Holy Smokes… I’ve re-written this review several times and I keep changing the rating. Let’s try again. Pros: It’s right around the corner from the house. I can get in and out in the time it takes me to find parking at Crabtree. The pricing is usually good; especially when they have their weekly double, triple and quadruple red and blue dot specials. It’s never crowded and when it gets busy they put on extra cashiers. The store is clean and orderly(bras are not located in the Men’s shoe department) and the selection is adequate. Cons: They don’t carry the latest fashions but then again I’m not known for my sartorial splendor. They have this funky home furnishings section in the back that looks like a Spencer’s Gift for College Dorms. Trying to get some floor help is impossible, they’re all on the registers. All in all I’m happy. It’s my go to store for socks and underwear.

Have to dock them a star because their clothes have been really ugly so far this year. I think the cute tops and skirts I saw last year were an anomaly. They still have some nice dresses, but it’s hard to find size small. Also, the sheet set I bought here was very poor quality, although I suppose I should have known that based on its super low price.

Good selection of home goods except staff seems to be a combination of lazy and self absorbed. I think I will shop elsewhere where I am made to feel welcomed and assisted. Very poor customer service to put it mildly.

SteinMart has mostly clothes, but some accessories and home décor as well. I usually will hit up SteinMart when they have a sale, as they can’t really compete with Kohl’s…and to some extent, Ross. When they have a sale, they have a sale — and you can score some major finds here. When my office was more business dress-like, I stocked up on business attire from SteinMart; however, my new company is less«business» and a little more Ann Taylor Loft. I’m a less frequent visitor now but I’ll stop in on occasion, depending on what I’m looking for.

Geriatric fashion at it’s finest. There was a time I used to avoid this store. The mannequins in their display window looked like they had just raided my mother in law’s closet. I guess one day they decided to feature some«home goods» merchandise instead of clothing, so it lured me to venture inside the store finally. This is definitely the store to buy your basics or modest clothing. I use the term ‘modest’ loosely. We’re not talking Michelle Duggar fashion. It’s a little Stepford Wives meets hip, trendy Grandma garb. There’s a point in your life when you’ll embrace these type of clothes in your wardrobe(you think you wont but you will). For me, it was trying to hide a postpartum pouch. Barring wearing a tent, modesty was my only option! I found a ton of cute outfits that covered me up in all the right places and were the perfect fit. I’ll admit though, some of the outfits looked less than stellar on the hanger but when tried on, they looked fantastic. I was elated and wished I had ventured into the store sooner. That said, if you’re nowhere near retirement age Stein Mart is great for finding work appropriate clothing, church outfits, and the like. The men’s clothing aisle looks like something out of a West Palm Beach country club. They have polos, striped polos, Bermudas, and more polos. During spring time I found every shade and color of Guayaberas. I thought that was cool because I happen to love this Caribbean style shirt. Other than that, not much else for your guys. Some honorable mentions are their shoe and home goods department. If you’re ever looking for pillows to match a bedroom ensemble, Stein Mart has a wide and varied selection. I scored some suede accent pillows for a sectional I had just purchased. They were 2 for $ 14.99. Never thought I’d say this but I now love shopping at Stein Mart!
