Mathnasium Of Poway

I believe my daughter is doing great at Mathnasium, but I would like her to go beyond great and reach the point of readiness to be in the advanced math class and not in Common Core. I’m glad that Mathnasium sees that Common Core is not an appropriate way to teach math. My daughter is a product of two Engineers and has an older sister with a Math Degree, and we all believe in teaching math the traditional way.

Mike and James have been very accommodating for our family situation and using 2 Mathnasium locations. James is always helpful and explains things fully so that we are in the loop on everything. I find the staff pleasant and the learning environment to be quiet so that my son can concentrate.
We’ve been to other Mathnasium’s in town, and this one takes the cake!

Our daughter was struggling in math, so my wife or I would spend most school nights helping her on her homework, explaining concepts, and going over past quizzes. It’s subject she used to enjoy, but gradually lost interest as the concepts became harder. However, once her school introduced Common Core, we were at a greater loss because it required a different approach to solving math.
We enrolled our daughter in Mathnasium at the beginning of the summer. She took an assessment test which helped identify her areas for improvement. We would go about 4 days a week, so she could progress thru her personal binder of assignments. What we like are the friendly tutors and how they explain, coach, and encourage kids in a calm and open space. It’s an inviting learning environment because even after kids finish their daily work, they are free to play with hands-​on puzzles or play chess with a staff member, while they wait for parent to pick them up.
However, what amazed us the most was seeing our daughter become more and more motivated. Mathnasium somehow rekindled her passion for math. As the school year begins, only time will tell how she performs, but she enters class with greater confidence and a better understanding of math. As parents, we could not have asked for anything more from Mathnasium and encourage others to give it try.

My son joined Mathnasium 1 month ago and we are happy with the results thus far. The investment is well worth it. Mike was able to customize our agreement to suit our needs and budget. You do not have to sign up for 6 or 12 months if that arrangement is not within your budget. They will work with you. The staff is friendly, funny and attentive. I was surprised when my son said he really enjoys going as it can be a challenge to keep him engaged. He really likes the tutors and looks forward to playing the games after he finishes his lesson for the day and they have a wonderful reward system. I drop him off for 1 — 1 ½ hours 3 times a week which gives me time to run errands or go to the gym.

The Poway Staff are the best. The Director. mr Pinato has fully empowered his staff to provide the necessary, and relevant, skills and desire to expand in Mathematics. I enrolled my granddaughter, and she smiled before, during, and after her classes – and more importantly improved on her assessment by twofold. This Poway Office is most highly Recommended. I sat down with the owner of Mathnasium in Poway for quite some time on separate occasions and have never seen someone so passionate about helping children develop in a positive way as I have with him. I would highly recommend Mathnasium of Poway to every parent and student in the Poway area. I was raised in Poway and lived here for over 23 years. There has not and is not to this day a place as reputable as this regarding improving Math grades and knowledge as a whole.

Both of my kids started Mathnasium in Poway over the summer. The curriculum was able to identify holes in their knowledge and allowed them to refresh their memory. Since the school year is underway — they are both doing great — and have their math confidence back! Can’t say enough great things. Thanks to all at Mathnasium!

I never thought that my son would need help in Math. He was always pretty strong and capable in this subject until the Catholic school he goes to adopted Common Core. I quickly noticed the steady decline in his grades, and there came a point where I could no longer help him.
I feel very fortunate to have found Mike and Mathnasium of Poway. He and his staff helped my son gain his confidence back shortly after he started here. After the first week, my son told me that math is so much fun at Mathnasium. He not only enjoys math again, but his test results proved that the program works.

Mathnasium has provided excellent service and the best tutoring possible for my daughter. She has been struggling in Math for a couple of years. So, needless to say Math for her was not an enjoyable subject. After starting sessions at Mathnasium she has really started to enjoy Math. She likes to get the extra help and the tutors have been great at getting her to really understand the process. The owner Mike is excellent and really has a passion for helping kids learn and grow. I give Mathnasium in Poway an A+.

Excellent math tutoring services for elementary through high school. My 5^th grader has been struggling with the subject for awhile. After just his 2^nd session here, he is beginning to understand what he missed in school and, dare I say it, even enjoying it! Highly recommend!
