I am rating Pier 1 as a whole 3 stars. This location just because of service could possible be rated 4 stars, as they have really tried hard to accommodate us. This is what has happened to us since the end of May: Big sale marking down a certain color patio set 50% off. We were in need of a new patio set and after thinking about it, we decided to order. We are talking just under 1000 $ for patio furniture and cushions. Told our order will arrive the following week. The following week comes and nothing. I call and am told our items will arrive the week after. Meanwhile the cushions that I ordered for said furniture arrives. Week two comes and our order is in and we make arrangments to pick it up. My husband goes to pick it up and all the pieces are in… but one of the pieces is the wrong color. He takes what is correct and brings it home. We don’t open anything, as we want to set the whole thing up one time and it be complete. Now we are at week 4 and our piece in the correct color is in… we begin to unpack the boxes from the pieces we have… and the loveseat is broken. Call the store, which tells us to just use the broken piece while the order another. I say no thanks and the husband goes and returns broken piece and brings home right color piece. Two months later and we still do not have our loveseat… as while this was all going on the items were marked down even more and suddenly our loveseat is no where to be found. The store is getting the run around from their distribution and we are frustrated. Finally a manager(I think) tells us that he does not believe our piece will ever come in. He offers to take back what we have and exchange it for another color and honor the price. He also says they will pick up what we have at home and bring our new set when it arrives. He tells us this over the phone. In store we are told that an employee of the store will have to take their own vehicle to bring our new items. Guilt trip? Who knows, but I do know that they will gladly charge you 169 $ for something they call white glove service. Why after two months we can’t get that service is beyond me. As of this review I still do not have a complete patio set. If the items do not arrive next week, we are cancelling all orders and going elsewhere. *Stay tuned for any updated reviews*

I walked into the store and was immediately overwhelmed. This is a store that is jam packed with items for your home and arranged in groupings, by either design or item category. Being the bargain shopper that I am, I immediately went searching for the clearance section. This location had a small clearance section, as they markdown items in each category mugs, candles, etc. and you are supposed to rummage through the whole store looking at each category or patten, if you want to get items that are marked down with red tags. I found this unpleasant and very difficult. So when I went to check out, I had found a few items that were clearance and would use up the gift card that someone had given me, I told the male employee that I really didn’t like the set up of the store. I explained how I am a clearance shopper and this store made it awkward for me to do this. He asked what items I wanted to find on clearance, and he walked me through the store picking out the red tag items in each category. He found me some great finds that I had missed. So the three stars really go for his exceptional customer service, friendliness, and help in navigating this store. Pier 1 I think you need to make your store more user friendly, or bargain shoppers like myself will not be returning.

Pier 1 is one of those places that I would use to decorate my entire place, if only I could afford it. Their smells ‘n’ scents of candles and potpourri are hit or miss(they discontinued my fave, Biscotti). I usually will check out their candle décor and the clearance rack, while checking out the other items for ideas. The employees at this location are super nice. On an upside, their typical after-Christmas sales are great for picking up items for birthday gifts, etc. later in the year. THAT sale I always hit!
