Today, New years eve, I was searching for a size 16 men’s snowboard boot. Who in the world carries a size 16 men’s snowboard boot you may ask. Clarks did, that’s who. Not only did they have my size in stock, it was significantly cheaper then I had found the same boots online claiming to be the cheapest. I am new to snowboarding and the staff at Clark’s was incredibly helpful and very friendly. They gave me some advice on my board and even told me not to buy something that I thought I would need to do to make me fit it better. They checked out my board and determined it would be just fine with a couple adjustments of the bindings. They didn’t price gouge me and there was zero pressure to buy anything at all. I will definitely be back to the store as they are very close to my home and knew how to treat their customers.

I love Clarks! They have great stuff and the prices are good too! Service is excellent and they go above and beyond.

Don’t waste time and money looking for snow gear anywhere else. Clarks always has what I need at a very fair price. Everything the family needs for the snow in one place.

I honestly should’ve written this review years ago.
Just recently visited to get my board waxed and was reminded how sweet this place is.
The people here are down to earth, they’re knowledgeable, and oh so helpful.
The prices here are down to earth, which is really great if you’re just getting into the sport or looking to get some stuff for someone else that may be just starting out.
The store may be a little tight to some people and the location may be a little out of the way, if that’s not for you, you should probably just go to an overpriced retail store where the sales associates might only know half of what the folks at Clark’s know.

Drove to big5, Sports Authority, target and couldn’t find any snow boots in my toddler size, came here and they were fully stock and allot of choices to choose from, they were cheaper then sport Authority, I drive by here all the time and never noticed it thanks to Unilocal I found it. workers were helpful and knowledgable and didn’t pester me on what to buy, my next snow trip I know where to come to get all my snow gear, and the location is so convenient for me. 5 star.

Came here on the way to Tahoe in desperate need to find my toddler some snow gear without breaking the bank. They had a huge selection to chose from and their prices were extremely reasonable. To top it off, the whole staff was very friendly and helpful.

If you love heading up to Tahoe for snow sports then stop here for any gear.
PROS:
SELECTION: I came here because I couldn’t find any nice quality snowboard boots that I could afford at places like Big 5, Sports Authority, or online retailers. Plus I feel like you should really try on snowboard boots before purchasing… online returns can just be inconvenient at times. This place had a large selection of boots, bindings, boards, and clothes! They had Ride, ThirtyTwo, Salomon, Burton, and other well known brands. PRICING: The snow jackets and pants seemed to be very well priced. I saw a jacket that looked like a soft shell north face jacket for like $ 60! I ended up paying $ 179 for some nice BOA system snowboard boots.
CONS:
LOCATION: The location sucks. When you go here you have to pass the store until you get to the next stop light where you can make a U-​turn. Not a big deal but annoying nonetheless.
CONSENSUS:
Overall, this place is pretty cool. They have a large selection, merchandise is well priced, and have just about anything you’d need for a day in the snow.

Just bought a snowboard and bindings for my adv int teen daughter here. Great service. Very knowledgeable. Not pushy at all. Came here after not finding a large enough selection at rei. Clark’s is our new go to snow sport spot. By the way, we still love rei for other outdoor needs.

Just bought a jacket there. They are really understanding and helpful. My family has bought 3 snowboards with gear and full setup and a pair of skis. We do not go anywhere else to buy our stuff. They never make you feel like they are trying to rip you off. Their below retail prices and kindness make them a must go for any consumer.

Great price on a helmet that my son needed for his ski team. It’s the type of helmet with a hard cover to protect the ear area. Any Mountain, REI in Folsom, and Helm of Sun Valley were all out. Clarks had two his size to choose from.

I really enjoyed my personal shopping experience at Clarks. It’s stocked full wall to wall like a consignment store but everything is new and tidy. You can get sizes for everything from infant on up for every snow need possible. I picked up infant gloves and a hat for less than $ 10 each I think. Same brands and styles as big box stores, but better prices. Honestly there’s not one ski or snowboarding need you may have that’s not covered at this store. It’s super low pressure and they value good, old fashioned customer service.
Only improve– I’d like to see better brands for snow shoes. They have the same brands as Big 5. It’ll get the job done, but if you’re an avid snow person, you’re expecting better quality.

