I had my vision corrected here in 2005. Ten years later and it is still nearly perfect. By nearly, I mean I have the smallest amount of correction possible in prescription sunglasses but that is all I use. The process itself took less than 15 minutes although the office wait time was long due to them having all patients show up at the same time then calling each in based on some unknown schedule. Definitely take the Valium and get the tear duct plugs as dry eyes is no joke. I’d do it again in a second and it was worth every penny!

Lets start with the fact that Ive been wearing glasses since the fifth grade and my vision was so bad I couldnt see the giant E without squinting my eyes. Hating glasses and tired of contacts, I decided to get lasik. I read some of the reviews and decided to try it. I went in for the «qualifying» appointment and after a series of the usual machines (air puff, etc) and saw the optometrist. All the staff was really friendly and helpful. Long story short, I qualified and had my lasik done this saturday.
Note that the doctor who checks your vision is not the same one who does the procedure. Procedures are done only on the weekends (Friday and Saturday) so as to give you 1 – 2 days to recover before going to work. Saturday is the day that most people request so it gets very busy. This was fine for me, but If youre the type of person that likes to ask a lot of questions and wants a lot of attention, try to schedule for a Friday, when they actually have time for this. You will also need a driver for the day of surgery. Try to grab someone who wont bring their kids. Theyre waiting room is small, and especially when its busy and people are nervous/​anxious about having surgery, kids tend to get on people’s nerves. They do not have a kids room.
The entire procedure took 8 minutes. I was very nervous but the doctor and nurses were very reassuring and talked me through the whole thing during the procedure, helping me relax knowing that everything was going as planned (and the valium helped some too). They also prescribe you antibiotics and anti-​inflammatory drops. Follow all the instructions/​precautions given and everything should be fine. Problems arise when people dont follow directions and then blame doctors. I’m still recovering, but my post-​op exam went great. Overall, Im VERY happy with the procedure so far.
My final tip would be to occasionally check groupon. They have up to 50% off the same exact procedure, which is a STEAL considering the cheapest is about 1500 per eye.

After a year and a half –I wanted to follow up as a client and not a employee that the services I received here was awesome. After 6mnth my left eye loss barely a smudge of sight but they wanted a better outcome and so, they rescheduled me for a second at no charge procedure and now it’s no problems at all. You should considering you are someone whom is tired of having to take the steam off your glasses. :)

Be careful. I had my eyes done and paid to have the life time warranty.
I tried to go back and have my checked again for now I am back to glasses.
To say the appointment was a joke is being nice. I and everyone else where rushed its like they over booked. They tested my eyes than put on the glasses that they use to slide the different lenses into and told me to go to main waiting room and see how I like it. I felt like a idiot many got good laugh but it was not funny to me. I sat and sat and sat some more. Than finally they called me back in. I said I did not see much if any difference. That basically was it. They than rushed me out ??? I was so upset and confused at that point I left. I than called to talk to someone about my visit and to ask if my warranty could be used at another location. Lady could not even answer me after what seemed like hours on the phone. Than I tried emailing them on there web site. I never got call .

Do not go here. I had a scheduled appointment for 11 a.m. never got any pre op instructions, took the drugs they prescribed and then they would not let me have the procedure. They are rip off and very unprofessional I am a registered nurse and have never seen anything like this. Dont do it!

Came here about a year ago and had LASIK. The process was simple enough. But no one warned me that the first night my eyes would burn so bad I thought they were on fire. This continued for about 8 hours. The end result was great and I have ditched the contacts. But they should warn you.

