spicy thai basil style: another favorite entrée of mine. It’s pretty similar to the thai basil-​stir fry entrée that I order from penang. It’s not too spicy but has a kick to it.
I also love their exceptional service. The entire staff is so friendly and so accomodating.

Their wonton soup is my all time favorite. Egg roll was great, enjoyed the chicken lo mein. Definitely plan on coming back.

I went there tonight for dinner with a large group of 15. The food was delicious and we all agreed we would return. The staff were extremely attentive and pleasant and we could not be happier with our dinner! Affordable also!

Food was bland had very little taste. Says free delivery but charges $ 2.00 gas charge really.

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS RESTAURANT… BEWARE!
I purchased two
deals for this restaurant. They were $ 15 for $ 30 worth of food. The owner will not honor them… and only said something after the check was brought to the table. They are still being sold on the
site and this is something the owner needs to work out with them. I’m out the $ because he won’t honor a deal that he’s committed to. Such a shame. I refuse to patronize a business that lures people in with an offer and won’t honor it. With business practices like that, their doors are sure to close for good.

When this place opened up, I was really looking forward to another great restaurant. Sadly it wasn’t very impressive when it came to the food.
The good: We came on a slow evening so I noticed the waitress wiping down the menus, which is awesome because you don’t see that very often. Customer service was good and the restaurant was very clean. I also really liked the décor, modern with a bit of traditional.
The not so good: I really wanted to try the Tom Yum Kung soup. I know this soup is usually spicy, but its normally tolerable. I asked the waitress if it was really spicy and she said it was reeaaallly spicy, in other words don’t even try it if you cant handle spicy. Fine, I appreciated her honesty but was disappointed at the fact that they made it so spicy that the average spicy eater wont be able to handle it. Other places put mild spices in it and you can just add more spice if desired. Moving forward, I opted for the hot and sour soup instead. It was ok. A bit watered down and lacking some flavor. It was a cold day so we let that slide since we wanted to warm up.
My husband had the General Tso’s chicken which was pretty good and was an ok portion (note: if youre a guy, order an appetizer alongside since he was a bit hungry still).
I had the shrimp lo-​mein, right away I noticed that they had a good amount of shrimp which was a plus, however they left the tails on, which is something you normally only see in Italian food, not lo-​mein. Okay not a problem, cut the tails off and started eating. I really did not enjoy it. The lo-​mein was soo greasy that I had to wipe the grease off my mouth after every single bite! I was seriously expecting a really tasty, perfectly cooked dish and all it felt like was greasy Chinese food from your local takeout place. The sad thing is that I recently ordered lo-​mein from my local takeout place and it was not so greasy and overcooked as this dish. After we got home, I wasn’t feeling too well and kept waking up to drink water (MSG perhaps?).
I do tend to give places a second chance in case they were having an off night but right now I’m not so sure if I want to be back. I may just stick to my local takeout place and nearby sit down Chinese restaurant that I frequent.

Doing a review after three visits. Including a a family dine in. Really like the place. Food is very fresh and made to order. Standouts for me are fresh eggplant, chicken, and hot and sour soup. My teens like their pork dumplings. Will be back and update with more menu items.
Décor is surprisingly tasteful. As a sitdown restaurant accommodations are basic. They do big pickup business.
Pricing is very good by Red Bank standards. Lunch special $ 8 to $ 10. They charge for their Japanese tea which is excellent.
Biggest problem is dining room is loud. The pop music doesn’t really fit very well and adds to the overall volume level. Owner should add some sound suppression materials to the ceiling. Even with just a few people it loud and one hears way to many details of others conversations. The beautiful tile work and hard shiny surfaces come at a price acoustically.
Service is excellent. Unisex bathroom is spotless.

