DO NOT GO HERE!!! I booked through
… when I arrived it looked terrible. very old, which can be quaint at times … but this was not. I told them I’d prepaid through
when they said they had no room reserved for me. Turns out it was misbooked … and they had my two rooms reserved for the night prior to my arrival. Not a huge deal … and the hotel had many rooms vacant (no surprise here). However, the staff were of NO HELP AT ALL. Told me it wasn’t their fault and they won’t do anything for me. not even call
. nothing. Well — I don’t recommend this place at all — worst customer service. They simply were not helpful whatsoever. Clearly this place has a management problem … and it’s extremely old and run down from what I could tell. So, I just went across the street to the Residence Inn … they were very accommodating, paid MUCH less for better rooms by far!!! Don’t waste your money going to Forest Villas Hotel!

This has been one of the best hotel experiences! The hotel is so damn cute, the room is nice and clean, the tub is big, and the balcony is a bonus. The front desk guy was very nice, I immediately felt comfortable as I was staying here solo. He even gave me a plastic knife for my PB&J, since I’m a poor grad student. Speaking of, I booked through Expedia for a single room, 1 night for $ 89. That’s amazing!
I would definitely recommend this beautiful space to anyone. Should I ever pass through the area again I will most definitely stay here again.

Stayed at this hotel on ¹⁰⁄₁₇ and ¹⁰⁄₁₈. Not a bad place to stay but the rooms are rather small. There was a balcony with chairs and a table but our view was other customers’ rooms — needless to say, no time was spent on the balcony.
Check out time is 11:00 AM. Our room phone started ringing at 10:45 AM on Sunday as we were packing. We were asked by the front desk if we were going to stay another night. I said no, and wasn’t check out time 11:00? The answer was ‘yes…so you are getting ready to leave then?’ That has never happened to me in ANY hotel I have ever stayed at. Extremely rude and unnecessary. The room is ours until check out time — don’t rush us. Won’t stay here again because of that. Lots of other places to stay.

We stayed there just this past weekend (10÷2−10÷4). The pictures online do not do this place justice! We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival how beautiful the property was. Everything was clean and you can tell they keep this place well maintained. We had our own private terrace with a view of the courtyard! The staff was great! Very friendly, helpful, and personable. :) The views are AMAZING! I grew up in Prescott, so we like to visit as much as we can. We loved this place and will be definitely staying here every time we come up if we can. :) Forest Villas is a charming place!

We decided to go to Prescott this weekend — very last minute! Everything was booked and we thought it was hopeless. Luckily my google search included this non-​chain gem! My husband called this place at 11p on a Thursday and in 2 minutes we had two rooms secured for only $ 135/​night. The average hotel was closer to $ 199 and we would have paid it since this was a last minute decision.
Only 5 minutes from the middle of town and surrounded by everything you need: restaurants, casinos, theater, lakes, hiking…
Great staff, very accommodating. Beautiful grounds with breakfast in the morning and piano music early afternoon. Clean, quiet and comfortable.

For a last minute, last resort, panicked state of desperation to find a hotel on a night when literally EVERYTHING was sold out, in Jerome, Cottonwood, and Prescott — this hotel was perfect! It was a warm bed, roof over our head and somewhere we could lay our head and rest for the night so we wouldn’t have to drive back to Phoenix. My girl and I desperately called around every hotel (not kidding) and everything was sold out! Finally we called Forest Villas and we were told that they only had one room left — the Presidential Suite. We raced over so they wouldn’t give the room to someone else and were ecstatic the room was still available when we arrived. It cost us a pretty penny to stay in the Presidential Suite, however nothing too extreme.
Walking into the room, we both expected that «wow» factor, since it WAS the Presidential Suite and all. Well, not so much. I mean the room wasn’t bad, it was just a bit outdated… Too many flower-​y decorations, like you just got to your grandmother’s house to spend the night. There was also a bath tub/​jacuzzi in the kitchen… Which would’ve made sense if you would soak in the tub, drinking wine while perhaps watching a movie or having a romantic fireplace going; but none of that.
We had a cute little bar area/​half kitchen with a fridge, which was definitely a plus! The bathroom was nice and spacious (for two girls to get ready in, a big bathroom is a necessity!) Then you walk into the bedroom, and it was quite plain — just the bed and a dresser and a TV. It felt like it was a blast from the past, but cozy nonetheless, and the bed was comfy.
This was definitely a cute little hotel, however for the money we paid, we expected a little more; more upgrades, breakfast, something. Not a bad place to stay, especially for a romantic getaway with your hunny — the views are spectacular!

I’ve stayed here about 6 times. We really like the Executive room or the King studio suite. It’s true I’m not a huge fan of the mauve and turquoise color scheme and the breakfast can be a bit lackluster, but we like the quiet, the balconies and the whirlpool and fireplace in the room. I bring along flameless candles and have a nice relaxing time with my guy. It’s close enough to town to drive in easily but not as pricey as the hotels in town of similar quality.

