I never thought Oral Surgery could be a pleasant experience. Dr. Gramins and team are highly professional, knowledgeable, and caring. They took the time to answer my barrage of questions and talk me through the procedure beforehand. Afterwards, he and his team contacted me directly to see that my recovery was on schedule. I could not be more pleased with the process and the results. I wholeheartedly recommend his service.

Top Notch Care.
Had an Oral surgery performed here and had the best care and was made to feel at ease and in wonderful care by Dr. Gramins. Would highly recommend to friends and family. Had very straight forward dealings with the insurance process, no issues there. Dr. Gramins kept me well informed through out my procedure and even went above and beyond to ease my husbands nerves at the time of surgery. Most friendly nurses in both locations Thanks for the great care over the years, will continue to bring my business here!

Dr. Gramins is a very capable doctor. His nurse was great. He bought the practice of a doctor we used to go to, Dr. Dever with whom we also had great experiences.
Major oral surgery went fine. A little higher price than other doctors quoted. A few days afterward, my husband called the pharmacy to refill his pain medication and was informed that the pharmacy had determined that the painkiller prescribed by the doctor clearly conflicted with another medication my husband was taking. This was of course listed on my husband’s pre-​op docs with the doctor. The pharmacy would not refill the prescription.
When we called the doctor he was not in. The poor nurse was stuck in the middle coordinating with the other uncooperative and uncaring doctor in the practice. We spent 2 days coordinating. By this time the meds ran out and my husband was in severe pain. The doctor on call would not even call back. He told the nurse to tell us, «Just tell him to take a Tylenol». Not even a call back. We called another of our family doctors who could not believe this and helped us out. Without him, my husband would have been in unbearable pain.
The other reason for this review is the staff. With the exception of one person at the La Jolla office (I believe her name is Maria and she is very easy to deal with) it is an extremely painful experience to make an appointment or handle any clerical issues.
They clearly believe they are doing you a favor by taking your money or your appointment and will not do anything, however small a request, to make it easier for you.
In fact, they give detailed explanations of why the doctors cannot be inconvenienced even by 1 hour or have ANY down time between their scheduled appointments each day, even 1 hour, and will demand that you go out of your way to accomodate them as well as perform clerical tasks and phone calls that are their responsibility. They will not work around your schedule at all, even after you have spent considerable sums of money with their office.
So while this is not direct behavior of the doctor, it was not corrected and it is SO bad that it overrides the competent surgical experience. That and leaving my husband in severe pain account for this negative review.
The staff is SO arrogant and condescending and it is really hard to explain very simple things to them because they simply cannot understand and when this is pointed out they become aggressive.
But they will go on and on about their schedule and what has to be convenient to them and their internal policies. We were forced to deal with them for follow up appointments but if there was any way we could have seen another doctor we would have done so. But once a surgery is performed, of course other doctors will not do the follow up.
Errors were also made in the insurance billing.
I would not go back to this office.

My son had 4 wisdom teeth pulled by Dr. Gramins. We have no complaints at all about the procedure, however we got a rude surprise on the price. We had paid almost $ 1000 up front on the basis of expected insurance coverage, but were shocked to get another $ 500 bill after the procedure. We hadn’t realized that Dr. Gramins was outside our insurance (CIGNA) network, so there was no negotiated limit on what he could charge and we had to pay the full amount. Though we were happy with his work, we will be VERY careful that any future work be done by an in-​network dentist who actually has negotiated rates with the insurance company. While I can’t fault Dr. Gramins as a dentist, we will not be visiting him again.
