City of Rancho Cucamonga

Very Pleasant
Was at the City for a meeting with some staff. Front desk person was very pleasant, as was the book sale crew. City Management people seemed nice, as well.
The City has done an excellent job with City Hall. Open, formal, and well-​kept, it’s a great public space that shows respect for the important work done there by citizens, businesses, elected leaders, and City staff. It’s amazing how many employees fit in a relatively tight amount of space.
Was sorry to hear that they tax initiative failed. I understand they had some good plans for those funds, but the message and approach seemed not to connect with the community. Lessons for next time…

I don’t live in rancho but I travel there frequently, city official and police are great, fast, quick to respond, streets are clean and repaired. The only down side is the amount of traffic, that’s why a 4 star not 5, but it’s a nice place so maybe that explains the traffic. Maybe it’s folks like me leaving our neighboring cities to visit here

Oh rancho Cucamonga. The city that thinks that they are Beverly Hills… Except I never seen a county jail in Beverly Hills. This city has a snobbish citizenship. The people who live in the alta Loma area part of town will flat out deny that they are part of Rancho Cucamonga. If you tell them that they live in Rancho Cucamonga, they will flip out on you and say that they live in the «city of Alta Loma». South of Alta Loma, is Cucamonga (south of baseline). Rancho Cucamonga’s oldest ghetto (there is two ghettos in this town).
The Cucamonga area part of town is run down and has a couple of crackheads running around the bank of America on Archibald and the abandoned Osh building. The snobby people of Alta Loma will come down from their security guard enforced gated communities. Bolting all the way down to eat Farrell’s ice cream. Only if they knew that Farrell’s ice cream sundae is just Thrifty Ice cream that you can get at Rite-​Aid. Oh, the courthouse and city hall are located here.
Then there is the Etiwanda part of Rancho Cucamonga. This section of Rancho Cucamonga is unique. The reason it is unique is because people split this part of town into three pieces. Those pieces are, «the city of Etiwanda», Victoria Gardens and Fontana. First I am going to start with the part known as Fontana, Rancho’s second ghetto. Most people think that the part east of the 15 is Fontana; that is wrong. Rancho Cucamonga pretty much ends at east avenue (south of baseline, then moves west to Etiwanda ave past arrow), so the county jail and that Walmart is part of rancho Cucamonga as much as you want to deny it (Walmart though, is moving next to the spaghetti factory).
Then there is Victoria Gardens. This where most people think that the city Rancho Cucamonga is. Essentially the mall and surrounding shopping centers is the whole city to many. The last part is «the city Etiwanda.» This is where the another group of snobby people live, who think that they are not part of Rancho Cucamonga. In their postal correspondence they will never put Rancho Cucamonga; Always Etiwanda. They are snobby, not because they are rich, but because their kids go to Etiwanda school district while ignoring that the elementary school district also serves the city of Fontana. Mountain Lions every once in a while eat their dogs. This is for the folks who live next to the Cucamonga Thrust fault (yaaaaaaaay, buying a house next to an active geological fault line that has views of the smoggy valley. woooooo!). Oh the Animal shelter is located here. So is the library honoring Paul Biane who gave developers 102 million of county money in exchange for a library and campaign money. The library is the centerpiece of The mall. Not many know that it honors a crook.
Overall Rancho Cucamonga is slightly better than Fontijuana next door, but they do seem to have a problem with all their broken clock towers (psst, they are not clock towers, but cell towers. The snobby people would rather see a broken clock tower than a cell tower) pointing to 10:10. So those clock towers are only right twice a day.

Stay out of this city. The police will give you tickets for not having a license plate in the front of your car at malls. So sad they have nothing better to do. They should fight crime not punish a shopper at a mall. This city is a blood sucker of money to fill the pensions of the police, fire, and teachers. poorly run city.

