Specialties
Rooted in the traditional flavors of the Carolina mountains, the menu at PG Werth’s is equal parts old-school comfort and new-school technique. Fresh. Local. Delicious.
History
Established in 2015.
P. G Werth’s is a true labor of love for its founder, Chef Hamm. Cooking since he was tall enough to reach the stove, Chef Hamm’s lifelong passion for good food was cemented through a wonderful relationship with Patricia Guy Werth, his high school culinary arts teacher. Chef Hamm credits her encouragement and careful guidance for the trajectory of his life, and P.G. Werth’s is his homage to her influence.
Meet the Manager
Christopher E.
Manager
Since he was a kid, Chris imagined himself behind the line of a busy kitchen doing what he strived to do best; make people smile using simple, locally grown ingredients to make delicious meals. Unfortunately, by the time he graduated from school, the country was at war, and he put his dream aside to fight for what he believed in. In 2005 he enlisted into the Army and after 9 years and seeing combat on 3 war fronts, he retired and took up an apprenticeship under Chef Hamm. After careful study and a new appreciation for farm-to-table service, Chris came on as Sous Chef and manager for Chef Hamm’s Cary restaurant, named after his already flourishing Sanford location, Café 121. In 2015, Chef Hamm started his newest venture with P.G. Werth’s. Chris, believing in Chef Hamm’s vision to perfect classic southern cuisine into a modern, aesthetic atmosphere, combines his leadership skills and his knowledge of kitchen /cuisine /customer service as Operations Manager for Chef Hamm Inc.
