History

Established in 2009.

The original owners, Cindy & Uday (also known as Mr. & Mrs Twist), accidentally discovered the California phenomenon of self-​serve frozen yogurt while on vacation in the Bay Area in the summer of 2008. They enjoyed it so much that as soon as they returned home to New Jersey they started making plans to open their own self-​serve frozen yogurt shop, but added their own twist — a cozy, loungey atmosphere that feels like a «home away from home» with books, games, big screen TV, free wi-​fi and of course, the best frozen yogurt on the East Coast.

The establishment changed names from Twist Yogurt without Limits to Sketch in August 2013, but it still offers the same great product, service, and atmosphere!

Love this spot! I used to come here more when it was called Twist because who doesn’t enjoy eating froyo while playing game boards? Also, this froyo shop has a lot of space to accommodate bigger groups of friends and you won’t feel as pressured to leave after your cup of froyo is empty!
They also have a wonderful and diverse selection of flavors ranging from fruity to chocolatey! I love to top my froyo with fresh fruits like strawberries and mangos but they have all sorts of chocolate chunks and candies.
Last time I checked it was $ 0.49 a pound, which is a little more pricy, but for what the shop offers, it’s just about right!

They changed hours for winter supposedly. Don’t open now till 3pm. I was there at exactly 3pm today, doors were locked, sales person was inside, looked right at me and kept walking to the back. I waited and waited and waited… still closed. As I waited, several customers stopped to go in too and were disappointed as well. They lure you there with big signs about having 50% off yogurt, and then don’t open on time! Terrible business. Going now to get MUCH better yogurt at Fruity Yogurt. Who cares if it’s full price? I’ll pay it for better yogurt and much better customer service!

The frozen yogurt here is soooo good. I mixed the Ghiradelli chocolate, vanilla, and very berry flavors for my take on Neapolitan. The flavors are very creamy and rich, and taste and texture wise, I probably couldn’t tell the difference between this and regular soft service.
Another huge plus was the freshness of the toppings. Some fro yo places have toppings that taste like they have been sitting out for Lord knows long. Everything at Sketch looked visibly fresh and their taste confirmed that.
I think we paid something like 12 dollars for 2 cups of yogurt which is a bit pricey, but not too much higher than other places in my area. The quality of the yogurt, friendliness of the staff and the comfortable lounge layout make the cost worth it in my mind.

My daughter has a severe tree nut and peanut allergy. They misleadingly and wrongfully label their products as «nut free» and some employees tell patrons when asked that their food is safe for those with nut allergies. However, all frozen yogurts in the store are produced in a facility that produces other food items containing nuts — therefore for anyone in the «severe» category, this food product is life threateningly unsafe. We are disappointed in their mislabeling of their products — and I might add, the containers in the back that contain the liquid yogurt, look anything but healthy.

A great place for hanging out with friends and enjoying some froyo.
I got the tart froyo with fruit and popping boba. Unlike other froyo places, the tart actually tasted tart and was the perfect consistency. However, I have to dock off two stars because it’s just so expensive. My tiny cup of froyo came out be $ 3.65 when back home in CA, it would have literally been half that price.
Overall, I’ll probably come here again with friends, but I definitely don’t think this place is worth its price.

Good frozen yogurt, especially the ghiradeli chocolate and the peanut butter! The toppings (especially the chopped up candy bars) were very good, too!
However, the guy preparing the toppings seemed to be coughing a lot into his hands, which was a bit unappetizing. The last thing I want is to get sick during the summer while enjoying some frozen yogurt.
Overall, a nice place! It seems to be a popular hangout spot in the evenings, especially among the high schoolers.

Im a fan of all of the FroYo shops opening up lately, but all are not the same. Twist stands out among a crowded market.
There are a few things that I really like about Twist. First, it has a fair selection of yogurt flavors; and not the standards either. I tend to gravitate towards berry and vanilla flavors, but was surprised to see the Girl Scout fav «samoa» today! Second, the toppings are fantastic. I’m not a gummy-​bear, sloppy fruit person when it comes to toppings. I like fresh, healthy toppings. They offer several fresh friuts and nuts along with the standards like chocolate and hard candies. Finally, the seating area is really nice and comfortable. Plenty of room.
They also have free Wi-Fi…which is allowing me to write this review!

if i were to rate Twist based on the froyo alone, it would get 3 stars. Twist’s comfy seating, bookshelf of board games and puzzle books, and the overall vibe bump it to 4.
the froyo is good, and they always have plain eurotart to fall back on when the rotating flavors just aren’t something i’m in the mood for. the toppings bar contains most of the usuals– mango, kiwi, berries, nuts, cookie dough, blah blah blah. no complaints there. the pricing is a bit high… but you’l find that just about everywhere in Princeton. no surprise.
i woudn’t go to twist just to grab froyo for the road… you’ve gotta stay awhile, catch up with friends, play a game or 7 of guess who, etc. to really get the whole experience.

yeah the frozen yogurt is edible. but the staff here was the ruddist person i have ever met…
The times i go there, all they care about is how fast i pay them and leave the store.
one time i went there right at the closing time, asked them if they were closed, and the girl part timer was «yeah~ psh» and threw the garbage bag right next to me.
They should train the workers better.

