History

Established in 1986.

— Professional Lock & Safe was founded in 1986 by John Van Adrighem. Through dedication, hard work and commitment to customer service the company has grown to be one of the leading physical and electronic security providers in the Sacramento — Central Valley region over the past 30 years. Currently Professional Lock & Safe services clients from Modesto to Redding, and Davis to Lake Tahoe. Today the daily operations are are being overseen by Tony Samaniego, 15 a year veteran to the physical, electronic access control and security arena.

I started in this industry in 1997 when I was hired on with Yates & Felts. I am incredibly grateful for all of the people who have helped me along the way. I was sent to Von Duprin, LCN and the Glynn Johnson factories to be trained on DHI, IR sales and service. While working for Y&F’s, I met Ron Boxman, owner of R.P. Boxman and Assoc. Ron helped guide me toward my next venture, Opening Technologies. Owner Martin Burkhart, a retired Schlage engineer, taught me more about Schlage than a lifetime of classes could have. Martin and I created the model for IR’s service company. Next, LCN Gurus Dick and George trained me on LCN. Soon after, the Clements brothers asked me to start Finish Hardware Solutions, a Sacramento area service company; and I gained invaluable knowledge. Next I moved on to Economy Lock and learned about the daily operations of a lock shop, which brings me to Professional Lock. I have been given a great opportunity here and I’m doing my best to make the most of it.

I came to the key shop today (a shack that helps duplicate keys) and thought this place was kinda cool as you can see all different types of keys hanging.
I waited a while as there was a customer in front of me, but I was in no hurry. I told the clerk/​key copier that I had been to 2 different locations and they aren’t able to copy both keys, only one. The clerk stated that he could copy them and literally copied both keys in less than a minute! I asked where the key covers are as he used the same key to copy both. For 2 small keys it was less than $ 5 which is awesome because I’ve paid more at larger hardware stores.
What took me back though was the conversation I had with the clerk. When I told him that I had to make copies for my boss, he stated in a way as to why I’m doing it instead of him and that having to go get copies made for your boss is petty/​uncommon work. I didn’t take it personally as it’s my job (executive assistant), but I think if it were someone else, they might have been insulted.
I will come back to this place if I need any more keys copied as they are able to copy car keys too (keys that have microchips, etc.)

If I could give them no stars, I would! I used them the 1st time as they were suggested by my Door Subcontractor. I had them set up to go out to the site, and because I did not «confirm» they did not show up. I called & called the contact (who is the Owner!) and it took forever to get him to respond. He stated because he never received a final confirmation he did not send his crew out. I gave them another chance to do additional work on the same job. Had them all set up, called and confirmed 2 days before the job was scheduled — they confirmed they would be there. Then the day they were to be there — nobody showed up. We could not get a hold of anyone, nobody returned calls. We had to have the space unsecured with only a construction lock all weekend. Got a lame excuse on Monday morning, and have been waiting 3 hours on when they will get out to the site to do their work! DO NOT USE!!!

i bought a set of OEM uncut keys for my Honda offline and brought them in to get cut, they were fast, friendly and knowledgeable. i would definitely recommend this place to anyone because i’ve been there before and they are consistently great

Had a front screen door lock that was missing a key. I brought the lock to this place and within 5 min, got a key made and guy at the counter didnt even charge me for the additional copies.

I needed to make a copy of a key for my boss. Since I’m still unfamiliar with Sac & the surrounding areas, I took to Unilocal.I wasn’t too worried about how stellar somewhere was, but I wanted somewhere close. When I got here, the only employee was taking out the trash, but was back quickly. In about 20 seconds I had my key ready to go. The best part was, I got my new key for free. Not intentionally, I’m sure. When I tried to pay– key valued at $ 1.65– with my debit card, the guy told me it was okay, and that I could just pay him next time I had a key need. Um, thanks.

So I went in to get some locks, high quality. The store is literally the size of a parking attendant booth, however they have licensing by BEST as an authorized dealer so I thought I would give them a try. This is the only reason they have 2 stars, best lock cert. otherwise it would be 1…
–They are primarily locksmith on call business and they make keys, however I wanted to order some double deadbolts. They have only one of each high quality lock on site, everything is on order unless I wanted to downgrade. So I got a quote of about 800 for the locks I wanted, fair priced for best locks if I self install etc etc… This is market value and its a good deal.
I come back and talk to them to place this 800 dollar order and now a different clerk does a price switch on me. I now have to pay DOUBLE, 1600 for 4 double deadbolts if I remember right. I go, «well I was quoted 800 last week and I wanted to place my order» clerk goes «let me check with the owner»
–The owner is sitting behind a tiny wall in this booth watching TV, he doesn’t even have the common courtesy to walk out and talk with me when I CAN SEE HIM DIRECTLY. The shop is like an 8′ by 10′ store and this guys is pretending I don’t exist.
–The clerk comes back and says that the other clerk has made an error and he can’t sell them for less than that, no exceptions. I yell over to the owner, «I was quoted a price» and he kinda hollers back «That must have been joey, the young guy, he screwed up» Still not looking at me or coming out of his ‘hidey hole’…
The clerk says sorry and asks if I want the locks, I said let me think on it…
YEP, NEVER went back… you can’t give a man a price punch in the gut of 1600 big ones and not expect them to be ticked guys. Lets teach your employees how to read the order sheets and prices, its all laid out even if it WAS an error you need to own up as a business and not leave the little guy hanging here… even a fractional discount would have netted them my business for the error, but they stiffed me.
I’m a lock and load lifetime business guy, I would have reco’d this place up and down in all my housing work… but hey that’s OK, you got Unilocal’d instead…
