Somerset House Inn

My husband and I were in town for a weekend wedding and wanted to extend our stay and visit P-​Town. On a recommendation from good friends, we booked at the Somerset Inn. Very glad I did! Bob is an amazing host and the staff are always looking to ensure your needs are met. I inadvertently mixed up dates with another wedding, however, Bob took that in stride and updated and booked us in for this past weekend. Breakfast was great as well as the evening social hour where they serve local wines from Truro. It was great to meet/​greet other guests and get some insight on good places to visit/​eat.
We are definitely going back! In the heart of downtown, everything in walking distance.

This has officially turned into my go-​to place when visiting Provincetown. We were in a group and took over 3 rooms, and all of us felt the same way about our experience.
The location is perfect. Right on the strip and close to a lot of the activity but far enough removed to remain quiet.
Bob is an absolute gem. We checked in an were invited down for a wine/​beer hour between 5 – 6. There were some cheese/​crackers set out, and glasses ready for us. It was a nice introduction to a great weekend.
Breakfasts were amazing. Each day was a little different. A nice light spread that hit the spot for relaxing days in Provincetown.
Rooms were cleaned daily at some point, with no intrusion to our group. All 6 of us were in and out during various times but somehow everything stayed perfect for us.
We will be back, sooner rather than later, thanks to Bob and having such a great experience while we were there.

This is my second year staying at the Somerset and I love this place. Stayed here last year for the first time on the recommendation of friends that stay here regularly
First, Bob and Dan are wonderful hosts. Bob is usually the one that is accessible for questions or just to chat with. Lots of quaint, clean and unique rooms to choose from — many have fireplaces, mini refrigerators, jacuzzi tubs… etc. The location is absolutely fantastic — on the east side of Commercial Street (right across from Scoops ice cream and Wired Puppy Coffee).
Breakfast is always delicious with a great daily change of hot selections. There’s always yogurt, hard boiled eggs and a variety of cereals as well. Coffee is good, too!
Wifi in the room works great! I didn’t have to log in again this year… my devices remembered. :)
During October, the décor is lots of fun — they have awesome Halloween decorations. People are constantly walking by and taking pictures.
Highly recommend Somerset House Inn for any stay in P-​town!

I’ve stayed here three years in a row, and I look forward to going back in 2016. The location is right on Commercial Street, so easy access to lots of great shops and restaurants, and the inn itself is beautiful and immaculately maintained. The rooms are lovely with lots of creature comforts in mind, but each unique — so you can have a slightly different experience each year. The breakfasts are AMAZING, and there’s also a wine happy hour (at least during August) where you can hang out with your friends and meet some of the other guests. Speaking of, each year I’ve met some wonderful people from around the country — the inn seems to attract a friendly, laid-​back crowd.

I’ve been coming to Ptown for the Tennessee Williams Theater Festival for three years, and The Somerset House Inn is absolutely my favorite place I’ve stayed so far.
The house itself is lovely with wonderfully eclectic rooms, and Bob and Dan are simply delightful. There’s free wifi – legitimately free, no strings attached wifi – and since Ptown banned plastic bags (go Ptown!), the Inn provides you with a reusable bag in case you want to shop. And yes, there’s a fridge so you can store some groceries! Not that you need to – Dan & Bob serve a delicious home-​cooked breakfast daily plus they put out muffins, fruits, hard boiled eggs, etc. They even have a DVD menu on offer including greats like All About Eve and Hairspray (John Waters, of course!), complete with Dan & Bob’s 1-​line review/​summaries.
I live in New York, a city which is supposed to be known for bursting at the seams with amazing quirky places; well, it ain’t true any more, but the Somerset House Inn gave me the touch of realness paired with professional amenities that I have begun to miss in NYC

Lovely! The room (#2) was spacious. Nice décor; clean. Bob the owner was very hospitable and helpful with local recommendations. Hot breakfast every morning. Happy hour was FUN to meet other guests. They loan out beach towels and umbrellas. I liked that the décor was a bit more contemporary than some older/​Victorian B&B’s. We would definitely stay here again!

Very clean. Very cute and the hosts were awesome, knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions about the area. Breakfast was unique each day — usually an egg dish with a scone or muffin. No complaints and I would definitely recommend!

This was my fourth or fifth stay at the Somerset House Inn. Bob and Dan the innkeepers really make you feel at home. The rooms are comfortable and the location in town is fantastic. A different home cooked breakfast and baked goodie every morning. In the evening there is a happy hour featuring local wines. Its fun to chat with the other guests each morning in the living room /​breakfast area or enjoy the view from the deck. I always find this place reasonably priced and a great home away from home.

We visited late Winter, on a house hunting trip. This was a last minute reservation. It was the best part of the experience. Our host was friendly, knowledgable and engaged as needed. The rooms where comfortable, well appointed, and provided a pleasant night sleep. The morning breakfast was delicious and a great beginning to a new day and end of a trip. Keep up the good work!

This is the perfect B&B for a short stay if you’re headed to Provincetown. The location is right in the middle of Commercial street if you want to be within walking distance to all the restaurants and watering holes.
Bob and Dan are great hosts and Bob serves a delicious breakfast every morning with one hot dish and one special baked pastry/​desert. We sampled the pankcakes, waffles and coffee cake during our stay and everything was super yummy.
The rooms are really, really clean which is a huge concern for me and they also provide free parking a few blocks away (a 6 minute walk).
The only thing I would avoid next time during my stay here would be a first floor room. It got a little noisy during the night, but I wasn’t too bothered after the 1^st night. Just a heads up, while you’re booking.
Also, they have L’Occitane products in the guest rooms… which was a great surprise!
Free Wi-​Fi. Couldn’t be happier.

