Sorry but I can give this place only a 2 ½ Star Rating for Adults and A 3 Star Rating For Kids.
It’s a small farm with a few Turkeys, A Few Parrots and Cockatiels and 10 or 12 Camels. The owners are fantastic people who truly care for their animals and do their best to treat everyone with a passion to entertain. They put on a great small bird show and do inform you about and the animals they care for.
That being said.
Don’t expect to get anywhere near a Camel for a picture other than your kids if they take the 2 minute quick ride once around in a circle.
On the day we were there there was a Hugh amount of people. The line for the kiddie camel ride was at least an hour long and being the only thing for kids to do. It also costs Extra.
After the bird and camel show they walk you over to a roped off area at the camel pins and tell you more about camels but unless you run ahead of the crowd you’ll have to wait a long time to see the camels he’s telling you about. From a distance that is.
Sorry but my wife and I have been trying to get here to see this for years and finely were free for the one day a month they open to the public. We had family from out of town who were looking forward to it.
Sadly it was much less than expected. We live in Ranchita and would visit again if it was a better experience. All I wanted was a nice selfie picture with a camel. No Such Luck.
So much more could be here for the entertainment value with a little more imagination. Perhaps in the future the owners will add a few simple things such as a small hot dog stand and soft drinks. They would have sold a 100 of them that day.
Maybe a little history lesson about the Turkeys, seeing Ramona Was once The Turkey Capital Of The World. A bit more for the little kids to do. They do get board easy you know.
Again I want to say the owners were Super Nice And Friendly.
But they could have used some extra help this day.
And To Think All I Wanted Was A Close Up Picture.

This place is awesome! If your in Ramona or San Diego and want to see and learn about some camels and take a nice scenic route come check this place out. Check there website for shows and hours. I went on a Sunday and they were open from 1−4pm the first half hour they had an animal/​bird show, great for the little ones. You could ride the camels, feed some sheep and see some birds and turkeys.

What an awesome, awesome spontaneous day this turned out to be! The kid went absolutely crazy for the camels, birds, and babydoll sheep. And with it being so cheap to feed the sheep, we probably could have sat there all day!
The farm is way out there from San Dawg, but if you plan the trip right, you earn the kid a nice long nap on the ride home, and, there are some pretty cool antique stores in Ramona if you make the time.
Also, make sure you check the Web site to see exactly what time of the month the camel visits are. It isn’t every weekend you know, and, weather can become an issue out there. When we went, it was pretty cold and we were happy we had some fleeces in the car.
I’d recommend this place to anyone with kids who wants to visit a farm where the people are very proud of what they do, and eager to share it with folks on a regular basis. Really, how often to you get to ride or pet a camel?

My mom and I went to Oasis Came Dairy Farm for the Pomegranate Days Festival (held on Black Friday). We went as part of a Plein Air Artists Meetup group (basically you paint outdoors on location). It was an awesome day. My mom and I brought our painting supplies and were planning on painting the camels. However, the rain didn’t cooperate and it started coming down hard PLUS we were distracted by all of the fun events. We were planning on doing a camel ride, but apparently camels tend to buck in the rain! Who knew? Next time I’m definitely riding a camel :) We watched a turkey stampede in the pouring rain, saw some cool birds and parrots, and then watched a family circus perform. We also got to get pretty close to some awesome camels and you can tell the camels are very well taken care of. We learned some cool camel facts! (And took a couple camel selfies, haha!).
They also have a little gift shop where we purchased some camel milk chap sticks. I highly recommend!
I definitely want to take my husband back here. It was such a fun and unique experience. Great place to bring kids too!

