Bethany Home is an independent, non-​profit skilled nursing and rehabilitation provider located near Wayland Square on Providence’s East Side.

We are a «Boutique Nursing & Rehabilitation Center». Each of our 33 rooms are designed with privacy and dignity in mind. In addition to the comfortable and homelike living areas our residents share, each private room comes standard with television, telephone and wireless internet access and affords them privacy when they prefer it. Many of our current and prior residents have commented that being at Bethany Home is the closest they could get to being «home»…an atmosphere we strive daily to create for our guests.

History

Established in 1892.

Bethany Home of Rhode Island, founded in 1892, was the brain-​child of Mrs. M. Nellie Brown of Providence who dreamed of providing safe and comfortable housing for women in need. She recruited others to assist her and they set out to raise funds to finance a non-​profit, charitable home to help women «go out stronger in body and lighter in heart to renew their struggle for self-​support». In the years since it’s inception, Bethany Home has been able to do just that.

Today, in 2015, Bethany Home is an independent, non-​profit skilled nursing and rehabilitation provider for both men and women. Situated on a wooded estate near Wayland Square on Providence’s East Side, Bethany Home of Rhode Island is a vital member of the community we serve.