HORRIBLE experience. Since my surgery my eyesight is worse than it was before. Both fields of vision are bad. The night after surgery I had to call the emergency number which they assured me were always manned but found that not to be true since nobody answered that number.
This office is friendly, but insincere. They will smile, but there will be no service, just the «run around». Often the wait to be seen is long because they double book. In short, it’s like a mass production line of patients.
When I finally decided to seek services elsewhere and requested that my records be sent to my new doctor, I jumped through all the hoops of signing a release form and Faxed it back to the Lasik Center. I talked to Jennifer who said that she was in receipt of the release form and that she would take care of the matter right away. A couple of days passed and my new doctor had not receive the form. I again called Jennifer who said that she would resend it. It still hasn’t been received. Once again I called Jennifer to cancel my next appointment and to severe all ties with the Lasik Center in Rancho Cordova.
I most certainly would not recommend this office.

My Vision is awesome! Thanks to The staff at The Lasik Vision Institute. I can now see! Dr. mayer is fantastic and explains everything about the procedure very well. Dr. Wasserstrom is a kind and caring surgeon. I am so glad I finally had LASIK surgery :)

I had Lasik surgery four months ago. Before the surgery, I was far-​sighted, and could drive without glasses. Today, I have a field of vision of about 4 – 10 feet, depending on how many times I blink. I cannot read road signs until I am almost right up on them, and I have to use several different pairs of reading glasses, depending upon whether I am at my computer, or just the time of day. To say that I am frustrated and disappointed is the gross understatement of the millennium. Because I could not use my computer for extended periods of time, I had to drop one of my college classes several weeks after the surgery, and my grade in my other suffered because I was not able to complete my online coursework on time. My work also suffered, because my inability to see my computer very well caused me to miss a lot of typo’s and errors — not a good thing when you’re a graphic designer. Before I had the surgery, I made it very clear that I did not want mono-​vision (one eye sees distance, the other close up), but that’s what I have. One eye can see 2 – 5 feet clearly, the other sees 10 – 25 fee clearly). I would have been happy just to need reading glasses, which is what they told me to expect after the surgery. But now I have to go get prescription glasses to hold me over while I ponder whether or not to have touch-​up surgery in May, after I finish this semester at school.
I’m sure that my age (over 50) is probably a factor, although their sales pitch indicated that wouldn’t be a problem at all. But if you are over 50, I would not take a gamble on this procedure, or this organization. You only get one set of eyes…

I was looking for a place to do LASIK, because the people my optomotrist suggested were $ 3600. The reviews here looked ok, and I talked to someone who used them. So I called and they made an appointment for me for 1÷13÷15. They call on ¹⁄₁₂ and confirm the appt. I drive from another city to their office and find out they are closed all day, it a regular closed day for them.
Now I’m rethinking having laser eye surgery with people who can’t schedule an appointment.

I was considering lasik surgery and I wanted to check this place out. I saw a commercial on tv and made an appointment for a consultation. I put a $ 100.00 deposit down for surgery but then decided to cancel. The deposit is fully refundable if cancelled 48 hours prior to surgery. I called 6 days before the procedure and was told that the money would be refunded back. I am still waiting for the money and it has been well over a month since that first phone call. I feel like they are giving me the run around. It’s frustrating but what can you do when you can’t even get to speak to the manager because she’s too «busy».
Update–
So I finally received my $ 100 today. After nearly 2 months of calling and leaving messages and e-​mailing Kurtis from CBS news they finally reimbursed my $ 100 deposit. It was just ridiculous how long it took them because I was suppose to be reimbursed after just 2−3weeks. Why does it have to lead to this? Calling a news station to make a consumer report? This is just bad business, do NOT have surgery here!

I had my eye surgery here and am so happy with the results! And they make financing easy too! that being said, make sure to schedule time in your day when you need to come in for appts because they are often running WAY behind. I had a 1:00 appointment today, and they didn’t even call me back until after 2:00 to start my checkup! Fast forward to 3:30 and still at the office waiting to talk to someone about payment for my boyfriend. Seriously?! 2.5 hrs?! NOT COOL! Why do they schedule appointments on top of each other when they are obviously under-​staffed?! Annoying.