Rancho Cucamonga, the self proclaimed Beverly Hills of the Inland Empire.
What bad can be stated about a place tucked just beneath the soaring mountains of San Bernardino County that is the former home to several wineries as well? When push comes to shove… THIS PLACE HAS EVERYTHING!!!
Million dollar mansions, a plethora of shopping, countless (REPEAT …COUNTLESS) restaurants all at your disposal not to mention freshly paved and well maintained streets all perfectly manicured. This is probably the ONE city within the Inland Empire (next would be East Highlands and possibly Chino Hills thereafter) that you can jog around free of worries and even so much as dare to leave your car doors unlocked as you grocery shop.
Hailing from these parts and with family still residing here, I’m no stranger to the town by any means. It’s actually always a pleasure to take a drive out this way. Picture Beverly Hills or even Brentwood without the convolution, stress and traffic (let alone pretentiousness) endured while traversing within Los Angeles.
Whoever did the planning for this city needs a serious pat on the back followed by a glass of wine and then a vacation! The prices for rentals and home purchases while steep for some are still undeniably reasonable for most.
This, ladies and gentlemen is nothing short of strategic as it gives the place a fresh, upscale and regal feel yet still manages to prevent the wildebeest from straying too far into the desert’s oasis! Hell, if the city is sufficient enough to be portrayed by Ice Cube within his «Next Friday» movie, then that within itself should speak volumes as I see it.
From 4^th Street… northward (towards the mountains) then across Foothill and Baseline on into the city of Alta Loma, this place didn’t skimp on anything!!! It’s one of the few places out this way that you can be proud to call home and continuously undergo an inundation of things to do and should you ever become bored, lol, simply travel down Miliken or Haven on to 4^th Street. Ontario Mills is just around the corner (not to mention the Ontario International Airport).
Come to think of it. I don’t even think Rancho Cucamonga possesses a ghetto. Lol. Seriously. It’s all just very well thought out. Unlike LA and Orange Counties, you don’t have to continuously forage, locate and pay for parking.
Tragically however, …at end of the day and once the sun sets behind the those breathtaking mountains,…this place is STILL LOCATED within the Inland Empire and well, your electric bill (from BLASSSSTING your air conditioning) is guaranteed to reflect that.
That, alone… is worth a mandatory star deduction.

I have lived in Rancho Cucamonga for my whole life and plan to stay in the city. The city has EVERYTHING needed for either an upper middle class or rich lifestyle. Haven Estates is ranked the 13^th richest neighborhood in the State @ $ 352,000 per year with Bel Air right above at #12 $ 355,000. If you have bad things to say about Rancho Cucamonga’s wealth you obviously have never seen the multiple estate neighborhoods at the top of every single street from Sapphire to Day Creek. We ARE the Beverly Hills of the Inland Empire. Not to mention Chino Hills is the wealthiest city in the State with citywide average income of over $ 100,000 Compared with Beverly Hills @ $ 78,000 and Rancho Cucamonga @ $ 76,000. So eat your heart out.

I’m a single professional and bought a real nice, two-​story 1,800 sqft home in RC five years ago. You get well maintained streets and landscaping, great public parks everywhere, and plenty of places to shop, eat out, and go jogging or mountain biking. The neighbors are all friendly and hard-​working, the schools are highly rated, and all the neighborhoods are well laid out and very safe. I live in the Alta Loma area and the whole place is very upscale. If you’re someone who is looking for some «action», a very lively night life, and plenty of excitement and drama in a town, then you will NOT like it here! For me, this is perfect!

I’ve been living in Rancho Cucamonga since 1985 and have seen lots of new construction, new schools, city scandals like Chris C mentioned and the opening of the Victoria Gardens Mall. This city has a lot to offer if you have a young growing family but if you’re a young professional looking to enjoy some nightlife and culture then you’re in the wrong city and I suggest you move closer to Los Angeles or Orange County for all of that.

Fuck this boring ass city aka city of bell! All they care about is VG. If your a mom and pop business I wouldn’t open up business in RANCHO they will fuck you over. RANCHO thinks they are Beverly Hills lol did they forget they are in the IE lol.
