Cape Colony Inn

Here’s the deal, the rooms are fine, might need an upgrade but in my opinion or okay. I came here for my bachelor party and was mortified by the horrible service they gave my group of friends. We were a crowd of about 15 and all potential rent again customers but they killed that with their service. They treated our group like we were a bunch of rampaging college kids, (we are all in our late twenties, most married with kids, not really the raging type). During breakfast they called out our group telling us we needed to check out at 11am. Mind you there were other people in breakfast who were not reminded, and the time was only 9:30. Why did you need to call our group out at breakfast? Also, parking is a pain, they have rooms that can easily accommodate 6 people, but only give one parking pass per room. So you have to go find street parking or pay to park in a lot. Mind you this was off peak season. They also promised the group a certain check in time, which they proceeded to change the day of. Screwing up everyone’s schedules. I also thought a two night minimum purchase at the beginning of October, 25 minutes from the center of Ptown was a little ridiculous. The building itself is fine, just not the most accommodating business in my opinion.

this is a nice hotel overall, even though the rooms a slightly bit pricey for the end of the season.
the room is clean but a bit cramped (over the office). there is a fridge, microwave, a/​c and other minor amenities. the room had a slight musty smell but nothing too bad. The worst part is if you sleep in. You will get a «magic fingers bed» experience — they start cleaning the towels and sheets and the machine vibration shakes the entire building and room for a good 10 – 15 minutes (multiple times).
the hot water is hot without being scolding. the pool is a decent temperature (probably 65) and there are plenty of towels available. The morning breakfast is decent for the area but the hours are a bit limiting and they are strict about their end time. I did stay 2 nights.

I’ll begin with: I am so glad I finally found a room. The room was clean and had the usual refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. That said, the bed took up most of the room. I put my suitcase on half of the bed, as well as my camera gear and slept on the other half. No, my husband wasn’t with me! I sat on the floor to use my laptop. For families, this is probably a really fun place. There is a large pool, a very large BBQ area, and a firepit. Parking was packed, and I had to haul my suitcase up the stairs.

At first after seeing the room I would think to rank this one star but when you take it all into consideration it’s really a good value and the other amenities work in their favor. It’s family friendly and the front desk was incredibly nice and welcoming. The grounds are clean and the pool area was nice. The rooms could use a makeover but maybe other motels in the area might be similar. Bathroom is very small but the bed was good. The location is a mile out from the center of Provincetown. The shuttle makes it easy and a bike ride is doable too. The continental breakfast was filling. All in all this is good value to be outside of. Provincetown. If you can spend it I would suggest to get something in town so you can enjoy the true convenience of being in a walking town.

We decided very late to stay the night in Cape Cod and this was one of the only places with availability that was either under several hundred dollars a night or that allowed children.
Yes, we looked at several properties that would not allow anyone under 18 at the property which we found very puzzling.
The room was basic but just redone and it was clean and had a mini fridge. The rate was $ 99 as it was late and it included a Continental breakfast with a very polite staff.
Parking and wifi was also included, though very patchy wireless.
A good value and friendly staff would make this property a consideration in the future, as well as, it’s convenient location in Provincetown.

This place is perfect for a weekend stay in provincetown — far enough away from the hustle and bustle of town to be nice and quiet but close enough to walk or drive if you prefer. Awesome pool area, grill, fire pit, continental breakfast, and AWESOME friendly helpful staff. Go here :)

I stayed here years ago prior to the renovation and it was 1star for sure! I saw that it had been renovated, took another chance and I’m glad I did! It really has everything anyone needs. For the price? I don’t think there’s any other accommodations that have everything they have to offer with the price. There are beautiful places all over town, but you will pay for it!
Front office serves continental breakfast. Belgian waffles, toast, bagels, Donets, fruit, juice, coffee, Danishes and it’s free.
I booked a king and wasn’t disappointed. The bed was very comfortable, flat screen TV with Direct TV (directions on how to work it might be helpful) small fridge with freezer, microwave, coffee maker. Nice linens. The furniture in the room is still the old stuff, but the bed is new. New lighting, paint, curtains. Each room has original canvas prints from PTown.
Bathroom is small… But it is the toilet shower area that is. Full tub and bath. Separate sink and closet area with granite counter. It all works well.
The pool area has also been upgrade. A new firepit with Adirondack seating is a nice touch and shuffle board. Grills in back with a volleyball area. Wherever I went, I noticed it was spotless. Very clean and well maintained !
I spoke with the GM briefly on my arrival and he had a bit of an attitude which I thought was pretty unnecessary. But I think he just needs to learn how to switch from business mode to customer service mode.
Overall, regardless of my interaction with the GM, all other staff were polite and friendly. The rooms are great and the property is very clean. I will stay here again and continue to smile at the GM hoping one day he just might smile back!

We were a little worried from the bad reviews, but if you look back, most are older. We were very happy with our room. We got one a suite. It was clean, comfortable, had everything we needed. Staff was really good, even opened the door for me at breakfast.
They lend out beach chairs and beach wheelies if you need them. Lots of outdoor seating and games.
They said it’s in walking distance to the center. You can also take the trolley over, it stops right there all day.
Actually slept really well there, which I normally don’t anywhere we go. Allergies didn’t bother us which often do when we go away too. It was quiet.