This started out as a christmas present to my boyfriend. He once took me to see my favorite animal, the capybara, so I wanted to return the favor and bring him to his favorite animal. I was really surprised that I could find a place that raised camels in California. Once I saw this I HAD to take him.
OPERATION «Take boyfriend to meet camels» was a success! We got there a little late but we still got there in time for the last half of the animal show. Luckily, we got to see Polly the cockatoo perform with Nancy, her owner and operator of the Oasis Camel Dairy. We’ve always been fans of cockatoos and this one was so adorable and well trained. I really wish we were on time to see the whole thing! There were all sorts of other animals there including: tucans, turkeys, chill chickens that walk around and mingle with the guests, cuckatoos, sheeps, horses, and an array of exotic birds.
Gil took us to meet the camels and they were so well behaved. They were so calm with all the people considering the fact that most animals would be creeped out having 50 strangers just stroking their neck and trying to get their attention. One even stopped close enough to me so I could take a selfie!
We rode a camel for 10 dollars each. I absolutely recommend it because let’s be real here, when do you ever get the chance to ride such a majestic creature?
We ended our trip in the gift shop. We just had to buy the camel milk chocolate for ourselves and everyone we knew. We had a great time talking to Nancy and she gave us great recommendations. She is a lovely woman with a great sense of humor and so much excitement for the animals and this camel dairy. She gave us some great recommendations with the lotions they made. I tried a tester and it made my hands smoother than the fancy smancy lotions you get at sephora. I bought two but now I feel like I should have bought more. I’m definitely coming back! Good family fun. Overall the place is small but a good stop for an hour of fun. They didn’t charge the $ 10 unless you ride the camel which we were happily surprised by.

We had a lot of fun at the event (Open Tour, October 24)
The cost to get in was $ 10.00 for adults, which is shown towards the middle of the page on the left of the website.
Many people were there, and they have ample parking, but your car WILL get dusty.
There was a crane, turkeys, chickens, parrots, a toucan… lotta birds… because…Gil (man who likes camels) married Nancy (woman who likes birds) and together Gil and Nancy Riegler own and operate the Oasis Camel Dairy. Nancy does bird shows too, under the name Pollywood Birds. They also have at least one horse, pygmy sheep and burros.
There is a covered area by their cute shop (which sells beauty products, moisturizers, soaps (made by Oasis Camel Dairy) and chocolate imported from Arabia) which acts as sort of a pavilion for «the show».
Nancy does an introduction of some of the dairy beasties and of Gil. He comes out with some of the camels, yesterday we got to meet Sheba (older female) and Samson (younger male)…Gil gives a lot of information about camels and shows some of the things they can do… but they don’t really do «tricks»…camels have a mind of their own and do what they want to do, which was pretty hysterical. Nancy’s birds were much better «trained» and they were pretty hysterical as well.
Afterwards, guests are fairly free to wander the grounds, take pictures, ask questions and get a camel ride (at a fair cost, I think kids are $ 5.00, and adults are $ 10.00). The camel «herd» is fairly extensive, I think there were around 20 of them.
We were there from 1:15 pm until 3:00 pm and it was time well spent. The Rieglers are excellent MC’s and hosts, and where else in San Diego are you going to have your selection of camels to pet?

I love a unique experience! The Oasis Camel Dairy is just that…
My husband and I traveled to Ramona (towards Julian) to the Oasis Dairy, a special place that has been described as the first camel dairy in the US. It has been featured in a documentary and it has been in the news. The benefits of camel milk is often featured in regard to its efficacy in treating certain digestive disorders and its use in skin care products.
The dairy is open for special events throughout the year. We attended the Watermelon Days, which was great for couples and families alike. The event featured bbq, a bird shows, a watermelon spitting competition, watermelon feeding and camel rides. The shop on-​site was open during the event and I picked up a «Watermelon Camel Lotion”(you can test the product samples). This camel milk lotion is super soft and it reminds me a lot of goat milk. The shop imports camel milk chocolate from Dubai. It is $ 12.00 a bar. Due to the heat of the day — we chose not to purchase it!
The highlight of the day was the camel ride. It was a bit short to accommodate all those who wanted a ride, but again it was the unique experience I was going for. The property includes 20 camels that provide the milk for the dairy, some turkeys, and at least 3 camels you can ride.
It’s a great place to take the little ones! We will likely return to see what they are milking up in the future.
PS Camels have funny personalities!

Went today during Watermelon Days. The wife and i took our kids and the 5 and 6 year old had a blast feeding watermelons to the camels and taking a camel ride… I did both and it was a blast.
The camel and bird show were educational and interesting. Gil, Nancy and the rest of the staff are so friendly and fun to talk to. Forgot to mention that the exotic birds (including the toucan and macaw) are incredible to watch.
Overall it’s a unique experience and I give it 5 stars for being so unique and fun. They’re not open all the time but I definitely recommend taking a tour on a day when one is offered.

