Yogurt Monkey

Only actually been here once because this place is never open as late as is advertised on the website or the door. Signs and website say 10pm, but in showing up at 9:30pm and 9:45pm things doors were locked and no service. I won’t be wasting my time trying to get over here if I can’t even guarantee they will still be open.

Quality yogurt and wonderful selection of toppings. Don’t miss this stop when you’re in the area and want a yogurt shop open late.

This place is always struggling with keeping their machines operational and the staff can never answer simple questions without having to go in the back to find an answer. The staff often seems confused and the yogurt is often poorly mixed. I wish this place was managed more lovingly.

$ 0.49 an ounce can be dangerous but if done right, it’s amazing!!!

I went with German chocolate cake yogurt, Reese’s pieces, butter finger chunks and «hard hat» which is magic shell.
My kids and I got 3 smalls with 3 toppings each and it was under $ 12!
In fact I’m going back for more!!!

BEWARE!
This shop is under new management. Today I was cheated by $ 1.10 purchasing a 6 ounce
small yogurt without a topping. I was charged $ 4.10 and thought it was high knowing that
I had 6 ounces. I went back to the shop and asked the girl how much the cost of an ounce was
and she said .49 cents. I asked her why she charged me $ 4.10 for six ounces and she got
a strange look on her face. When I asked to speak to the owner, she said she wasn’t in.
For several months I’ve noticed that I pay about one third more at Yogurt Monkey than
Yogurtland. I now realize that the clerk has been overcharging me, and probably pocketing
the overcharge.
I will report this to the owner, but wanted to alert customers.

I just called right now, May 24^th at 12:12pm and whoever answered the phone was rude and has no idea how to do her job.

Average froyo place with 8 flavors that change every few days. Toppings aren’t as fresh and fruit selection is lacking. It’s the only non alcohol place that stays open past 10 around the area though so it’s an okay place to catch up with some friends. I find it kind of pricey as well but it probably comes with the rent.

Step into the jungle. the YOGURT jungle, that is!
True to its name, Yogurt Monkey indeed takes you to a «jungle», with appropriately drawn pictures on the windows and decorations inside. We were greeted cheerfully upon entering and given sample cups to test out their 8 or so flavors. During our visit, these ranged from basic vanilla and chocolate to watermelon sorbet and pecan praline, as well as sea salt caramel latte (try to find that anywhere else)! Nutrition facts were conveniently provided for each.
I ended up getting a mixture of the sea salt caramel latte, pecan praline, and honey Greek style. The honey yogurt was fairly runny, but tasted good via sample cup so I went for it. None of the yogurts particularly stood out to me as a favorite (I couldn’t tell them apart in my cup after a while) but I also didn’t try the more fruity tart flavors either.
Toppings were available in the typical self-​serve open counter format. There were the usual candy, fruit, and chocolate pieces, plus a wide array of sauces, including marshmallow and hard top! My favorite topping on this visit was something new — little sea salt chocolates that I had to restrict myself from lest I devour the whole supply. in the back, it appeared they also used to have a cereal bar whose dispensers now sit empty along the wall.
Don’t forget to ask for a stamp card; 10 adorable monkey stamps can be redeemed for 10 free ounces of yogurt! Per the Facebook page, they appear to switch up the yogurt flavors every month or so, so that could incentivize another visit, but probably only if I happened to be in the area again.

They only offer about 5 flavors, what one that they do offer is completely dairy free (sorbet) which I was really excited about! It was super tasty… Strawberry Kiwi! However, their fruits are not fresh and they all looked canned, which I guess is to be expected. Their store is very clean and the staff are nice. Not much to complain about here! And the sign says that it is 46 cents per ounce, which is even a few cents under some other yogurt places!

I like this place. Nice array of yogurt and toppings. I like these types of yogurt spots instead of pinkberry! Good location as well.

What a great place. The owner very kind and always has good fresh options to choose from. Coconut is my favorite! But today the peanut butter is really good. Hope you get the chance to enjoy this great little spot.

Wasn’t that good. Only had a few flavors and the topping containers were hard to work with. The lids of the candy containers were hinged to close automatically but it made it really hard to open the lid, grab the spoon to get the candy and hold the yogurt at the same time.
Whole back wall didn’t have any toppings in it.

A great place to get fro-​yo, the price is good and the toppings are plentiful. The flavors are always changing, so there is always something new to try. :)

Pretty good. .. I like make your own places. They make you feel in control, but that comes with a price…you tend to overdo it. .. The place is convenient and right off Sunrise. Tucked in between Starbucks and Beach Hut Deli, Yogurt Monkey is a great place to get your froyo fix.

This place is perfect for kids and parents alike. Kid tables and seats and a big long couch to chill on.
The yogurt selection is tasty with a few changes here and there… consistency and tons of toppings.
I want to go crazy and eat up here, but gotta keep it reasonable so this is a great place to get desert.