What an awesome store! Super cheap prices on nonbranded products and even though they’re non-​branded, the quality is amazing. Their snow jackets are marked below MSRP price and they contain multiple layers to keep you warm on the slopes. If I can remember, their snow goggles range in the $ 50-​$ 60s and my snow jacket and pants came out to $ 230 ($ 90 for the pants and $ 140 for the jacket).
Lots of selections — colors and styles. Cheap beanies, gloves, and anything you can think of. Did I forgot their workers are extremely helpful? :)

The owners and staff at Clark’s are always helpful and their prices are great. I am in love with Ride bindings and they always have amazing prices binding and on extra parts that can wear out. The staff also knows a lot about ride bindings and always know what parts will and won’t work with my bindings.
Note: Parts on any binding wear out over time. Ride bindings have held up better than any binding I have used.
They also carry Never Summer snowboarders. Which are great snowboards made in the USA that really hold up over time.
They have great prices on everything across the board.

I simply can’t rave enough about Clark’s Snow Sports. Super cheap prices on gear and swag, cheaper than trying to get it online even. Bar none, their prices are crazy below MSRP. The staff is also very attentive, doesn’t pressure you into anything you don’t want and recommends gear they themselves actually use. Craig, the owner is one cool dude. I told him about these new revolutionary bindings (The Now IPOs) and he was mad passionate about learning about it (you’ll probably see it soon). Here’s a dude who’s really into snow sports, has cool vibes and it shows when he’s talking to you. Excellent place for the gear head.
I bought a pair of RipZone pants and literally the first day wearing it, I got a Rip in the (crotch) Zone– I rode the whole day not noticing it but was curious as to why people kept staring at my crotch area, I thought it was my Jib Stick but little did I know. I brought the pants back to Clark’s the next day and Craig told me to pick a different pair/​brand because apparently those RipZones were prone to tearing.

Found everything we were looking for and then some for our trip to the snow. Staff was friendly and very helpful. They even suggested a sledding location for our trip tomorrow. My new spot for all things «snow»!

The prices are good. The staff is knowledgeable. My biggest problem is that I found a snowboard that was deeply discounted on Monday. I was running short on time and put it on hold. One of the owners Kathy said she would hold it until Wednesday. When I would be in the Sacramento area again, I live in SF. She also commented on the price and said that is a deal.
I called on Tuesday to double check if it was still on hold AND that the price was in fact the REAL price. The board retails for $ 450, it was tagged as $ 342. They assured me over the phone about the price.
When i came in on Wednesday (from San Francisco) to pick it up, Kathy’s husband (Craig?) was the one ringing me up. He questioned the price, started to talk about how people switch bags and price tags. Asking who was helping me, who put it on hold, etc. Which, I took as he was accusing me of switching price tags. He told me he would drop the price to $ 400…okay $ 10 off. No thanks, I walked away.
If he would of just said, this price is incorrect and I cannot really sell it at that. Fine, ok… I would of bought at $ 410, however his approach was rude. Customer Service is Everything, and I would gladly pay a premium for it. Backhandedly accusing me of wrong doing will never get me to step in there again.

I mail ordered a pair of skis.
When they arrived, I found out they sent the the previous year’s model instead. I pointed out the website still shows the newer model.
I asked that since it was a bother to send it back, if they would refund me $ 30… which I honestly thought was not asking too much for a older model. Craig Clark replied «no» and said for me to send them back. I replied that it would be almost $ 30 just to ship them and since it was their mistake, they should pay. He «relented» and agreed to refund me $ 20.
Easiest way to lose a customer is to haggle over $ 10 for their mistake. Can’t believe it… what a class act.

This place is the combination of all the best things in snow sports. The staff is knowledgeable and super helpful! The selection of equipment and clothes are great! And the icing on the cake? Prices here are the best I have seen anywhere!
I came here to get a new snowboard and bindings. I seriously walked out with some really nice gear at a fraction of what I would have paid at a sports chalet or something like that. Outside of a snow equipment show or a liquidation of gear out in Truckee, you cannot find a better deal. You can find anything you could ever need for your winter sports needs. The guys here will help you out and won’t make you feel stupid for asking question or up-​sale you to something that you don’t need.
Obviously when you buy stuff off season you will look at much better deals, but even in season I found pants and a jacket here for about 30% less than many other places. They carry all the major brands and have a good size selection for being a small store. Hell I even found a snowboard rack here!
Clarks is a great place! It mixes good people with competitive prices. This place has impressed me greatly!

I’m usually pretty unimpressed or intimidated by ski and snowboard shops. Either you are getting the «hard sell» by someone that knows absolutely nothing or you get the «snowboard or ski dude» that talks down to you.
Clark’s was a great find (via Unilocal). They had a pretty extensive selection of winter clothing, skis, and snowboards. I watched several of the staff when they worked with customers. They were knowledgeable but not pushy no condescending. For an intermediate skier/​boarder like me, that is the type of person I want to buy from.
I only bought a jacket during my last trip, but I’ll be back to buy a snowboard and bindings. Their prices are reasonable.
I am updating this review because I have returned a few times since my first review and each time they have exceeded my expectations.