DON’T DO IT! If you have presbyopia (you use reading glasses), it doesn’t work. I wasted $ 1,600 on this treatment and it is even worse than it was before. Believe me, it’s easier to just stick with your reading glasses! They never called me afterwards to follow up to see how I was doing. DON’T DO IT! It’s not worth it.

I read the reviews but had 3 friends who had positive experiences. I was not so lucky. I have a $ 2500 credit card bill and totally mangled vision. They don’t know what went wrong, won’t refund me, and can’t fix it. My vision is now completely different than it was prior to my surgery. My previous prescriptions don’t apply anymore so I have had to purchase two new prescriptions in the past 6 months. I gave to hire am attorney, get a second opinion at griffin and reed, and will be out at least $ 5,000 when this is all said and done… Not to mention my vision can never be fixed now.
Beware! Go to another practice that guarantees their results.

I had surgery here a few years ago and it went absolutely great… still no issues at all. I recommended my wife to have it done and her surgery didn’t go as well. Vision was not fixed. Her vision was improved, but not fixed. Only thing different is that we have a different vision prescription. Office manager continued to give us run-​around. «need to wait 6 months». We waited 6 months, now my wife has awful headaches and Lasik does nothing about it. They are sympathetic to it but will not do anything about it. We asked for a refund with no success. They quickly became the type of business that wanted us to go away and not disrupt their assembly line procedure.
As far as I am concerned, they have a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ success rate… is that worth thousands of dollars and the health risk. Def not… Go to a different place, even if it costs a bit more

Great experience, office staff is busy yet very pleasant and friendly. I had been thinking about getting Lasik for many years because I was fed up with glasses that get scratched, broken or just wear out. I saw the advertisement about $ 299 per eye for people that have a low prescription and no astigmatism. I don’t know how many people fit into that category but knew that I did not. I assumed that I would pay significantly more because I had a complex prescription but, the free exam convinced me to check it out. I live in Redding CA., a 3 hour drive, but needed to go to Sac anyway and this was the perfect excuse to take the drive sooner than expected. It took 4 hours to get through my exam and all of the explanations of what I could expect should I decide to go through with it. They gave me papers to read detailing the risks and expectations of the surgery. They also offered «mono vision» which is having only one eye done because of presbyopia, the normal aging of the eye causing problems with near site. I elected to have both eyes done. I got an early appointment on Sunday for the surgery and was in and out in less than an hour. I was instructed to sleep as much as I could the rest of that day and that night to rest my eyes so they would have the best chance to heal. By the time I woke up my eyes were still very blurry but they had told me they would be. By the next morning I could see many things I could not before the surgery but most things were still blurry. They had to put a «Bandage» contact on one eye and it was slightly uncomfortable but not intolerable. Sunday, the day after the surgery, I went in for my follow up exam and by 10:00 am I was ²⁰⁄₂₀ but it was slightly blurry. The doctor filling in for the regular Dr, who’s away on maternity leave, informed me that my vision would fluctuate for the next few weeks and that I may have some problems with night vision for the same 2 – 3 weeks (?). I drove myself without glasses all the way home and marveled at how well I could see with no contacts or glasses. They provided sunglasses due to increased light sensitivity and that too was a blessing.
I shoot archery and went to the range when I got home on Sunday, just to see how well I could see the targets and was pleased that I could shoot up to 60 yards away albeit the targets were not clear.
It is Monday and I am reading everything I can at distances just to check how I am doing and am extremely pleased. I can see a significant improvement from yesterday and am excited to find out just how well my vision gets.
As far as costs go, I was correct that I was not in the $ 299 category but then again I knew I would not be. I checked locally on the price for the same procedure and was quoted $ 2,600 per eye. Not to mention the extra charges and they only gave a one year guarantee. I got both eyes done with a life time guarantee at the Lasik Vision Institute for less than what the local ODs charge for one eye.
I recommend the Lasik Vision Institute in Rancho Cordova to anyone and everyone that is tired of contacts and or glasses!!!

