Thank YOU Unilocal reviewers, this place didn’t disappoint. Fun, open, laid back & super friendly. Two big TVs, lots of areas to lounge. Food truck, ping pong, video games and GROWLER fills. Best selection of local beer, and amazing selection of the best from everywhere inching the west coast! Kid friendly too!

Love the staff of house of hops!!! Gabby is the best. She came to check on us because we are such frequent visitors here and she refilled our beer. Thanks house of hops for being our neighborhood bar.

This is the kind of place that I’m excited that they exist and there’s really nothing they could do to mess this up. Huge beer selection and really knowledgeable/​friendly staff to help you pick out a few new things to try. Can really make a night out of it when they have a food truck.

Like beer? Know the nuances like a pro? Just like beer in general? Here’s the perfect place for you! Comfortable if you’re with a group or a single looking for a couple of cold ones. Friendly, attentive bar staff and owner, and easy-​going clientele. Some even bring their (well behaved) dogs. Love this place. Definitely a must.

Great little spot for some craft beer shopping and drinking. Can grab a beer straight out of the cooler and drink it which is awesome. Lots of great beers to choose from as well.

We’ve been here many a time for Thursday night trivia, and for several casual weekend evenings enjoying brews and conversation. I really adore the beer selections here, and they are purveyors of fine craft offerings. The staff are of the jovial sort, and the food trucks they book are quite splendid. Highly recommended. :)

This is a cool spot in a funky industrial park location. We were visiting from California, and I was thirsty. They have a great selection of beer on tap. They also likely have a bottle of every other beer in the world for sale in the coolers and on shelves. The outdoor area was pretty cool and the inside seating warm and comfortable. The owners are super friendly, and so are the patrons. A girl seated at the bar offered me a sip of her beer when I asked the bartender’s opinion of it. Now, that’s Southern hospitality!

Decided to give this place a try since we were out and about around the area recently. Walked in and was warmly greeted, ordered a beer off of the digital list that was provided and found a table to sit at. This place definitely offered a great beer selection.
The only thing that I did not like was the fact that they charged an extra $ 1 if you opted for a bottle versus draft beer. And, that Boyfriend kicked my butt in Connect Four and Checkers but that is outside of the review.
Overall, friendly staff, chill spot and a great place to get a delicious six pack mixer at a good price.
FYI, they have ping pong in the back!

This was another of many great beer destinations on our 3 day business trip to Raleigh. I’m glad we stopped in. They have a nice draft selection as well as a HUGE selection of craft beers! We decided to have a flight to start and left it in the hands of the bartender to choose. I was beyond happy. North Carolina has some amazing beer. I can’t wait to come back and have another go round! You should too. ENJOY!!!

This place is a beer haven. They sell an immense variety of bottles you can make into six packs, plus growlers. The bar is pouring a bevy of great drafts. In addition to the beer, they’ve got corn hole, table tennis, and darts. The best part: the friendly owners who introduced themselves and made our afternoon there special. Will be back.

I was looking for a relaxing place to have a beer and saw this on Unilocal.My wife and I went on a weekday and it was surprisingly busy. It took a little while to order a beer but it gave us time to decide what to order. After we got our beer (some kind of IPA), we went to the back of the place and found a ping pong table and some other games. We also wandered around the shop to look at the extensive selection of beers. I selected four different types of Green Man to bring home.
Overall, we enjoyed the place. It was pretty chill, which was we were looking for, and they have a great selection of beer. The ping pong table, darts and cornhole in the back is a plus. It looks like they have different food buses come out so you can get some food also.

I absolutely love this place! I live in walking distance and come rather often. Usually always bring my dog as well and they have water bowls and treats readily available too which is a nice touch.
The amazing selection of beers is just part of what makes this place great. The relaxed feel, great people, good music and fun games outside (ping pong table, dart board, corn hole) are equally awesome.
The bartenders and owners make you feel right at home, they talk and get to know you and always make a point to call you by name.
I will be frequenting this place quite often this Summer, as I just moved into a complex in walking distance back in January. Now that weather is nicer I’ll be here much more often!