Gorgeous hotel with friendly staff. Great little breakfast buffet in the mornings! I loved the little patio and enjoyed a gorgeous sunrise and sunset from it!

This was my 4^th stay & it has been consistently very good. The rooms & bathrooms have always appeared to be very clean & the same goes for the rest of the hotel. The beds are firm but not hard & the pillows are nice & soft. I was able to fit 5 large & 6 small boxes of left over restaurant food in the refrigerator they provide. I wish the showerheads were not low flow because I had to take an extra long shower which used the same amount of water, or more, in the end. The bathrooms are a decent size & have tub/​shower combinations so they are a comfortable fit for all. The staff has always been friendly & willing to help. I wouldn’t recommend this particular hotel for small children who like to run & play as it is very quiet & is a smaller hotel. It’s great for couples & business trips. The continental breakfast is pretty good if you avoid the eggs. The bagels we had were very fresh & they offer juices, sausage, cereal, mini muffins, fruit & more which you can enjoy in the little dining area. We prefer to take ours to our room to enjoy on the private balcony. There is also a beautiful area outside that has tables under vine covered arches, the vines are not always blooming however. They also have a pianist who plays during breakfast hours on Sunday, I’m not sure if he/​she is there on other days as well. I really feel like the owners put some thought into making their guests feel comfortable & relaxed. You don’t find that in many moderately priced hotels.

We have been staying at this location for almost 5 years now and found it to be very comfortable and the price reasonable.
The most recent stay was this New Year weekend and Katherine has always been pleasant and helpful .
My other half usually just calls in for the reservations and has not had any problem getting a room.
The property is dated, that’s true. But the room’s have been comfortable and clean. I can say that we have been in just about every floor during our stays and no problems.
This last stay we had the handicap accessible room and the bathroom was a bit odd. There was a hand held shower inside and there wasn’t but a trickle of water to it… oh well, I like taking baths too.
The pool is very nice in the summer and the hubs loves the hot tub.
As for the breakfast options, I just take toast or a bagel and juice. The hubs, just has the eggs. It’s good enough to get rid of the hunger pains .
Never had any problems with the heating or air conditioning.

Such a great experience! I was here for a few days while in Prescott on a job and I loved my time here. Laurie, the woman who runs the breakfast, was a such a delight. I mean, shit man, EVERYONE here was a delight. So nice.

I stayed at the Forest Villas with my husband for one night, and had a completely different experience than most of the reviews. We arrived after camping near Lynx lake for a night. When driving up we confirmed in person what we had seen online… the place is dated. After checking with a nice enough older lady and creepy guy standing behind her, we took our belongings to our room. When the door opened, I was struck by a strong odor of a flowery air freshener. I’ve got allergies, and it caused an instant headache. The hubs found filters soaked in the overpowering odor inside the AC, and removed them. After airing the room out, it was somewhat bearable. Unfortunately though, the pillows had no pillow to them, and left our head against a hard bed where you could feel the mattress springs. Our sleep was off and on, at times my husband woke up from the smoke detector spotlight right above the bed. The toilet in the bathroom was wedged against the wall with a foot clearance in front of it.
In the morning we went down for breakfast. The lady serving was nice, but didn’t have a lot to work with. The food was horrible, what we tried of it anyway. My husband saw the scrambled eggs getting microwaved, the sausage was bland and nubby. The toaster took too long for the line forming in the small space, so I didn’t toast my english muffin all the way. The coffee was okay.
The hotel all in all is somewhere that older folks might enjoy, especially if fond of the early 80’s style of décor.

We loved this place. Not sure what others are talking about with the fat tvs old fridges and stains anywhere. This place is great adorable. Reasonably priced for what you get and in a decent location. I have had no issues so far and wouldn’t plan to have any before we leave. Loved it!

This lovely hotel is a charming alternative to the usual boring chains. I’ve stayed here twice and the rooms are clean and offer the usual amenities; the beds and pillows are quite comfortable, and the bathrooms are nice too. The free breakfast is what you’d expect, and the wifi is free too and works well. It’s also convenient in that the AZ shuttle from the Phoenix airport regularly stops at the Radisson next door and you can just walk over.
What sets this hotel apart is the charm. Every room has a small balcony and somebody in love with Italy spent some time designing the building, pool area and gardens. Some of it is a bit hokey but I Iiked that too. There are roses, fruit trees, a bubbling fountain and a walkway covered in grape vines. The Concord grapes were ripe and easy to pick in mid August when I was there. The pool and hot pool are outside and quite beautiful with a view of the surrounding mountains. You can also see rabbits in the brush on that side of the hotel in the evening.
The breakfast room is small and sunny, but you can take your tray into the gracious lobby or out onto the terrace. They have live piano music on Sundays. This hotel tends to attract older folks so it is quieter than usual and if you use the pool, you will probably be alone. All this for about $ 90/​night? What a great deal. After our recent stay we headed up to the Grand Canyon and as we were pulling into the parking lot for the Worst Western I just started groaning. How boring it seemed there after staying at Forest Villas.