So far this is probably the worst yogurt place I’ve visited (I’m a bit of a yogurt connoisseur). The yogurt was pretty runny and thin. Toppings were pretty standard but I’m not sure why the whole back wall of topping boxes were empty.
Also, the seating inside was weird, with a bench seat in back and chairs in front, so you basically sit next to random people. I like privacy while savoring tasty yogurt, and here I received neither.

Hot summer day. The only hydration you get is the sweat on your back and under your pits. What can you do? Get some froyo stat!
Erhm, this place might’ve been 5 times better in my head because it was flippin hot and I needed some relief from the heat. You walk in. You need to ask for sample cups. Flavors weren’t anything special or out of the ordinary. No banana and this place is catered to monkeys? Also, is it me or does 0.49 cents per ounce seem a little expensive? The froyo wasn’t gourmet or very creamy or rich.
I didn’t encounter runny machines. However the bathroom was out of order.

Its Friday and I decided that after a long hard week of work I needed a treat. (A sweet treat). A mommy and daughter pit stop was in order and I decided it was time to try out the Yogurt Monkey.
I found the place to be very cute! (Yep, cute). Maybe the striped pink wall had something to do with it. It looked like a little girls dream bedroom but I digress. :)
The Yogurt:
There was a nice selection of yogurts (cookie & cream, Vanilla bean, pistachio, raspberry, original tart, low fat car cable chocolate and a couple of other flavors).
They had toppings galore! (Peanut butter chips, chocolate chips, cheesecake, brownie, mint cookies and many many more!) They had various candy toppings too and even hot toppings. It was my fat girl in my small frame dream! Very hard to control the urge to get every yummy topping imaginable. But of course I knew that my bowl couldn’t withstand it. (Plus you pay by weight so that really deterred my urge to splurge).
My O’pinion:
I decided to get layers of flavors. The first being the cookies & cream. The second, vanilla bean. The third, original tart. All of which was very yummy and satisfying. I also piled on the brownie bites, chocolate mint cookies (my fav!), cheesecake bites, peanut butter chips and mochi (mochi? Whatever that is). I must say that even though I was full from my small (chimp) bowl of yogurt… I wanted to go back for more because it was just that good!
The dollaration situation:
For two small (chimp size) bowls that were filled to the brim surprisingly it came up to a little over $ 8. Not too shabby!
My verdict:
I was pleasantly pleased and will be returning on the many hot days to come. Plus you get a punch card and after your 10^th visit (two stamps today for my daughter and myself) the 11^th one is free. Not a huge incentive but nonetheless its something free.
Try it. you’ll like it. Go ahead, you can trust me! (I think)

They had at least 8 flavors of yogurt on tap (8 or 10? not sure), and all of them had printouts of the nutritional information right next to the tap. For those who don’t feel like reading the nutritional info, the yogurts were also labeled as premium, low-​fat, etc. I liked that they had three separate, labeled sizes of cups in dispensers as opposed to laying out on a table jumbled up like some other places do. There was also a coming soon board for future flavors.
I had the red-​velvet cheesecake flavor and it was pretty good. The man who was running the place handed us sample cups so we could get our own samples, but that was understandable because he was the only one working and was helping what seemed like a very demanding couple.
There was plenty of seating available, and there was even a small table for little kids to sit at.
There were tons of toppings, but only one flavor of mochi (plain). It was good mochi as far as being fresh and soft, but who wants plain gelatin flavor?
Also, the jelly beans were labeled «jelly bellies,» but were actually just plain, cheap jelly beans, not real Jelly Bellies.
My mostly-​full chimp (small) cup was only about $ 2, which is cheaper than the places I usually go to. I would come back here if I’m in the area.
I noticed that they have a rewards card, but it was not offered to me so I’m not sure what it entails.

I’m not as big on yogurt as most people, but I’ve had enough to compare my findings, and this is place is just okay.
There were a couple of flavors to choose from, of what I remember I think there was: chocolate, vanilla, mango, lemon, tart (at least 2 more, but I can’t recall). The yogurt itself was alright, but then again, I only got vanilla and chocolate. There is a big selection of toppings, which is cool, but of them, I usually use sourpatch kids and/​or reeses (weird combo right). The sourpatch kids looked a little old and didn’t taste like right out of the box. I saw a wall of cereal dispensers, but I guess they weren’t filled for some reason.
The décor was pretty cool. They play on the theme of «Monkey» throughout pretty nicely. Even the cup sizes are named after monkeys, cool, haha. The sitting area was pretty modern, which was refreshing to see, but then again, what yogurt joint doesn’t look modernized and hip? Aside from the décor, the small details like cleanliness seemed to affect my review. Past the storefront, the area hidden behind the main room going towards the bathrooms seemed a little run-​down. The floor was a little beat-​up too throughout the place.
This place is alright to get the job done, but if you’re looking for quality, you should try else where.