Since my original review it looks like this place has been renovated and relaunched! I’m glad they seem to have recognized many of the original issues — I’m looking forward to giving it another shot soon.

Stayed here for a weekend. Noise level was low, rooms were clean good location if you enjoy a little walk to the town. Parking was nice because you were able to get a spot almost right in front of your door. Staff was very nice but almost overly in your face. They patrolled the continental breakfast to the point that it was almost uncomfortable, I know how to toast my own bagel without burning myself. Other than that, no complaints!

About a mile out of town, just a block from Commercial. If you don’t like to walk (I do!) or you dont have a bike (I rented) and you want to get into the center of things regularly, this may not be the place for you.
Personally, I like being out on the quieter end of things and choosing when to get into the chaos, so the location and amenities were perfect.
Definitely a very mixed crowd between the gays, the Canadians/​Europeans, the Midwestern families and a smattering of straight couples, but the recent remodel of the rooms and the public areas is tremendous. Everything feels fresh and clean with the expected «beach-​y» theme.
Continental Breakfast in included and is carbo-​licious. If you don’t care for waffles, pastries, cereals, etc, there are hard boiled eggs, yogurt and whole fruit. Coffee is acceptable (consider packing your own mug) and there are also Keurig Machines in each room (bring a couple extra K Cups).
The pool is small, but nice. No glass on deck, so, again, consider packing an adult-​sized tumbler and avail yourself of the ice machine for any bevvies you might choose to enjoy poolside.
This property was, obviously, once an old-​school roadside motel that has been fabulously re-​done and updated. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional during our stay;however, don’t expect many special favors like late check-​out during high season. With the demand, its simply not possible. Don’t take it personally (as I observed one cranky NYC guest doing)

Recently stayed here with a couple of friends (we made reservations with ease) From the beginning of our mini get-​away all the way to check out; we had a blast. The staff here is so accommodating even during their busiest season. Cleanliness is impeccable as I am always conscious about the environment. Recently renovated and free wifi! Ideal location, yummy breakfast, and superb staff. Steve, as I recall, was one of the friendliest on the team. Thank you for your hospitality Cape Colony Inn! Can’t wait to come back next year.

It was my first time in P-​Town and we stayed at the Cape Colony Inn. The establishment was recently renovated. Our room was located on the second floor. It was clean, quiet, and had very decent space. Internet was free and was wickedly fast! The front desk and other attendants were very friendly and helpful in suggesting places where to eat and how to get to the beach. The swimming pool was clean and heated. Hotel price is very reasonable. Although located less than a mile from the busy «commercial» area and somewhat far from Herring Cove Beach, it still is a nice place to consider if you want accommodations away from the busy crowd.

Good location. One street to downtown and very close to the beach. Got the king suite for 4 people. Good price and the room was clean and very pretty. The second room was a little small but not really a problem for one night. The bathroom was clean but also a little small. They provided Rusk bath products, which were high quality and we loved the fresh scent! We did laundry although it was quite expensive. 2.5 for wash and another 2.5 for the dryer. Detergent was not provided so we just used shampoo… the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was decent. Internet was free but the signal was quite weak. We couldn’t get internet at all from the second room which was on the inside of the suite. Overall a pretty good stay.
Would come back again!

Friendly, accommodating staff is a plus here. The room was pleasant and clean, very clean bathroom. Keurig coffee in the room, cable TV that works fine. Wifi is very strong, a real plus. Don’t pay attention to others complaining about continental breakfast, it’s perfectly fine, fresh and plentiful. There is a pool, but the temp never made 70 when I was here in late May (!). For me there is one problem, not major and it may not bother others. The room doors are very heavy and people tend to slam them. When this happens it rocks your world if you’re having a quiet time next door, or worse if you’re asleep. Also there is not much sound insulation between rooms, so request an upper floor room, or you will hear the herd of buffalo above you every time they move. I don’t have a car, so a bike is a must. It’s quite a walk into town from this place, at least 15 – 20 min.

Perfect. Close to downtown, good price, pet friendly, keurig in the room, comfortable beds, free breakfast, and very helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again!

This little place was perfect. The staff was great and offered sightseeing advice, waffle making tips and just cared about us. I’d highly recommend staying here when in the Cape. It’s actually hard too leave.

We booked a 2 queen room which they didn’t have available so they upgraded us for free to a king suite! Most comfortable bed ever and keurig machine in room. Great continental breakfast and wonderful staff. Would definitely stay here again!

No frills, basic accommodations within close walking distance of downtown P-​town. Basic breakfast included was a nice touch. Rooms are newly renovated but the carpet needs a refresh, either a good cleaning or replacement. My only real complaint was that the suite wasn’t quite as described on the website. I expected more of a common room from the description. Note the main bed is in the common room with no door. For us it was no big deal but would’ve liked some more privacy. Mom loved the convenience of the Keurig with K-​cups for her coffe fix. We all loved the refrigerator as it enabled us to buy a. Are of bottled water and save some money. Overall I think this is a great value for a family looking for a hotel rather than a house/​condo.

New furnishings, GREAT mattresses and welcoming staff! We’ll be back!