The breakfast is composed of decent comfort food. They make their own french toast, that’s a first for us. They serve the sweet lemonade, o.j. and whole milk. It is quiet. They have a pool and a jacuzzi. The latter was awesome. Two jet one for the back and one for the feet. The pool is smaller than most but it is nice and clean than a few hotels we visited. The hotel is located around great shopping spots like JR penny, Sams Club, Costco. Want to live in Prescott now! One thing you need to know. This two story has no elevator. Be ready to haul your stuff by the stairs. The hotel has an old world charm, stately but not grandiose. You will like it here if you don’t mind no elevators.

I love this place! Yes it’s a bit outdated but somehow it works for me. The music in the elevator, the staircase, the décor, the setting they kinda remind me of early 90’s TV shows :) Seriously, this is a good place with friendly people. Very clean room, great bed, good breakfast (bagels, muffins, eggs and more), nice pool & Jacuzzi area, cute private balcony, small but sucficient gym. great location and very quiet. At $ 90 a night it’s just perfect!

We were traveling to Prescott for my son’s soccer tournament last weekend. We were part of a block of rooms that the soccer coach had reserved. We live an hour away, and we knew some of the team would stay both nights because of an early game. We had plans with friends Friday night, so opted to only reserve for Saturday night. The reservation was made over the phone, with no email or written confirmation (which I will never do again, lesson learned).
When we went to check in, the lady was very rude to us (openly angry) because she said we had booked for the Friday night, and hadn’t shown up. I explained to her that we only booked for the one night since we had plans at home Friday night, and that there must have been some misunderstanding or mistake. She informed me that the man who took the reservation «never makes mistakes.»
She said she would «try to find a room for us» as she had cancelled our reservation. We then asked her if we were going to be charged for Friday and her response was that absolutely, we had already been charged. We went back and forth a little, and we asked to speak to a manager. We were informed he was «out of state» and that she could not issue the refund. At that point, we decided to go to another hotel. We left with the name and number of who to call this week. (As a side note, we went next door to the Marriott Residence Inn which was DELIGHTFUL in every way).
My husband called the manager today to see if we could get a refund, and he said that he clearly remembered talking to me, repeating back the dates, and that I definitely wanted two nights. THIS IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE! He said they had lost revenue because of us and the best he could do was issue a 50% refund. He told my husband «The least you could do was call us and tell us you weren’t coming.’ WE DIDN’T BOOK FOR FRIDAY NIGHT SO HOW WOULD WE HAVE KNOWN TO CALL!!! :)
I understand that hotels have cancellation policies, but this was CLEARLY a mistake or misunderstanding. My guess is that we were lumped with the other families in the block who were staying two nights. Instead we were treated as if we had intentionally done something to harm their business and actually publicly shamed, in front of our children. We continue to pursue our refund through other avenues.
I cannot speak about the hotel itself, because we did not make it past the front desk. I would caution anyone who is reserving over the phone to insist upon an email confirmation.
While we are upset about the loss of $ 100, we are more appalled by the complete lack of customer service and respect. I have never been treated so rudely in the service industry. A locally owned business in an area that is over-​saturated with lodging options really should be more service-​oriented and flexible. I’ll never stay there again, and I’m pretty sure our local soccer teams won’t book there again. I’ll go with a national chain like Marriott with a proven record of customer service.
Stayed April 2013, traveled with family

My husband and I came up for the day to kayak on and hike around Watson Lake. We had a wonderful time. The area is absolutely beautiful. We decide to spend the night. We always look on Unilocal when we are visiting an area. After reading reviews for several places my husband called the Forest Villas. He spoke to Catherine on the phone and knew immediately this is where we wanted to stay. He was impressed by her friendliness and said she reminded him of a dear family friend.
The property is well kept, pool and jacuzzi very clean. We were pleased with our room and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is included, scrambled eggs, sausage, muffins, bagels, toast, fruit and coffee. Lori was right there filling everyone’s cup with fresh coffee. Nice touch, very sweet person. For a large property they manage to make you feel comfortable and right at home. Thanks Catherine and Lori for making our short stay pleasent.

My husband and I recently spent 3 nights at Forest Villas Hotel. We were very happy with the hotel, employees were friendly and hotel was very clean. Our room was nice with an outside balcony with a great view. The bed was very comfortable as well. The bathroom was disappointing though. It was very small, not much counter space and toilet was so close to the wall in front that it was difficult to sit down.
The continental breakfast was okay if you stuck to the bagels and the orange juice and apple juice had a hint of chlorine from the water it was made with.
The pool and hot tub were nice and enjoyable. The grounds were nice as well and they had underground parking with an elevator up to the upper level rooms. The music in the hallways and lobby sounded like Lawrence Welk and needs to be updated a little.
We ended up leaving some of our clothes hanging in the closet when we checked out and the hotel called us as soon as it was discovered. We were so happy we hadn’t left town yet and it was just a short drive back to pick them up, what a relief.
All in all, a great hotel for the money.