The most welcomed I’ve ever felt in a business. I immediately felt comfortable and was welcomed by name and he shook our hands and told us about the beer menu and asked if it was our first time here. It is. We live across the street but finally checked this place out. Food truck outside, spacious and comfortable seating. You won’t regret coming here for some good beer.

I really like this bar! The space is super functional, almost utilitarian, but cosy at the same time. I love the gazebo, outdoor games, and dog-​friendliness and can tell it will be a great spot to hang out during the summer.
There is a great selection of bottles, both chilled (for drinking right away) or for taking home with you. I also like that they have more taps– 24, to be exact– than a lot of craft/​bottle shops of their size. They’re all reasonably priced as well.
We stopped in on Valentine’s Day and the bartenders were handing out roses to the female customers. Nice touch.
The only warning I would give is that they sell small snacks (think bag of chips), they do NOT have a kitchen or hearty food available. So if you’re hungry stop and get a bite to eat on your way!

This place is officially my new favorite hang out! I tried to go on a Friday night, and it was so packed I decided to try it out late Saturday afternoon instead (which was still pretty busy). I definitely see what all the hype is about. Great ambiance, friendly staff and top notch beer. The vibe is very laid back with lots of seating inside and at the bar. It’s dog friendly too which adds to the fun atmosphere of this place! I took them up on the free growler offer for checking in on Unilocal (free growler but you of course pay for the beer), and got to enjoy more delicious beer when I got home! Definitely recommend this place!

House of Hops is a really awesome spot! I’ve been here a handful of times now. A dozen local brews on top. Walls and walls of coolers with bottles, cans, and growlers of beer. For those who must have wine, they have wine available too.
I wonder if eventually they will begin brewing their own beer. They’re doing just fine with great local brews on top and plenty to choose from all around. The service is always really awesome too. Last night, as usual, Jesse was behind the bar.
No food in this bottle shop, but you can bring it in or, like last night, you can enjoy a food truck out in the parking lot. Authentic Korean plus some delicious wheat beers. Heaven in a House of Hops. Sadly, I don’t remember which beers I had although the second one I had as a good one from Gizmo. If you need to spin through the Rolodex there’s a little plastic case with note-​cards and descriptions of the beers to choose from. Or, like me, you just ask Jesse for a suggestion based upon others I like and boom. There’s something good!
There are some games in the shop or you can bring some of those in as well. Alternatively, in the back room there’s some ping pong and darts. Beyond that, there’s a nice little patio where you can hang out, chat, take a smoke break, like some were.
House of Hops is in the back of a little parking lot and attached to a mattress shop. Surprising spot for such a gem, but definitely worth exploring over near where Duraleigh turns into Millbrook Road intersecting with Glenwood Avenue. Go find a low-​key haven at House of Hops.
Tip: Check in on your Unilocal app and get 1 free 32oz or 64oz Growler (empty).

Definitely digging this bottle shop. A little tricky to fine but once you do you’ll walk into a large space surrounded by bottled beer, a large bar with 24 beers on draft, dogs, friendly people and more.
I stopped in tonight for their Wednesday run group, yeah that’s right I picked the coldest night ever to join a run group haha, but it was worth it. Thanks to Jean K for the invite I throughly enjoyed meeting all the friendly folks involved in the run group and the chance to check out House of Hops.
The guy behind the bar was very friendly and you can check out their rolladeck of beer they have on tap, which changes all the time. Anything you are looking for I’m sure these guys can find it for you. They also had a food truck outside serving up some tasty Korean food tonight, BO’s kitchen. Like them on Facebook and you can find out when food trucks will be there etc.
This place is so close to home it may just be my new hangout. Cool people, good beer, and dog friendly what else can you ask for?

