Super reasonable prices. They have kayaks and canoes for multiple people or singles. There’s $ 1 waters and some snacks, with the opportunity to see some turtles and birds around.

We have been coming here a couple times a season for a few years now and it is consistently a great experience. The scenery is beautiful and peaceful, the water is very calm, and rentals are super affordable and always available. In the last two years we started bringing our kids, who are now almost 3. Last summer we did canoes with them, which was fine, and they enjoyed it. This year we did the larger single kayaks with a cushion for the kids on the floor, and that was better — I’d recommend this with toddlers as you have more control over how much they can move around. The kids loved seeing all the turtles and dragonflies, and they also give the kids nets so they can try to catch things in the water, which was fun for them. All and all, this is a great way to spend an hour or two!

Very easy, almost glasslike river and a no-frills outfitter made this a great mother’s day outing. They’re open till 8PM so if you want to get a late start, it’s no worries. They have some water and snacks for sale at reasonable prices. Just a heads-up: the 4-person canoes they have are really 2 person + 2 kids, so we ended up having to rent 2 kayaks for more money, but it wasn’t a big deal. There’s no facilities except for a porta-john at the start of the river. There is some great wildlife on the banks, we saw about 20 turtles sunning themselves on logs, lots of birds and a heron, and if you stop paddling and just drift down the silent river you can hear some really amazing bird song. We went for 2 hours round trip, which was fine for me because the scenery itself is nice but doesn’t change very much downstream.

Went canoing today here! It was a perfect day to go canoing. Reasonable rates and friendly service. you can rent by the hour, it’s 15.00 for the first hour, 6.00 after. You can rent aluminum canoes or kayaks. They also sell small snacks and drinks for 1.00 and under. We ended up going out 2.5 miles and it was 20.00 for 2 hours, ten minutes. We went around noon and there were still plenty of canoes left for renting. It’s open fairly late and they are open until November 4th, so I’m hoping to go back for more canoing before it gets too cold.

Came here on their last open weekday: the Wednesday after Labor Day. The canoe ride along the Millstone Creek is SOBEAUTIFUL!!! The guy that rents the canoes is pretty friendly and it’s really inexpensive too… around $ 15/hr. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon…
