Worst tailor I’ve ever been to! Rude and expensive. Having your location in a nice part of town is no reason to over charge especially when your work is poor. Giving them a one star only because I can’t give them zero.

This has to be the rudest, most expensive and slow alteration shop ever! Do NOT go here!!!

Very rude and exceptionally overpriced. I went in to get my new suit tailored and after they bossed me around and failed to say anything, they simply handed me a slip of paper with an illegible itemized list. They were trying to charge $ 100+ for basic hemming of pants and an unnecessary millimeter sleeve take in. I was in shock, and told them thanks but no thanks. They seemed to be glad to not have my business, and alluded to the«nice area of town» as the reason for their prices being this high. Seriously?! I grabbed my things and ran, and would suggest others to do the same. *Update to this: Went to Barash’s at 95th and Mission in the Ranchmart Shopping Center, very friendly, fast, and instead of $ 100+ she quoted me at $ 37.00 out the door.*

It is surprisingly difficult to find a tuxedo for rent in Kansas City, but if you are in need of a tuxedo for an event, Corinth Tailors & Tuxeduo Rental, located in the Corinth Square Shopping Center, is a great place from which to rent. For a single tuxedo, prices range from $ 59-$ 175 in several styles. If you are part of a wedding, there are special group rates available(including the option for the groom’s rental to be free). Shoes are also available for rent for $ 16-$ 20. The woman who takes measurements is very nice and efficient. She was very helpful, and was able to have the tuxedo available in time for a fitting before the event. We came in a week before a black tie event(on a Saturday), and the tuxedo was available to be tried on by Tuesday(to make sure it would fit). When there was a size discrepancy, another piece was still available in plenty of time for the event. When we picked up the tuxedo on Friday, she allowed my husband to try on the entire tuxedo once more with assurances that(if he was not satisfied with the length of the sleeves) she could make alterations.(As it was, the tuxedo fit perfectly, and he looked quite dashing!) From the Saturday event, the tuxedo was to be returned by 1800 on Monday(because Corinth Tailors & Tuxedo Rental are closed on Sundays). The entire experience was efficient and pain free. There was no difficulty with any part of the process, including measurements, renting, fittings or returns.

This place is run by my people, Koreans, and for some reason I thought they would give me special treatment or at least try a bit more. Well, never assume anything was the lesson I learned. After scouring every major store at the mall for a maternity jacket, I settled for a regular one in a size 3 x bigger than I am thinking I could get it altered. Yes, it meant ripping out every seam except for the middle, but was worth it considering how ugly maternity stuff is. So I brought it in to Corinth, a place my dad brings all his stuff for altering, and explained my situation. She made pleasant small talk while pinning and tucking, and since she was small and recently had a baby I thought she understood what I wanted. She asked for 2 weeks to do this saying she could finish it in one, but 2 weeks would be better for her. Since it was 70 degrees and sunny out I happily agreed. Except the following week turned closer to 40 degrees and windy… so I called and asked if it could be done earlier. I could pick it up Wednesday. My dad brought it home and they had forgotten to do the left side! So I brought it back in, and showed them. Also asking for them to make the arms smaller. We sat and argued over this for 5 minutes, her trying to convince me if it’s too small I won’t be comfortable. I kept telling her, no, I like it fitted in the shoulders and arms. We went back and forth, and back and forth. I just got it back this week and sure it’s smaller, but it could be skinnier where I asked specifically for them to do and it still looks like that left side was untouched. Is it worth bringing in again? At this point yes, but it does mean trying out a new alteration place for the future.