After committing to each other for 35 years, my partner, Mark and I got married in NYC on 10÷9÷13, on our «35^th anniversary» and wanted to do something special for our «marriage». We booked the Somerset House Inn for 3 nights. Neither of us had ever been to Provincetown. When we arrived, Bob, our gracious host showed us to our room. Our room was #8 on the ground floor with a king sized bed, sunroom, and TV in both the sunroom and the bedroom. The room was GORGEOUS and the refrigerator was stocked with complementary soda and water. During my stay I met the new Golden puppy who Bob, I believe, called Bud but who another staff member introduced to me as «Bijou». «B» was friendly but a little shy. As for the Inn… Location, Location, Location! Somerset House is on the corner of Pearl Street and Commercial Street, near the border between the Central and East sections of P– Town. Our room was spacious with an extremely comfortable King Coil King Sized Mattress. Bob was a first rate host making an incredible hot breakfast item to accompany the other breakfast choices each morning. We were too busy to enjoy the afternoon happy hour on the deck between 5 and 6. However, I can’t imagine us having a better time anywhere else. The only issue was the bathroom door that had «settled» and didn’t close fully. We mentioned it to Bob upon leaving and we are sure he will correct the issue in the upcoming months. The Inn provides a reserved parking space adjacent to the Inn or a block away, something that isn’t available to guests of most other Centrally located Bed and Breakfasts. We loved Provincetown and loved Somerset House Inn. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Dirty, stained sheets, with no room amenities and horrible service. When I mentioned that there was no toilet tissue, none arrived so I purchased from the local store. Never again. I was told it was a busy weekend so I guess I should return when it’s not busy. Ummm. NO.

Beautiful space in great location with hospitable hosts who can offer you vast DVD collection while making you an amazing made-​from-​scratch breakfast. What’s not to love?

I don’t know why this place only has a handful of reviews as of this posting but people need to know about this gem of an inn in the center of Provincetown.
I stayed here for two nights with my boyfriend in the off-​season and would definitely recommend it for savvy travellers. Their off-​season prices are very reasonable and their location really can’t be beat. The ocean is visible from the porch where we spent happy hour relaxing in the small garden and sipping delicious wine from Truro Vineyards. Happy hour and breakfast are included in your stay and we enjoyed both immensely. Our room was the one with the separate bathroom down the hall but that was not a problem for us. Lots of rainy day activities, like board games and cards, filled the lounge area although we had no real use for those during our stay. The décor was welcoming and very comfortable. Our room even came with a mini-​fridge stocked with soda and water for our trip. They do have some private parking spots on a side road which was convenient but there is road parking as well. After our stay, I received a handwritten thank you card in the mail and I felt that was a nice added touch to our very enjoyable stay.

We just returned home from a wonderful weekend stay here. A large group of our friends joined us and the fun never ended. I really can’t say enough good things. The attention to service was beyond any expectations I could have had. The owners and manager bent over backwards to make everyone’s stay perfect. Happy hour was communal and vibrant with wine and delicious snacks. Breakfast was so good and homemade: muffins, egg dishes, toastie treats, an abundance of coffee and juice. The rooms are so cozy and comfortable. It really was like staying in someone’s home. We will DEFINITELY be back as a couple and as a group. Thank you again for such a relaxing and wonderful stay.

I look forward to my annual visit all year and dread when I have to say good-​bye to the owners, staff and the most well behaved Golden Retriever (Brody). I recently returned from my 3^rd Labor Day visit to Somerset House. Great Commercial Street location, away from the crowds but a quick walk to everything.
This place should be called a «Bed and Breakfast and Beverage». I love the daily happy hour. Breakfast on the front porch in the summer is great and the living room is a perfect spot when the weather is not cooperating.
Cozy rooms, comfortable beds, great showers, free WiFi, fantastic breakfast among other great amenities make for a superb visit no matter what time of the year. This place feels like home.

Somerset House is the best B&B on the cape! The owners, Bob and Dan, are fantastic. They truly care about making each guest’s experience comfortable and fun.
Somerset has a cocktail hour every afternoon in their spacious and well-​lit communal space downstairs. It is a great opportunity to meet other guests and enjoy some local wine. They also have games, books, and movies available for guest use.
The rooms are comfortable and each has a different theme/​decorating scheme. The room we stayed in had a fireplace and big flat-​screen TV.
Breakfast is the best part of the stay. Bob makes something different each morning. Our favorite breakfast of the trip was his famous carmel french toast — mmm!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Somerset House Inn for some much needed R&R. We immediately feel in love with the place. Bob and Dan are great hosts; we felt right at home. The staff is friendly and are very accommodating.
Breakfast is amazing; we’d rather eat here than any other restaurant on Commercial St. Definitely request the stuffed french toast and Bob-​uffins!
It’s perfectly situated in the heart of P-​town, making it convenient to the shops and restaurants. Their deck makes a nice place to people watch, especially during the cocktail hour they host in the afternoon.
We loved our stay so much we’re planning to make this an annual trip.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Somerset during early October and loved it. Really warm owners, stylish and comfortable rooms, and awesome attention to details (complimentary drinks in the fridge, free drinks for happy hour, and mixed hot and continental breakfast in the morning). Add the goodies to its perfect location and you have a really nice inn — especially for the relatively reasonable price.

The breakfast… fantastic with a different homemade special each morning. They also provided cereal options, muffins, coffee and juice.
Room… Our room was a good size and everything was clean. Each of the rooms and the staff was very helpful. Overall very comfortable.
Location, location, location… The Somerset House is on a nice block of Commercial Street near everything. We were steps away from art galleries, a coffee shop, and countless retail options. In addition, just outside front door is access to the harbor. From the front room and the the outside deck you can see the harbor. These noting like watching the boats while eating breakfast!
