History
Established in 1991.
«The Firehouse,» is one of the city’s most unique and interesting landmarks. –Housed within the original Rapid City firehouse, a structure built of four layer brick in 1915, the building is listed on the National Historic Register.
Sixteen years before the Firehouse Brewing Company came into existence, the building had been converted from a fire-hall to a fine dining restaurant. –Complete with chandelier-lit booths, red carpet, and valet parking, It took great vision to imagine what was to come.
The idea was to return the interior to its original fire-hall glory with the added feature of a brewery visible from behind glass enclosures. The new décor included polished brass and fire fighting equipment to adorn the walls, the bar, and even the ceiling.
Today the Firehouse features a brewery, an indoor restaurant and bar, an outdoor patio complete with band-shell for live music, The Firehouse Brewing Theatre and a Winery!
