Java Auto Sale

I wish buying a car could always be as upfront and easy as this. I researched cars on USAA’s site, found the car I was looking for (the price was significantly below «Great Price). The owner and I reviewed the carfax reports, I test drove it (he gave me money for gas) and got it checked out. He even washed it for me. It was a great experience and I highly recommend these guys.

We identified a car online that was the model we were interested in and within our budget being sold by Java Auto, so we headed over there. The first two gentlemen we dealt with were helpful and friendly. We asked if we could take the car to our mechanic if we liked it on the test drive and after some discussion about the amount of time we were allowed (2 hours), we were on our way. We didn’t notice anything specifically concerning on the drive, so we took it to our mechanic (who IS within their 15 mile radius rule). He had it for 10 minutes and came back in and said not to buy it, it was covered in rust on the underneath (car was originally from MA) and also had issues starting up (when we took it for the drive, the gentleman at Java brought it round for us after adding gas, so we didn’t actually get a chance to start it ourselves). We shoot the shit for a while with the mechanic about car options in our search. None of this is why they get one star — buyer beware and all that. We drove some other crappy cars that day and I’m not giving those places a poor review. No, the reason for this review comes next.
So, we take the car back, with 30 minutes to spare on our time limit (We had til 4:15, returned at 3:45). We went in to drop off the keys and were met by a third person we haven’t seen before, a tall younger guy with a strong brow ridge — stay away from this guy! We give him the keys and say that our mechanic gave it a no-​go due to rust, but thanks for letting us see it. He became belligerently rude with me, stating that we «owed him a reason, we took his $ 12,000 car for two hours and he deserves to know why we didn’t want it, that we seemed like we were just trying to drop off the keys and run off and he didn’t appreciate that.» I told him again that our mechanic said no and thats why we didn’t want it. He then repeats the same thing over again, rudely, adding that he wanted to know what the mechanic said was wrong with it, that we owe him that. At first we were just shocked and confused about his manner, but at this point I was getting angry. My WTF voice started creeping in and I said «I TOLD you why, our mechanic said the underside is covered in rust…» Then the guy starts in AGAIN with the same thing! I was about to lose it with this guy when my husband stepped in saying, «Listen man, we’re not interested, we told you why, and that’s it.» Then the guy dropped it. Sexist.
Did this guy seriously think that being a dick would help him sell a car? Well, rude car guy, it won’t. It WILL get you a bad review on Unilocal though.
Don’t go here. As far as my sample goes, a third of their employees are dicks.

They sell used cars.

The guys at Java were really helpful, and made a good deal without a lot of haggling back and forth. There was no pressure to buy a vehicle, or to purchase expensive (and unnecessary) add-​ons afterwards.
Best of all, the products they sell are solid. We bought a truck from them, and it was rated highly by a mechanic who looked over it, and said that it had been well cared for and that there weren’t any hidden flaws.
They make the Carfax for vehicles on their lot readily available, and on their website you can find the VIN number if you want to take a look at Autocheck (like Carfax but more complete) before you go down.
All in all, I would give my experience with Java a 10 of 10.
