Take 5 Oil Change

I’ve been to this location a few times but never experienced customer service like this. I don’t think I will be back. Lost customer.

I was traveling the country and had to stop in Raleigh to get my oil changed before getting back on the road. Another oil change company actually referred me to Take 5 since they were closing shop soon. Although they do advertise a 5 minute oil change it did take about 20 minutes. You stay in your car the whole time you’re getting your oil changed and they even have a Coke fountain machine and offer all their customers soda or water while they wait which was nice! They filled up the air in my tires and even cleaned my windshield for me before I left. The staff was extremely friendly, fast, and worked very well together as a team. I would definitely recommend Take 5 to anyone in the area!

Service was friendly and efficient. The team really seemed to work together very well – everyone knew their step in the process. I will definitely go back!
Prices are more expensive than most places, but you are paying for the convenience and speed.

Quick and helpful, took about 15 minutes and they were so sweet and polite! Changed my oil, washed my windsheild, topped off the air in my tires and they gave me tons of coupons. They may be a little pricier than you think but they aren’t overly expensive by any means. The fact that they take care of every aspect of your car tell you what’s best for it help you with everything that might need to be changed they have her really cheap prices on other things like windshield wipers and such it’s worth it. I don’t have to worry about things later on cuz I’ll take care of it for me all in one place and they are so nice. Their prices are perfect for the convenience and the service that I received today. I am extremely happy about this place.

I was about to leave Raleigh for a 275 mile trip. When I checked the oil in my car, the dip stick showed it was EMPTY! Luckily I was next to the Take 5 on Capital Blvd. They determined the oil leak was from the drain plug. They replaced the old plug with a new washer and new plug, filled the crank case with oil, re-​checked to be sure it wasn’t leaking and sent me on. I was SOOOO relieved and grateful. They could have charged me anything they wanted for this diagnosis, the new plug, etc. Instead, it was all included in the ‘oil change’. I cannot praise them enough for their expert work that got me on the road safely. My car engine might have been ruined and I could have been stranded on I85 — but they knew what they were doing. Thank you, again, Roderick and Carlton. If I lived in Raleigh, I’d see you every 3000 miles.

After realizing I was waaaaay overdue for an oil change but extremely low on time I decided to stop by Take 5. The set up is like any other oil change spot but the method is definitely different. Instead of being ushered into a waiting room you stay in your car and they work around you. I was immediately greeted by an attendant, explained my options of oil change and offered my choice of coke, diet coke, lemonade or water! Nice touch!
The prices of oil changes are a bit pricier than other air oil changes and they are quick to up-​sell the crap out of you (they spent 5 minutes trying to convince me that my Toyota Yaris needed the $ 89 specialty oil change… Uh no) luckily there are tons of great coupons to knock down the price (one of which is a $ 6 off Unilocal check-​in deal).
While they advertise a five minute oil change from start to end it ended up taking a bit longer… Like 20 minutes stop to finish. Not bad, but not five minutes. Still quicker than every other place i’ve been to.
When they finished I was given some coupons, a few car air fresheners (another nice touch!) and a summary of my service! My total for a mid-​grade oil change, top off of fluids, clean my windshield and a top off of my tire pressure ended up being $ 31…Not too bad. I could probably find cheaper but the friendly touches definitely make this a place I will stop at again… I’m just hoping they’ll lay off the annoyingly persistent up-​selling.

It was our first time there and they explained the whole process. From start to finish it took about 15 minutes. Our car needed an oil and air filter change. The service was excellent and we definitely honked as we pulled out to show our gratitude and satisfaction.

Easy and quick, but was a little bit more expensive than I thought it’d be.

Came here for an oil change. The guys are very thorough. They realized that the folks at the Take 5 in Creedmore used the wrong oil in the car when it clearly states the type on the cap. They even tried to figure out from my description who made the mistake so they can ensure it doesn’t happen again over at the Creedmore spot. I will be coming back to this location instead anyways. These guys were very efficient and seemed to really care about ensuring they were providing great service and taking good care of the car. It was pretty empty there so it only took about 5 – 7 minutes.

