I like the small-town feel of Stater Bros. I’ve never had an issue with customer service or the quality of their products. I also find they sell many things for a lower price than Vons, Safeway, Albertons, etc. Compare the price of any vegetable from their produce to the same thing at Sprouts and you can paint the picture pretty quickly. A cheaper and more interesting option is North Park on Poway and Pomerado. Not as much selection but you can get most if not all of your core vegetable list from there along with many other things that most homes need(salsa, meats, etc.).

I recently became a Stater Bros Markets lover. Conveniently located in the same parking lot as Chipotle — they have pretty good prices for grocery items. I of course went for my K Sandwiches breakfast sandwiches boxes. One day, I will eventually work out a better breakfast option — but right now, this is doing the job for me! They are a lot cheaper than Vons — so I had started going here to buy my breakfast sandwiches. Pretty much a happy camper with the lower prices. People were pretty nice at the cashier. Was in and then out! Would definitely come back if I was in the mood to grab something from Chipotle and I needed to grab some groceries too.

I’d like to give a 5 for the staff. Poor people! Employee owned and operated is a myth. Avoid shopping here if at all possible. Unfortunately, not really avoidable if you live in the area. Might as well be owned by Vons. Same prices(can we say price fixing) with same sales and coupon games, just alternated weekly. The meat quality has gone way down. Just try and find fish or produce from USA. Heartland of CA? But you can’t even find an avocado from here in the whole dang store! Prices at Farmer’s Market are usually cheaper than the sale prices… with 1000000% better quality. No in-house bakery. Deli is fake too. Egg prices went up?! What happened to supply and demand? China and Australia boycott of US poultry products should bring prices way down. So we raise everything $ 2…to match Vons? Try Bisher’s meats across the street, the Poway Farmer’s Market, and North Park Produce.

Stater bros is a decent grocery store. The staff is always friendly and willing to help you. I usually use the deli and salad bar for lunch. The wrap has never disappointed me along side an Italian pasta or salad.

I have recently started going here instead of the Von’s across the street. I like the prices here better than Von’s and they seem to have more items that I like on sale here. The check out clerks are always friendly and pleasant. They are also more of them open than at Von’s. I usually come here once a week to stock up on groceries. I am big into fat free food and they seem to have a good selection as well. I just wish they wouldn’t have high fructose in their salad dressing as I have a reaction to the stuff. Oh well. The parking here is easy it is never crowded.

I always get my bottled distilled water here because it is cheaper than Vons. I also like their selection of produce. It is a lot better than Grocery Outlet. They have an interesting variety of bananas here. Some half size bananas and some with the skin being a dark brownish red. The banana fruit inside is mostly the same except for a different type of consistancy. The lines here at lunch time are always shorter than Von’s across the street which is another thing that I really like about them. The check out clerks are very friendly and so was the manager who I spoke to when a problem arose. Overall the prices are less here than Vons across the street.

Certainly better then the PQ store. This place is still pretty ghetto filled with your classic tweakers and drunk hillbilly types but it’s a «cheap» type grocery store so you can’t expect luxury.

We have so many grocery stores and discount stores in Poway. Stater Bros doesn’t claim to be a discount store, yet their prices are the best. They also have the friendliest and happiest cashiers in town. I do most of my grocery shopping here. I still hit Sprout’s and Costco for certain items, but Stater Bros is overall the grocery store in town.

Just cooked a steak from this place, almost 5 star restaurant quality beef. The best prices in town I almost shed a tear. Place is clean, everything is in order. My cashier was nice and courteous. I only shopped here once, and im pretty sure ill be coming back here again.

I go here rather than the Vons across the street because I find their prices cheaper. I do like the frozen foods selections and their fruit selections. I also like that I don’t have to give them a personal id or my phone number to get the discounted price. That is very helpful as well.

Their meat and wine selection are great and the prices are cheaper than Vons across the street. The negative are their checkout lines! Always long and understaffed!

Love this place! Everything is reasonably priced, but I’m rating this 5 stars because the customer service is EXCELLENT! Every time I go here and deal with its employees, whether it’s at the deli, bakery, seafood or check-out line, everyone is always very helpful and friendly. I keep going back because I want to support businesses who value customer service and attention.

This is a pretty good alternative to Vons. Decent prices and you don’t need to be a club member to get discounts. Which is a little strange if you think about it, but hey, it works out. I’ve never had to experience the long lines I keep hearing about but that’s just me. Also had their fried chicken for lunch. Kind of bland and hard which is par for the course for every supermarket.

Wine selection is great but the check out lines are ridic. I have never had a smooth wait. Going an hour before they close at least makes it better otherwise it’s way too crowded.

Deli Sandwich review. With more and more sandwich places biting the dust, I thought I’d try out the Deli at Stater Brothers. I’ve enjoyed the sandwiches at Henry’s and Jimbos so I was hopeful of something halfway decent. Well, the sandwiches are okay. They do have both hot(panini) and cold to chose from. I rolled the dice and picked the Ham and Gruyère cheese panini. The sandwich had the blandest Gruyère I’ve ever tasted. What really put me off was the total lack of enthusiasm of the server. I could tell the server was put upon having to make my panini. She was sooo slow and just handed it over to me without a smile or a have a nice day. VONS does that. Three stars for the sandwich, one star penalty for the service.

Great store, wish that there was one closer. Nice people, good prices, and good selection. Nice experience, even donated towards cleaning up the beaches and had a chat about the nasty mess plastic grocery store bags do to the bottom of the ocean.