We went on Saturday for the Watermelon feeding day at Oasis Camel Dairy. We had a blast of fun! The owners were informative, super friendly, best part is we were able to get close up to the Camels and pet them! Much to our surprise the Camels all were very friendly. Feeding them watermelon was an amazing experience. The farm itself we noticed was clean, organized and very well maintained.
The camel soap, lotion and products are just awesome. Who knew the beautiful animals would make such amazing products!
This is deft a place to take little ones they will enjoy being outdoors on the farm seeing the camels and other animals!
They sell food and beverages there also just in case you need it!
We will be back!

An ear full of chewed grass and camel saliva is what i got trying to take a selfie with these guys! I have to say tho, it was worth the experience.
Ive passed by this place many many times and i finally had an opportunity to go to it through work. Its one of the many hidden gems in San Diego county.
The people who run the place are super friendly. It is owned by a couple. They are very knowledgeable in what they do. The presentation is very entertaining. She is a bird trainer so she has a little bird show going on, they introduce their amazing dogs, one which is very well trained in shepherding chickens, the other… uuummm not so much lol but they make a point about it. The story on how they started a Camel Dairy Farm is pretty interesting.
They also have different kind of animals at the farm which is pretty neat.
I have to say i was disappointed that i didn’t get to try any camel milk tho lol. I know its not their fault, its California regulation, but i went for the milk and instead they sold me soap lol.
They have for sale chocolate made from Camel milk (imported)
And theu sell their own soap, lip balm, and lotion made from camel milk. I believe they also sell powdered camel milk. The whole thing was quite short tho, but its great if you stop by on your way to julian. Dont dress spiffy tho, its all dirt, its a farm :)

After watching a documentary on camel farms, I decided to do a little research. I came across
I had no idea there was a camel dairy in California. I knew I had to check this place out, so I booked a private tour with my family.
The two keepers who conducted the tour were Great! Both ladies were Kind and caring not only for the animals, but to us guest as well.
Oasis dairy rare milk product are so unique and natural. Overall I can say I’m happy with the items I purchased.
I got to experience first hand at all the love and care that Oasis Dairy puts into making their products. They truly do care about their animals and customers.
I’d say if you ever have the opportunity to visit Oasis Dairy, please do so. You won’t be disappointed. Kids especially!

Drove out from L.A. to see the camels and had a great time! The owners are so friendly and you can see how much knowledge they have about the camels (and their others animals) and how much they love them too. The show was relaxed and funny as well as informative and the extra of the birds and the herding dog were great too. Loved petting the camels and having some up close interaction with them and then of course my camel ride!!! Bought some lotion and tried the soap as well both really nice. Everyone working there were friendly and knowledgeable and seemed to love the animals which was great to see. Plan to go back for their watermelon days in August. Worth the trip for something different to do for sure.

My dreams have come true!!! One more item checked off the ol’ Bucket List.
I got to ride a camel!!! My dream trip to Egypt would have to wait — but my camel ride didn’t!!! As I was looking for things to do in Julian during the New Year holiday — I stumbled upon
!!! My plan was in place — they are only open a few times a year to the public — so I had to plan another trip to Sun Diego… bummer right!!! NOT!!! Made reservation for our party of 4 to attend the April 11 Open Farm day. Got there just before 1 p.m. and people were already seated for the animal show.
Great back story on Gil and Nancy — true show-​woman and showman. Their love and knowledge come out of every pore. The animals are well taken care of and very friendly. They spoke of doing some camel riding out in the desert and I so want to go do that with them!!! I will definitely come back again!!! It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

«That’s Amaaaazing!» Yes folks, thats what Huell Howser would and DID say about the Oasis Camel Dairy in Ramona, CA.
I attended the open house they had in mid January with some friends. As I sat through their presentation, I thought to myself, «this is totally a place Huell Howser would have gone to» Not but 2 minutes later, the owners told us the story of his visit to the dairy. This is place is truly California Gold.
It’s a fun experience with more than just camels to visit with. The couple who run it have a great story and their passion for the animals shows. This makes a great day trip if you live within an hour or 2. If you live farther, make a weekend of it and visit Julian too.
We had a great time and I would consider attending another open house in the future.

