History

Established in 1994.

Ron Harbeck, owner, obtained his contractors license in 1989 and became exclusively involved with solar heating in 1994. The business has grown every year since and currently has three California locations — Rancho Cordova, Pleasanton, and Fremont.

We had solar panels installed last year. It feels awesome to see how much power the 16 panels are generating. We got the smallest system the sold, bought an electric car, and still have a negative balance with PGE. Who knew monitoring the kilo watt hours generated by your solar panels could be so entertaining?
The customer service was excellent and very responsive to emails. There were some construction delays due to weather and holiday scheduling. From signed contract to turning on the system, it took almost 3 months. I would take that into consideration if you are planning to get a new solar system before the 30% federal rebates expires Dec 31, 2015.

I had these guys installed panel in my roof two years ago. They ruined my stucco and told me the vibration at the end of the cycle was normal. They made live with that noise for 2 months. Bad guys bad service. They came back 5 times and still the problem was not fixed. Had to go to another company before they ruins house even more. Stay away. Don’t trust them.

OK, here is an update. We used the panels all summer long and they work fantastic! So the customer service was off with a winter install, but the product is great. Our pool (with no cover and shade in the afternoon) was a warm 85+ degrees all summer and early fall. Our kids (3 and 1) were able to play in the water until early evening (again in the shade) with no blue lips or shivers, just «ahhh, do we have to get out’s» ;) This was the first summer to have panels, and so far we recommend this product.

They have since resolved my problems to my satisfaction. Darren has been most helpful and responsive. The owner has apologized for the lack of response problems and explained that they had bitten off more than they could chew at the time. They have since been very helpful — even filled out a PG&E Rebate for me. And they are reasonably priced, too.
