We offer complete or partial packing and unpacking services. We can also deliver our competitively priced supplies to your home or office at no extra charge, if you choose to pack your own items.

Marathon Moving Company prides itself on being a small company that can deliver big results. In moving, what separates larger companies from small ones is often equipment and customer service.

We maintain a modern, fully containerized warehouse for any of your storage needs. We have newer trucks and specialized equipment for larger pieces such as pianos and safes.

Marathon’s move consultants provide customer service that is second to none using a moving-​dedicated software package to accurately estimate and schedule your move. Our small size allows us to truly value each and every customer, giving them the personal attention they deserve.

History

Established in 2000.

Marathon Moving Company started by Paul & Gail Nelson in their two-​car garage in the spring of 2000 to provide its customers with true value by combining service excellence with competitive pricing. Paul, a Boston moving veteran, was quickly joined by several friends to create Marathon’s core team of moving professionals. Marathon quickly became known to local realtors, move coordinators & clients eager to work with a value-​based moving company. With demand growing, the two-​car garage did not last long and was soon replaced by larger commercial facilities.

The company has grown & new team members have been carefully vetted to ensure they had the desire to be the best. Holding employees new and old to the highest standards allowed Marathon to maintain a company of moving professionals that provides outstanding service from start to finish.

In 2005, Marathon became an agent for Stevens Worldwide Van Lines enabled Marathon to meet customer’s needs for interstate & international moves.

Business Owner

I am a lifelong resident of Boston and have worked in the moving industry for the past 20 years. I got my start in moving at a well known Boston moving company as a helper during college. The work was hard but the comraderie amongst the crew was great. I spent the next several years there learning the trade. By the end of my time there, I felt there was a real need for a high quality moving company that was also competiively priced in the Boston market. I started Marathon Moving to do just that. 11 years later, the need still exists and Marathon is still here to answer the call.