Just to preface this, I can’t speak to the quality of the oil change I received since I don’t know much about cars or, honestly, the package I paid for. What I can do, however, is give you a brief breakdown of the service.
I was originally heading to Just Tires on Capital and even went through the trouble of making an appointment for the oil change. After arriving and learning that it would take them two hours to complete the simple oil change, I bailed on them and drove on down the road. I knew that Take 5 was there, but was always cautious to go there. It just looks like it would be a bad experience.
I was wrong.
We pulled in a waited behind another car for about three minutes before being told to pull in ourselves. The lady (I can’t recall her name) came out to us, talked to us about our car and which oil we should get. The prices are a little steep (which is why I gave it 4 Stars instead of 5), so we went with a mid-​priced option ($ 40).
They offered us a free drink, explained what they were doing the whole way through, checked the filters and fluids, topped everything off, filled the tires, and showed us the new oil with the dipstick. After everything, they cleaned the windows.
This wasn’t five minutes — more like 20, but it was a very good experience and I will be going back.

I have to say that the third time really is the charm. I went to get my oil changed and the first place I stopped at I was ignored for over 15 minutes, so I chose to take my business elsewhere. The next place I stopped they said it would be «several hours». So finally, on a whim, I stopped at Take 5 Oil Change (I had never even heard of the company before). The service was amazing. The staff was helpful and expedient. I honestly think it took less than 5 minutes overall, and in that amount of time I had the air in my tires filled, my windows cleaned, my oil changed, was offered a drink, and payed my bill. I normally don’t leave reviews but after my two terrible experiences prior to, I just had to leave a great review for these guys. Next time they will be my first choice. Oh, and did I mention I got $ 10 off because it was Ladies Day?!

A business should not advertise that they can complete a service in a certain amount of time if they cannot. I thought the idea here was a «5 minute» oil change. More like 25 minutes to be precise. While that is still a relatively short amount of time for an oil change, it isn’t five minutes. Also, they do not have a lobby, restrooms etc. You just have to stay in your car. On the plus side, the mechanic was very friendly and offered everyone in my car a drink. He also cleaned all my windows and checked the tire pressures. I will definitely be back, I just know to plan on 20 – 30 minutes and not five.

My first oil change at Take 5 was awesome. Easy and fast I was impressed. 2^nd time I tried to get my oil change I puled up and the one lane that was open had a car waiting and one just getting started on in the bay. Had to drive away.

I visited this location. The oil change process is approximately 20 minutes. I like the fact that I can stay in my car. I was able to clip coupons while I waited, check my overflowing voicemail and pin my hair up. Great use of my time! Also, the staff is really friendly and chatty. They gave me a better coupon than the one I had on my phone to use.

I’ve driven past this new Take 5 Oil Change location many times, as I’m often on Capital Blvd. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I decided to give it a shot because… my oil light had been on for several days (very, very bad)!!
I also didn’t have a lot of time, because I had to get to a meeting. But I thought procrastinating much longer, would be detrimental to my bank account, when I’d have to pay to replace a blown engine.
Anyhoo, I drove right up. No line, no waiting. There were two employees ready to greet me. One asked me to pop the hood, and the two of them spoke car talk. One thing I did understand, was that I had NO oil. Not a little, but NONE! So, this was an even bigger emergency than I’d realized. (We have an oil leak that’s obviously getting worse — that’s another story).
So, the best part of this who process, was that I stayed in my car — just like a drive through car wash. No uncomfortable waiting room with other antsy patrons. While in my car, service guy, Geoff, asked if I wanted something to drink. Say what?! He brought me out a cold cup of lemonade. Sweet!
The regular cost for an oil change is $ 35.99, but you can always find coupons on their website. So, let me tell you what that price includes.
Not only did they add 5 quarts of oil (it can’t be considered an oil change if there’s no existing oil to change), but they also washed my windshield, checked all of my fluids and air filter, checked my tire pressure, and filled up my tires. They also asked how my windshield wipers were, because they can replace those, as well!
Man! The best part was, all of this took about 7 minutes. Seriously. I was timing them. ;-)
At the end of the service, Geoff offered me a breath mint. I asked if my breath was funky. He said he wanted me to leave their business with a good taste in my mouth. :-)
Then, as I exited out of their location, I saw a sign that read, «Honk if you received great service.» Of course, I honked all the back way to Capital Blvd.
Geoff shared that this business was started in Louisiana, and they have several locations in the state. Now they’re branching out to other states. I think he said they will be opening a new location off of Creedmoor and/​or Leesville Road soon, but don’t quote me on that. This business was a great find!
