Auto Way

I only wish I could have these guys where I live. Worked temporarily in Raleigh for 3 years and Auto Way was just the closest. They ended up being the best I’ve ever known and I will sorely miss them. Great service, very friendly, sincerely honest, and good pricing. Value one just doesn’t find in auto repair. Not much to look at and you’ve got to search for them, but it WILL be worth it.

These guys are great! After a year they remembered who I was. They’re extremely honest and great at what they do. They tell it how it is and give you options, and can cater to your budget (if possible). Even as a female I feel respected, and they don’t try and rip me off. They’re also very timely. Do not be alarmed the area appears a bit sketchy, but these are wonderful guys!

My husband and I used to live right around the corner from Auto Way before moving a few months back. My husband used to use them for oil changes every now and again and for fixing a few minor issues here and there. However, my husband’s car recently began overheating on his way to work. When he got to work, he thought he had a crack in his radiator and needed a new one. A coworker who likes to work on cars took a look at his car during lunch break and said the same thing. He called a few of our usual repair shops to get prices and got quoted an average of $ 350. He decided to take a risk with Auto Way, and we’re so glad he did. They charged a very reasonable price of $ 200 and had his car repaired in a few hours.
Coincidentally my car had been due for scheduled maintenance a week or two prior and I had called tons of shops to compare prices for a new timing belt. I was told at almost every shop that I should replace the water pump at the same time, and quoted an average of $ 650-​$ 850 between 4 shops. I picked a shop that ended up charging $ 700 and had the work done there. When my husband went to pick his car after the radiator was replaced at Auto Way, he asked what the cost for a new timing belt for my car would be. They also told him it was advisable to replace the water pump, and quoted him $ 500.
This place is NOT fancy. It’s a hole in the wall place off a side road and seems a bit sketchy. There’s even a few chickens hanging around the lot. But these guys seem like honest folks who charge a fair price and do things right. We’ll be bringing our cars there for all maintenance and repairs from now on. I’ll update this review if my opinion ever changes (it has before with auto mechanic shops), but I have high hopes for a lasting relationship with Auto Way.

When I was gone on military duty, my wife began taking her car to Auto Way. She told me how the gentleman there explained things to her in detail, so she understood what she was paying for.
She trusted them, so I took our car there again. I have to say, these guys always do awesome work for a great price.
They always try to find a good deal on parts so I pay less. Their prices are awesome, and so is the service.
So far, we’ve been to them about 5 times, and all of their work and parts have held up great. At this point, I’d be hesitant to take my vehicle anywhere else for anything. Bottom line, these guys are the best I’ve found in the ten years I’ve been in Raleigh.