Pretty decent froyo, but it’s definitely a bit on the costly side (55 cents/​oz). That being said though, I got the Mango Sorbet and I was pleasantly impressed with the quality of the froyo. Super delish! They’ve also got a solid selection of toppings which is always nice to see and even marshmallow… syrup?! Is that what it’s called? But marshmallow flavored goodness coming out of their dispensers.
The ambience of the place is pretty nice. I could definitely see myself coming here for froyo dates and hang outs. Probably leaning more toward a 3.5, but the price is definitely a big dealio for me. With the ice cream options available in Princeton, I might rather just get some cheap ice cream.

With all of the Frozen Yogurt franchises (Pink Berry, Red Mango, Fro Yo) it’s refreshing to find an independent, place that does frozen yogurt with it’s own a «twist».
You walk into the store and are greeted by a dimly lit, inviting, lounge feel. As your eyes adjust to the darker room, you will see books on the shelves, art work, assorted board games, semi plush sofas, chairs/​tables and leather lounges adorning the walls and seating area. They even have a piano if you feel so inclined.
You walk to the back of the store where you will find 6 frozen yogurt machines stocked with creative and ever changing flavors. A friendly staff is there to answer your questions and offer a samples of the yogurt. Once your done filling your cup with Fro Yo, you can shuffle over to the toppings bar. The toppings section is large and host a large variety of fix ins (cookie dough, Kit Kat’s, Resses, Pineapple, Mangos etc). Load up with as much stuff as you would like. Don’t forget save room in your cup for the caramel, whip cream and the sprinkles.
Place your Frozen Yogurt masterpiece it on the scale and you will be charged a very reasonable price by weight. I always try to support, small and local business.

We stop by here anytime we are in or around Princeton. Their Eurotart yogurt is great, and a with some fresh fruits and nuts… it makes for a low sugar treat!

I’ve gone to twist a few times. Their toppings are choco-​licious and since I love getting sugar comas, their toppings are perfect for me.
However their yogurt isn’t so consistent. Once or twice I was blown away by how good the yogurt was. I believe it was strawberry cheesecake and dulce de leche. But most other times, it left a nasty after-​taste in my mouth. Example: peppermint candy cane from winter 2010. The yogurt is both watery and creamy, which means they melt fast and lead me to believe the «healthy» yogurt really isn’t that healthy. If I was going for creamy, I’d go with Ice Cream. And Princeton has many ice cream places in town that is better tasting and cheaper than twist (like Halo Pub).
They do have some nice games in the sitting area though. Mainly monopoly and sorry. But I never usually stay that long because its dark and unwelcoming.

They call themselves a «frozen yogurt lounge» which makes me picture rich, skinny women in red spandex laying back on chaise lounges with their pursed lips only slightly open as the frozen yogurt drips from the spigot. Broad-​shouldered frat boys fan them as the women snap their fingers to have them stop the spigots. But no, Twist just looks like a Starbucks with eight flavors of self-​serve yogurt instead of lattes and electric yellow walls that are anything but soothing.
So who cares? It’s a major college hangout with big sitting areas, all occupied of course, like the annex to a campus study hall. I was relegated to a side counter where I had a combination mix of Mom’s Peanut Cookie and Raspberry Cheesecake with berries and shredded toasted coconut on top, all for about 44-​cents per ounce (see photo). It was definitely on the creamy end of the tartness spectrum, probably the sugar rush these students needed to get through finals. It was definitely the sugar rush I needed before heading back to the hotel to write work emails that night.
FROYO — 3 stars… pretty creamy stuff for the sweeter tooth
AMBIANCE — 3.5 stars… it’s a lounge, dude

Pinkberry wanna be. The yogurt are not nearly as flavorful and thick as Pinkberry. The mango flavor yogurt tasted somewhat fake. Everything tasted artificial and watered down

One of my favorite froyo spots! I feel like Koreans are really into it, so there was an explosion of froyo places up north, but none compare to Twist.
I love how Twist offers so many non-​fat flavors/​seasonal flavors, and they have a huge fixing bar. I recently tried their popping bobas from their fixing bar which I liked. Their Ghiradelli chocolate froyo is excellent if you’re craving chocolate. I also loved their pumpkin flavor froyo. Their regular euro-​tart is good — just the right amount of tanginess.
The best part is that at the end, I end up having this huge cup full of toppings, but the price doesn’t reflect that at all! You could never get this much at any place up in north Jersey.
*TIP: It’s cash only so be prepared to bring the greens!

I went here about five times while staying here in p’ton, living in NY makes you a real stickler for wanting serving yourself.
I liked all the flavors I tried, especially Pomegranate Twist and Eggnog. The toppings were killer good, though I agree with a previous review that the mochi was a little bit off. Peanut butter and hot fudge on fro-​yo is really good, although it kind of defeats the purpose. I pick this place over the bent spoon.