With all of the bottle shops that are around now, I wasn’t sure how I would feel about House of Hops. Luckily, I love it! I think there is enough room for lots of good beer stores in the Raleigh/​Durham area.
My family likes to meet up here after work a couple of times a month for beers. All of the people that work here are extremely nice and friendly. We felt very welcome here from the first visit. The people are a big reason why we keep going back!
They have a large selection of beers on draft and plenty of variety to choose from. The prices are right in line with the other bottle shops in the area. They also have a nice bar with a few tables and some couches. There is plenty of space to walk around; it is a nice, open store. We have not actually purchased bottles of beers here, but they have a pretty good selections of bottles available. They sell the bottles individually here so you can make your own six pack.
They are also dog friendly inside, and they have some picnic tables outside where you can relax too. Many nights of the weeks they have food trucks outside, so this is a great spot to grab dinner and a beer.
I definitely recommend visiting House of Hops!

I met a couple of running buddies at HOH for a run and stopped in afterwards to check the place out. I should preface this by saying I’m *not* a beer drinker. However, when in Rome… look for gluten free!
First of all, they get 5 stars for providing free bottled water to running group members. The running group is free also, other than the small price you pay for looking like a hot sweaty mess in public. You can replace some of the calories burned during your run with $ 2 off draft beer afterwards.
Next, they get 5 stars for a super relaxing and welcoming environment. It’s dog friendly and I loved seeing people bring their furry friends in to relax on the comfy couches. It looks like a warehouse with shelves filled with bottles of beer and cider. There is also a cooler where you can grab cold bottles. My gluten free friend brilliantly decided to transfer her favorite GF brew from the shelf to the cooler so it would be chilled after the run. Apparently, she has low standards for taste but she’s intelligent.
Another 5 stars for a selection, albeit small, of gluten free options. On a whim, I did try a gluten free flight from a place in NY a few months back. The flight was more like a voyage with a *huge* sampling (pretty sure I was drunk before I could finish the flight), but I only found a few that I really liked. And, I really tried. At HOH, my friend recommended an Omission gluten-​free lager which I actually found delightful. Okay, so her taste standards may not be that low after all.
There’s also a food truck parked outside if you want a bite to eat.
Free running group, dog friendly, gluten free options…5 stars all around.

So there I was, on my bike, cruising down Glenwood Ave (I lied, there was no cruising because it was 6pm and huge traffic jam,) when I looked up and saw a sign with giant hop flower on it. I actually didn’t read what was on that sign, but I knew it’s a drinking place. I know my hop flower.
So I decided to take a turn and head inside, one to get out of hot sun, and two, It was Hump Day, it was past Beer o’clock, it was time to drink. It certainly beats sitting in traffic, both my bike and myself melting away.
I should preface this review by saying I’m a big drinker; not that I’m physically big, nor can I put down two pitcher back to back. I have been to many breweries and bottle shops and craft beer waterholes.
First thing I look for is selection and variety. HoH carry a good deal of bottles both on the shelf and in single bottles in the cooler fridge waiting to be drank, plus, HoH offer growlers in regular size and OMG-​I-​CANNOT-​BELIEVE-​ITS-​ONLY-​WEDNESDAY size. it might seem like they don’t offer enough, but that’s because the size of this place. I can see them expanding those beer shelves in the near future.
Speaking of size, that was my first impression, and a very positive one. The owners took over what used to be a community church, and make a better use of it! (Hey! I’m a godless heathen so I can make fun of it!) Big space in the taproom, ping pong table out back, and a gazebo right up front. This place definitely has potential. I’m looking forward to when they starting to host tasting nights or brewery tap takeovers.
The owners and manager of the place are nice folks. Any other place I probably get a head nod from behind the bar and a hearty hello, but here I walked through the door the first time ever and someone walked right up to me, she then shook my hand, introduced herself, and then welcomed me. Every time they tap a keg, they would pour some through the system and passed it around the room for a tasting. How cool is that?
Right before I left, I even got a soft pat on the shoulder and a warm concern, «Are you safe, on the bike? It’s the mother in me. I have to ask.» Now, is that not a full service establishment? I am definitely looking forward to them kicking operation into high gears.