I have to write a review because I’m so grateful. I had an enhancement surgery on Friday, 4÷18÷14, because I was so blind it didn’t take all the way the first time. At my follow up appointment they told me I had an abrasion on left eye and to ice it for the next few days. By the next day I couldn’t even open my eye, this was Easter Sunday. Even though it was a holiday I called their call center to see if there was anything they could do to help me. They got me in contact with the office manager and she drove all the way out to the Rancho location to help me out. She put a contact over my eye to act as a bandage and gave me some eye drops to ease the pain. I seriously felt like ripping my eye out all day and I am so thankful that she was willing to help me on a holiday. Five stars for customer service, no doubt. Plus I can see without glasses now, and that’s really great. Definitely worth the money!

So many issues I don’t even know where to start. About 8 years ago I went to LVI for Lasik because of its $ 299 advertising. They told me I didn’t qualify for it and wanted $ 3800 to perform the surgery. It was bait and switch advertising. I ended up negotiating it for $ 1200 plus $ 200 for tear duct plugs. The surgery seemed to be a success, but a large group of us were herded through the process like cattle at a dairy, very scary. I was never told about follow-​up appointments after the initial follow-​up. I never received paperwork. I was never offered a warranty. I was never informed that my poor vision could return after surgery. I was never informed that there could be long-​term complications. I was told however, that LVI performed future needed procedures for $ 300. The ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision took but only for about 5 years. For the last 3 years, my right eye has been progressively getting worse to the point where I can’t even drive at night. Several months ago I contacted LVI and was told that I couldn’t receive the $ 300 price to have the procedure re-​done in my right eye because due to their enhanced technology, their prices were much higher now and they don’t honor prior, verbal promises. The woman on the phone did take my information and said she would look up my records and give me a call back to discuss other options. She never returned my call, most likely they no longer have my records. I recently went to an optometrist to try and get fit for glasses to see better. After a full examination, he told me that I had what’s called keratectasia (permanent Lasik Damage) and there was nothing that could be done at this time to correct it. I was warned to no longer drive at night, which I probably should have known already, since the roads are so blurry I can’t see the lines and there is a glare that I can’t get past even with squinting. There are apparently some surgery methods being tested right now that may help those of us who acquired this condition as a result of laser surgery, but most likely insurance will not cover it when it becomes available.
Description of keratectasia:
If the laser removes too much tissue during LASIK or the flap made too deep, the structure of the cornea can be weakened. This weakening can cause the cornea to bulge forward in an irregular fashion, causing increasing astigmatism and distorted vision that cannot be corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses, or a LASIK enhancement procedure.
This is what happens when you herd a bunch of patients through a surgery in 15 minutes like cattle. I’m only 42, this is how my life will now be, until a surgery to repair this problem LVI caused me — becomes attainable. My kids will never be allotted the privilege of having their mother pick them up at night from football games or birthday parties and any future day trips for me are now out of the question. What a nightmare, thank you LVI for playing games with real people’s lives. Those of you who posted positive reviews, I’d love to read what you post a few years from now when you can no longer see at night and/​or find one or both of your your eyes completely unrepairable from lasik damage.

Hi, I’m 19, and opted for PRK surgery from the Lasik Vision Institute. I’m in the Army National Guard and was tired of wearing contacts and glasses during training periods. So I looked into laser treatment.
I was quite reserved about getting this at first with all the negative reviews I read online, but it was well worth it. Prices start at 299 an eye, but increase the worse you eyes get. Mine were at the worse around –5 to –6 for both eyes, so mine came around to $ 3000 total (with the military discount). It sounds like a lot, but they have payment options with no interest (if payed monthly on time). So really I’m paying around 125 bucks a month for it. Totally worth it.
It’s been 3 weeks since surgery, and I’m seeing 20/​20, and damn near close to ²⁰⁄₁₅.
