I have a long history of dentists, dozens of cavities, wisdom teeth, and a root canal. I switched to Dr. Hanson after getting married (for insurance reasons). Although I have just had routine cleanings and some composite fillings done by him, he seems honest. He’s friendly and works quickly.
What impressed me the most was his staff. There is a dental hygenist there named Naoma (Neoma?). She is so thorough at cleaning your teeth.
She is the reason why Dr. Hanson gets 5 stars.
I wasn’t a diligent flosser (i.e. I flossed less than I visited the dentist) until Naoma taught me the principles behind flossing. Nothing seemed to be able to motivate me to floss, even a horrible root canal didn’t change my flossing habits. Fankly, I was just too lazy. She explained that you just need to floss once a day and that it can be at any time during the day. You floss because it breaks down the film that forms within a 24 hour period on your teeth. You can floss and eat right after. The important part is to do it every day. After learning that, I began flossing once every day, and I haven’t had a single cavity since (It’s been over 3 years since her pep talk). I always had at least 1 cavity every dentist appointment before I began to floss.
Thanks Naoma for changing life for my teeth and saving me thousands of dollars in a lifetime.
If you are a bad flosser like I was, then switch dentists to get Naoma’s pep talk. You’ll save a fortune.