She asked if I would go with her because she received a flyer with 20% off the check coupon. Sure, why not. Although I must confess, being Asian, I am weary of restaurants that have the following key word (s): Oriental, Pandas, Good, Express, … You get the idea. I find it’s usually not authentic places. However, I haven’t been to every single place that bear those key words so for the public reviews, I must go.
I ordered for appetizer, sticky rice in red leaf. Firstly, when I spoke to the waitress, I asked her about that. I personally never heard of this. As she was trying to say what it was, I just asked her if it was Jung-​zee? She said «yes». I to, d her, that’s not wrapped in red leaf. That’s wrapped in bamboo leaf. She had a nervous look and said, «that’s what it is.» I ordered it to see how authentic it could be. For an entrée, I ordered traditional ma po tofu while my friend ordered sesame chicken. We both opted for a salad and the entrees were served with roast pork fried rice. $ 2 if I switched it over to white rice. You’re kidding, right? Our appetizer came and it was small. I split it with my friend because she never had it. The sticky rice was a tad dry. Very little Chinese sausage and the finest slivers of shiitake mushrooms. They truly were minced. Then our lunch dishes came. My friend really loved her chicken. I love her but to be truthful, she loves anything fried. I tried a piece. Meh. It could have been crispier. I had my dish which was suppose to be on the spicy side. I saw the red peppers but no heat. It was like a tease. While my fried rice was nice and hot (temperature wise), my tofu was not hot at all. It was warm at best. I’ve got an hour to my name and 20 minutes left to eat. I could afford to lose more time by asking them to reheat my dish. I did note other people who came after us were receiving their dishes sooner than ours.
All in all, they’re new and I’m willing to give them a chance to work out the kinks. As for the lunch, mine was a disappointment. Will I come back? Only if my friend really really wants to go there. If I have a say, I’d ask her to chose another … Oh heck, I’ll chose… And it won’t be this one. It was ok at best.

What a pleasant surprise. We received their menu in the mail & figured we would try it. We went two nights in a row this week and am looking forward to go back soon and try something different. There are plenty of choices to pick from. We found the food very fresh and very favorable. Especially tasty are the chef special soups. The Thai seafood soup is amazing, but be aware it is hot.
The only problem I can see is the parking. Especially if you are just getting takeout.

Myself, my sister and my mom order delivery online from Oriental Emipre tonight after a large snowstorm. The delivery took about 20 minutes (i live about 3 miles away) and the food was warm.
We love asian food and let me tell you this food was AMAZING! my mom couldnt stop commenting on how fresh all the vegetables tasted. I got the chicken and shrimp meal from the Diet menu. It comes with so many steamed vegetables and brown rice with a side sauce. The rice was moist and the sauce was very tasty (I even saved my extra for when I make grilled chicken). My mom got the vegetable pad thai and my sister got another noodle dish (sorry can’t remember which ones!), and they both said their dishes were very good
I will 100% be ordering from and visiting Oriental Empire again very soon!

We ordered from this restaurant for the first time last week. Excellent food. Fresh ingredients, not too oily or over seasoned. First time all the Chinese food leftovers were consumed the next day. Their pork steam dumplings were delicate, and the filling did NOT resemble pork play dough, like all the others I have tried. Highly recommend.
A bit more expensive than your average Chinese food take out place, but you get what you pay for. With the exception of Temple on Broad which serves «gourmet» and unique Chinese recipes, best place in this area.

The soup was great, the food was good, but the aftermath was a nightmare. Both me and my wife, who don’t have any food allergies and eat out quite regularly, had severe, er, stomach issues immediately following our visit.
We only ate salad (at home) earlier in the day, so while I’d usually abstain from pinning something like this on a particular venue, the culprit here seems very apparent.

This place is great. At first, I was a little suspect as I had walked by it a few times and the place was empty. I went in there last night to check out the menu and decided to take a shot. It was outstanding. I had my 3– year old son with me and they were great with him. They have about 20 tables, pretty tightly packed but a pretty nice place. They have more than just chinese food. I ordered food to go and found they also deliver. There aren’t too many places to get this type of food in Red Bank unless you go to Temple, which is good but expensive. But this place blows Little Szechuan in Little Silver out of the water!!!

Best Chinese/​Asian food in red bank that delivers and is reasonable. All ingredients are fresh, dressings and sauces from scratch. Don’t get soda delivered they charge $ 3 for a 20oz bottle.