After being stuck in a car for three hours, it was nice to finally arrive at our destination, the Oasis camel dairy. Since traffic had held me up, it was quarter to three, and they were due to close in another hour or so. As I pulled into the parking lot, I was observant and careful and saw the little tiny dog run across the path of my car. I stopped, and made sure the little tiny dog had safely emerged from the other side of my car’s hood before proceeding into their lot. After parking, we approached the farm. The ticket booth was empty, kids were cheerily running about, and there was a booth set up selling some wares.
Schoolteacher and I walked past the empty ticket booth, and to the selling booth. I was quite excited to visit a Camel Dairy, and try some camel milk, camel chocolate and other camel dairy products. My brain had concocted all sorts of camel dairy products that I was excited for. Alas, all they had was soap, and hand lotions. While they did have Camel Chocolate, but it was imported, and selling at twelve dollars for a single candy bar. So, I reluctantly bought a single twelve dollar candy bar. Twelve dollars. That’s honestly the single most expensive candy bar I’ve ever purchased in my entire life. We then meandered the park for a bit.
According to the website, there’s a show that must have happened earlier before we arrived. We walked around and saw camel rides, assorted exotic birds in cages and a pen of turkeys. There was an open gate which let you get up close to a pen where you could pet a camel. Camels sure are soft.
So, long story short, three hours in the car, followed by fifteen minutes at the Camel Dairy farm where you can’t get local camel dairy products. But they’ve got camel soaps… and birds… and a dog. (Look out for the dog in the parking lot.) They get a bonus star for being the spark for an adventure to get me and Schoolteacher out to a new area of the state.

I took my friends here for a surprise holiday gift and we had a BLAST! It was such a fun afternoon! The bird show was an added treat that I didn’t know was going to happen as were the fun costumes that we got to wear! Now I can cross «riding a camel» off of my bucket list!
I would HIGHLY recommend Camel Oasis to everyone, kids or not because Gil and Nancy (the owners) are awesome! You will learn so much and have a new appreciation of how cool camels are!

What a wonderful day trip this place is!
We won tickets from our daughter’s school for the Pomegranate Days Festival at Oasis Camel Dairy and we were so pleasantly surprised at what an amusing, educational and fun day it turned out to be!
The owners Gil and Nancy are SO hospitable and friendly (although they WILL ask kids not to harass the free roaming chickens, ha) and their shows were hilarious and delightful.
We remembered them from past years at the Del Mar Fair, they are the folks who run the Wild West Turkey Stampede! All of those turkeys are onsite too, along with a bevvy of other critters, horses, sheep, mules, chickens, a crane of some sort, dogs cats and of course OODLES of camels! We got to pet and feed and love on them — camels are adorable and amazing (and not nearly as slobbery as you’d think, although they did offer paper towels and hand washing buckets)
A SUPER FUN DAY!
They apparently aren’t open every day (so be sure to check the website schedule) but I am going to bring my whole family up to Oasis Camel Dairy for their next Open Farm Tour as it will be a great Holiday gift! (as is the camel milk lotion and soap)

It’ s a really nice place to take your family and enjoy the views. We came here for the 4^th annual festival and we enjoyed every single minute of it, although we didn’t even stay for the show (it was nap time for my toddler so we had to leave).The camels are well groomed and the whole place is very clean and cozy, and the people are very nice. Thank you for what you do and we hope this place will always thrive!
P. s. The prices for cosmetics that they produce there are so low, but the quality is amazing. Highly recommend it!

Went to Pomegranate Day at the Oasis Camel Dairy Farm. it was a sweet day of people sharing their passion for birds and camels and opening up their home to about a hundred strangers.
The day started with a bird show where parrots, macaws and cockatoos performed various tricks. We took a quick break, did shopping and had snacks. Next we got to see some of the working dogs on the farm. Then, we got an up-​close-​and-​personal look at Samson, a 5 year old camel, that had been raised by them since he was a baby.
Finally, we got to feed pomegranates to the herd of camels. it was fun because the pomegranates are messy and the camels’ lips quest for the fruit and their muzzles are all tickly.
I didn’t stay for a camel ride. It was late and I had a long and winding road to drive to get home.
Recommend for families and animal lovers. (Bring a jacket because it can get chilly.)
ETA: I’ve used the Camel’s Milk Hand Lotion for awhile now and have come to love it. I wish I would have bought more. The soap is okay and the chocolate is a fun novelty but the hand lotion is something is something special.
