SDA is a brand new dance studio in Poway. We are focused on individual growth. With small class sizes and a ton of individual attention, SDA is a great learning environment!

Jennifer G.

Business Owner

Jennifer is a graduate of the nationally recognized Oklahoma City University Dance Program under the direction of Jo Rowan where she received her Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts. Her experience ranges from working on popular TV shows such as Veronica Mars, The Heiress, Fashion House and HBO’s John from Cincinnati, to performing with professional sports networks including the ABA, NFL, NBA and NPSL. She had the privilege of dancing for recording artist, Natalie Loftin and has also worked for Barry Manilow’s Stiletto Entertainment while performing for Holland America Cruise Lines. Jennifer is a dancer, a performer, and a teacher. She has been teaching dance to students of all ages for the past 10 years and has worked in dance studio management for the past 4 years. Her life long dream has always been to open her own studio and that dream is now her reality! Jennifer is originally from Michigan and relocated to San Diego with her husband in 2006.

My two granddaughters, ages 3 and 4 at the time, started with Miss Jenny and SDA in January of 2013. They have LOVED ballet, and their teacher, from the very first day! They participated in the spring recital, which was the highlight of their year! The following year they participated in the 2014 winter production of The Nutcracker! What a thrill for the whole family to watch them in this delightful performance! Now, at ages 5 and 6, they are still loving ballet, and are anxiously awaiting this winter’s Nutcracker. We think Miss Jenny is amazing. She loves our kids, and it shows!

Ms Jenny is the owner of the studio and one of the kindest, sweetest people I have met. She especially loves the little ones and works with them so well. She has brought in some very high level instructors and for anyone serious about dancing they have the skill set here to take your dancer to the highest level. They have a great competitive team but she also creates a safe environment, provides a quiet area for homework if needed, a beautiful studio and great environment for kids. My child has attended here for 2 years. I saw a negative comment below and was shocked. If Jenny wasn’t responsive quickly enough it is because she was working with the kids. She is very kind and patient. If you have an issue just go talk to her in person. She is there all the time and very approachable. We have never had an issue. She also volunteers her time and for two years has helped with the Garden Road Variety show choreographing the final dance routine free of charge. Awesome acrobatic, hip hop, ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, cheer and dance theatre. Many of her instructors still tour. You should read their resumes… amazing. That is my take on it. My little girl started with Signature Dance Academy at three years old! She is five now and dancing on the competition team! I cant imagine our life with out Mrs. Jenny!!! She is amazing with kids and a great role model for ours. We love the families there, everyone is super nice! I do feel like this dance studio is our home away from home!

My child started dancing here about 2 months ago and has pretty much hated it since day one. From the start the staff was not very welcoming, my child is a beginning dancer and is not familiar with any technique. When my child asked about certain technique in class to clarify proper instruction, the teacher was short with her responses and not very helpful. We came to find out that the teacher is actually the owner of the studio! In general the teacher did not seem to happy to be working with kids, which I find odd and unprofessional for a Dance teacher. We are no longer attending this studio.

My 5 year old loves Miss Jenny at Signature Dance. It’s very convenient for us because we have our son at Poway Samurai Martial Arts at the same time. Even if the classes were not the same time, our daughter would still attend. She loves her attentiveness and really enjoys the songs and dances she is learning. We’ve been coming about a year now and I hope she continues to like dancing so we can be a student for many years.

SDA is great. My oldest daughter has been dancing there for almost 2 years and she loves it. She has really grown with the studio, and is encouraged by the teachers to grow her love of dancing. Being part of the studio is like having another family. We have made so many friends and enjoy the other dancers and their families. I would definately recommend SDA to anyone who is interested in dancing. They have so many different class options and times that it makes it easy to find something. The business continues to grow which is great to watch. The owner, Jenny, is always friendly and really cares about her students. I think she thinks of us as her family too! Jenny and all the teachers at SDA really make every child feel welcome, and go above and beyond when they need to. I look forward to the 4 days a week we get to spend there. :)

We did our homework when choosing a dance school for our 4 year old daughter and heard nothing but rave reviews about Signature Dance and Ms. Jenny. Our sources were right on as we have been extremely pleased.
Nearly a year in, our daughter is still very excited when Saturday rolls around and she gets to see Ms. Jenny and her friends.
Classes are structured so the kids have fun while learning good technique.
Friends of ours have attended adult tap and yoga classes at Signature as well and really enjoyed them.

SDA is FABULOUS!!! The owner, Jennifer Glenn, runs a business is a homey, comfortable setting and genuinely takes an interest in the welfare of EVERY student at the studio. The dancers are treated with the utmost respect as are the paying parents, and there is always a positive, feel-​good vibe permeating through the studio. Jenny is extremely talented, creative, organized, communicative, kind, and gregarious – she epitomizes customer service and only hires instructors who do the same! I feel fortunate that Jenny and her staff at SDA are strong role models for my young dancer.
