Ok, when you have to deal with a government service, and it goes more smoothly than you ever could imagine, I just needed to tell the world about it… or at least those who use Unilocal.
So I had to get a street parking sticker for my husband’s car. My husband who has a very different last name than I, and whose name is not on any of the home bills. I was anticipating hours of bureaucracy. I brought our marriage licence, our car insurance policy (with both our names on it), both car’s registrations’, our child’s college fund (no, I just threw that one in for laughs), but you get the idea… I was armed with enough paperwork to go to fight city hall, and, well, at least put up a fuss.
But are you ready for this… all my preparations… unnecessary! I sauntered in, and a normal human being was behind the desk. She took my husband’s registration info and my $ 100, and handed my a sticker. I was shocked! What was I going to do with all the extra time I set aside? (Go shopping?)
Wait, this gets better… because I did not go down town to city hall to get my parking sticker, and instead went to the Dept of Traffic Engineering off Allens Ave… free parking. Yep, pulled into a parking lot, parked, spent five minutes inside, and then left.
